  1. Great job! I know the feeling, FI and I were both at our heaviest ever over the holidays so we decided to quit doing this to ourselves and get serious. We made a promise to stick with it and it's been 2 weeks, I'm doing well but Mike is kicking butt! I'm so proud of him. And you should be so proud of yourself as well, awesome work!

  3. Welcome! Yes you have come to the right place! If you just take a bit and search this forum you will find tons and tons of good info. I'd be happy to try and answer any questions you might have to the best of my knowledge. I'm planning my wedding in October at Sunset Mona Lisa as well as staying at the Riu Palace. However, our guest list is large and we are opting to do the buy out of Mona Lisa so I might not have the info you are looking for...but ask away!
  4. That is crazy! They did do the Atlantis before but I think it was a good 5 or 6 years ago. Two years ago was Cabo (that was when FI and I fell in love with the location), before that Puerto Rico, before that Cancun I think...I wasn't there then. I know the owner of TI also owns some other companies maybe you work for one of them? So anyway we'll be at the Atlantis in March, maybe I'll see ya there!

I know some people went out and bought alcohol and brought it back to there rooms, but I didn't go, so I'm not sure how far the stores were. No way, really? Does the company you work for have the intitials TI?
  6. Um....where are these pictures??
  7. Thank you! I am making this asap! Sounds great.

Do you remember where the best place to hang out during the day is? Which pool or beach area is closest to a place to get drinks, do activities, etc?

  11. Thanks for the input! Sounds like prices will be similar to the Grand Wailea in Maui(that's where we went last year), I think a daquiri there was $16!! Unfortunately food, beverages and activities that aren't in our itinerary are on us. Does anyone know if they will allow us to go to a grocery or liquor store in town and bring our own stuff in to the resort? The pina colada sounds delish!
  12. Every year the company I work for takes the staff with the best performance on a trip. This year we are going to the Atlantis in the Bahamas. Anyone ever been? Any advice on where to eat, what to see, what to avoid, etc??
  13. Chances are your musician will be able to play anything you want especially if they can get their hands on the notes (most popular songs can be found on the internet). We are bringing our guitarrist down from the states but we gave him a list of songs ranging from Dave Matthews to Country and he learned them in less than a week.

I've eaten there within the last year, thought the food was incredible! We dined with a table of 10 couples...the overall consensus was that the food was great.
  15. Two Pina Coladas by Garth Brooks The Tide is High by Blondie (?) Anything by Kenny Chesney...
  16. Welcome! You should be able to find some good info on here. I've stayed at the Riu Palace and it is beautiful!
  17. I keep a loaf of light whole wheat bread in our fridge at work and a jar or reduced fat peanut butter. When I get to work I pop a slice in the toaster and spread on about a half a tablespoon of p.b. Goes great with coffee. That's only 2 weight watchers points! Then about mid morning I eat a small banana. If I have time in the morning I do the Egg Beater (egg white) burrito, with about 1/4 cup egg (that I cook in the mic in a Pam coated bowl), a little reduced fat shredded cheese and lots of salsa. I discovered that Cruz makes a low carb, high fiber tortilla that tastes great. 14 grams of fiber! For those of you that do WW.

I believe the blue pool of water that you see towards the bottom is the dolphin center. Almost positive that's it. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...cabomarina.jpg
  19. I have the same thing happening right now. FMIL wants to take me to a wedding store a hour away because that's where she took her daughter (my FSIL) to find her dress. I keep putting it off. Sorry, I don't have much advice besides just letting her come but try on the dresses YOU like. And if you can bring a couple other people, friends, BMs to back you up.
  20. One more tip regarding iron-ons... Make sure to put something with a hard surface under the fabric you are ironing otherwise the print will be light and not all of it will transfer. I'd recommend a baking sheet or cutting board..something that won't melt with heat.
  21. Here's a couple of easy exercises to do... Get into a push-up position with your face looking down at the ground. Hold this position with your arms extended, back and legs straight for as long as you can. Rest for a minute and then do it again. This is a great whole body tightener but you will really feel it in your abs muscles, gluts too as they squeeze to hold you in position. I like to then drop down to my forearms and do it again. Another totally easy and effective one is side bends. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and one arm up above your head stretch to each side (8-10) reps and repeat until you're tired!
