  1. One more question, why did you have pictures taken at the Sheraton?

The major problem with most of my guests was that their credit cards were not being accepted. Hopefully this will be resolved. And dinner was really not good at Santa Fe but breakfast and lunch were ok. But everything is new at Santa Fe and if I had to choose between the problems that one of our guests experienced at the Palace (no running water, broken locks, toilet flush not working), I would rather be at Santa Fe. But I will definitely advise them to stay at the Ocean View rooms, at the buildings in front and right next to Palace and not the garden view rooms in the back. Hope this helps! Good to know. I think we'll just explain the set up and then people can choose to go whichever route they see fit. Thanks!
  3. Thank you , thank you, thank you, that is so good to hear. I'm glad your wedding was picture perfect and that Mona Lisa was worth it. Our group will be pretty large 100+ so we are doing the buyout. We'll be having open bar so I sure hope that includes the water..thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to check with our WC (who is actually Amy of FLC) about that. Can't wait to see your pictures!
  4. Thank you so much for the awesome review!!! My wedding is so similar to yours as we are staying at the Riu, having the wedding at Sunset da Mona Lisa, using Fiestas Los Cabos as our WC, and having Juan Carlos as our photog! One thing I was waiting to hear about most though was Mona Lisa...did I miss that review? How was the food, the service, etc?? Please elaborate. Also, we have guests looking to book at Riu Santa Fe...do you think we should just tell everyone to stay at the Palace?
  5. BTW, if you go on the Riu cabo website you can see the "missiones" (the area where Mona Lisa juts out into the Sea of Cortez) in the distance on the first picture. It's too far away to see the restaurant but you get a good gage at the distance away.
  6. Riu is closer to the town of Cabo San Lucas (a few minutes). Dreams is a good 20+ minute drive away. The Riu Palace is much larger than Dreams. Dreams is more quiant but still a good size. The beaches are pretty equal (both unswimable) but the Riu has a great view of lovers beach, the arch, etc. Dreams has better roomservice! But, IMO, the buffet and restaurants are better at Riu. Drinks are the same at both. Dreams has a cute beach bar called Barracuda that has swings for seats! Riu doesn't have anything like that but their bars are big compared to Dreams. let me think of more.....
  7. I've stayed at both and can try to answer any questions you have. As far as weddings there go, there are plenty of girls who have or are getting married at both on this forum. Differences I noticed are.... The rooms at Dreams are a little nicer, IMO. I believe they have been recently updated. (Our queen bed at Riu was two twins pushed together Way more pool room at the Riu but the swim-up bars are better at Dreams, again IMO. To be continued, I have to get back to work.....
  8. I was just thinking that parasols would be so classy! Nice. Quote: Originally Posted by carlymcmullen My girls are going to be carrying orange parasols -
  9. ooh, I am so in love with those! Wow I want them, question though, what type of flowers will they carry?
  10. I feel like punching this Daniella woman. She is in the wrong profession! I agree with the others and say you should make this info known to any bride looking to get married there. You have definitely solidified my decision. We are staying at the Riu and were contemplating having our wedding there or at our first choice, Sunset Mona Lisa. My mom was pushing towards the Riu because it would be "easier" to have it where we are staying. Thank you so much for posting this thorough review! Can't wait to see Juan's pics of your wedding, I'm sure they will be amazing! Congratulations!
  11. Thanks for that awesome review! Although, we aren't getting married at the Hilton there was a lot of helpful information in there that we can use. Can't wait to see your pictures!
  12. Those are non pro? They look professional! Your wedding looked awesome. Congrats!
  13. Very pretty! It will be so unique! Question about the anniversary ring you guys are talking about. When does one get it? 1st anniversary? 5 year? 10 year? I didn't know this was common practice.

Thanks, J Hey, sorry I missed this post last week.. That is so cool that your fiance proposed at SML! What a perfect spot, tell him he did a good job Well when we went on our site visit we stayed at Dreams it it was a good 20 minutes away from Mona Lisa. We really wanted to be able to give our guests the all inclusive experience so we went with the Riu. It is right up the beach (not walkable) but only a few minute drive away. You can see it from the terrace at Mona Lisa. My FI and I also stayed there last April with my family and its beautiful.
  15. Hi there, my brother got married at Breezes Runaway Bay in Jamaica 5 years ago. I can tell you all about it if need be!
  16. I also might be interested....prices??

  18. Those are all great gifts! I never thought about Tommy Bahama for the groomsmen. My FI loves their buttondowns. What do the Coach passport covers look like? I'm waiting for Coach to come out with some cute luggage tags....nevermind they'll probably just get ripped off the bags. And thanks for the idea of Tiffany's gifts for the WC, I'm totally stealing that idea for mine and our TA.
