  1. Oh my gosh. That is complete bullsh*t. I personally know 3 woman, that had they not tried for years (two of them even after repeated miscarriages) they would never have given birth to the beautiful children they now have. It is because of their strength, faith, and support from the loved ones around them that they were able to keep trying until they were finally blessed children of their own.
  2. Very cute! Thanks for posting pics. I think I'm going to have to get those!
  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! My WC told me about this place but I wanted to see some of their things so that I could try and convey the ideas I had in my head. This place has just what I'm looking for in linens, tableware, everything!
  4. There are several brides on this forum who have gotten married at the Riu. Just do a search for Riu Palace. I have been there for vacation and we are staying there the week of our wedding. The resort is beautiful. You will no doubt have a lovely wedding.
  5. Why don't you just give her a call? That's horrible, I will definitely watch watch our bill!

WHat a great idea!
  7. That sounds like an awesome idea. I just bought a couple of bottles of wine the other day, so while my FI is out shopping, I'll be home wrapping! Any good shows on tonight?
  8. I dont' know the brand, but Walmart actually sells them. They come in a little white box with pink writing and they work great! I buy them everytime we go on a company trip to wear under strapless dresses, or open back tops. You have to make sure and get a size that fits and make sure you put the sticky part as far back as it will go to get the best support. I'm a C cup so not sure how it will work for anyone bigger than that.
  9. My diet is out the window for the holidays! FI and I were just talking about this earlier today. I like that you said you "feel like a sausage". That's totally how I feel right now. On a different note, I just bought my first pair of Spanx and LOVE them! Wow they're great.

We went there for dinner and it was all dark and I thought- what a waste, it could be so beautiful! Also, how was Emma to deal with ( the food and bev director)? FYI- Emma stated that it was 13,500 for "partial buyout" and not the entire restaurant. Thanks! When we went to dinner there on our site visit, the pools were lit up as well as some other lighting on the walkways, etc. Maybe they were doing some maintenance when you were there? I'll try to find my pictures and post them. As far as Emma goes, we haven't had to directly deal with her. Our wedding coordinator from Fiestas Los Cabos has been doing our "wheeling and dealing". At first she wouldn't compromise with things like the menu and keeping the 2007 prices but our W.C. got her to give in. And you are correct, the "partial buyout" doesn't include the area of the restaurant that is enclosed indoors. She said that they have to keep it open to allow their regular patrons to still dine and she assured us that we would not see or be bothered by them.
  11. Lavalos, I just saw your post now. I would love more information from you. I'll send you a PM. We just signed the contract and put down our deposit the other day. We are so excited!

I did my initial site visit before hiring her, so we needed to meet once I brought her on board so we could get everything in order, which is when I was able to do cake tasting, decor decisions, etc. It was entirely worth it, but we did a lot over email too, so if you don't have the ability to make a trip just to meet with Amy about decor, she can email you picture after picture, and I have a lot, too! Great to know! We did meet Amy at our site visit but I think we'll definitely go back to have taste testings, etc. Thanks!

  14. Wow that is a toughie! Talk about random acts of kindness! Writing them a very personal note or card telling them how much their generosity was appreciated and how much it meant to you might really be the best way to thank them. I'm sure they expect nothing in return but to know that you graduated and made them proud.
  15. Your wedding looked amazing! That first picture she posted really set the scene. Congrats!
  16. What great stories! Keep em' coming!

All of our linens, glassware, chargers & napkin rings, centerpieces, lounge furniture and some other decor pieces we used in the lounge came from the same place. One more question, how were the prices at this decor vendor? I imagine that everything can really add up. Is everything priced individually? And did you plan a trip down there for the purpose to go over these details and pick things out?
  18. I love your makeup! Looks very natural which is what I would choose as well. And that's so cool that Tara took you to pick out your decor. I was assigned Amy at FLC but I'm sure she has access to the same vendor. Thanks again!
  19. What a great review! I'm thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience with FLC. I'd love to see close up pics of your make up and hair since I was recommened to use Octavio as well. Also, were your centerpieces from FLC? I loved the iron ones with the blue and green globes! You really left nothing out for your big day and insprired me, and I'm sure many more of the girls on here, to use some of your ideas. Thank you!!!!
  20. I wish we had heard about this sooner! We just ordered some letters from a different company (not charity related) and paid $20 a piece.
  21. Good Luck! I've been putting this whole event off for awhile..let us know how it goes!
