  1. Tammy, did you happen to hear any other info about it when you were there? Congrats on your wedding btw!
  2. I was there the 26-29th of September. But I got the info on when it's opening from the Riu website. Plus our W.C. said that when places say they are opening and when they actually do are totally different. But maybe it will open on time...that would be cool.
  3. Girls, just thought I'd share the little bit I found out about the new Riu they are building in Cabo. When we were there in April and then again in just a few weeks ago for our site visit the constructions crews were still hammering away at it. It's enormous! So here's the scoop (and I apologize if someone else already posted about this): It's going up right next to (actually most of it is behind) the Riu Palace. It's set to open up at the end of this year/early 2008. It is a 5 star, where the Riu Palace is a 6. They are two completely seperate resorts but if you are a guest at the Palace, you have access to the Santa Fe. (you just can't have dinner at their restaurants for free) BUT not vice versa. The Santa Fe is about $100-$200 cheaper per night (according to a travel agent friend of mine) but this is for a gardenview room. She also said that the Santa Fe will be much more quaint, where the Palace is more grandios. Does anyone have any other info to add? I'm psyched to give our guests the option of the cheaper resort.
  4. Wait, isn't your wedding a month away? Sounds like she's not gonna make it. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I bet you she doesn't have the $, owes everyone around town and feels bad about it. Hence, not taking your calls. I'd stop by her house and confront her.

  6. My W.C. said that the firedancers show is "jaw-dropping". But it can be pricey..don't quote me but I think for a smaller group (maybe 3 or 4) dancers is around $1500 and the larger group (9 or 10) is around $2500... Something like that. She actually recommended them over fireworks for our end-of-the-night finale at our wedding but I still think we want the fireworks instead. I don't want the firedancers stealing the show ha ha
  7. When you say hi resolution what do you mean? What exactly makes them different? I have to say that any print I have gotten from Kodak, Snapfish or even Wal-mart turns out very crisp and clear. Might be my camera (I use a Rebel) but even the ones I get from other people usually turn out great. Just wonder if I'm missing out on something really cool.

On the right hand side under "things you can do", go to CREATE GROUP. It will walk you through it from there.

  11. The best one for sharing pictures from a group is snapfish.com They actually let you set up a Group Album that everyone can access and post pictures on. You then can order prints from the entire album. It's very easy useful and fairly cheap!

In the middle is a mirror with 5 different size candles then sand scattered to 2 sand castles and seashells scattered through the sand and then 2 smaller centerpieces at the 2 end tables with 3 candles instead of 5. Then we got one bigger sand castle for the guestbook table. I'm actually NOT planning this reception. It's in CO and his family is doing it. I just told them the idea and sent pics and they did all the work. So I'm not really stressing or anything. And then my FI's brother does cakes and hes making a cake thats blue with seashells on it. For favors my MIL is making white chocolate mint molds in the shape of seashells and I'll probably attach a little card to it. Then they are letting me keep all the decorations so I'll take all of it to my other reception for my family and do the same. Easy easy! But the seashells and the sandcastles and even little shells to put your rings in can be found at Carmel Curios for SUPER CHEAP!! And they're gorgeous! Thanks for the link, I love the idea of sandcastles on the guestbook table or as centerpieces.
  13. That's awesome. There so much to comment about this but where does one begin? Ha! I needed a laugh today, I'm so sick with a nasty cold right now...still at work though
  14. Pink and green were also my colors (Wow this color combo became popular fast), and I wanted to find this tie for the guys because I think it's just perfect. But I think we are going a different direction with our colors now. More sage green, light blues and hints of pink.

Where did you get those?
  16. What a great idea. I'm in Amanda (wisco4) $10 I couldn't figure out how to quote the latest tally.
  17. oooh, good thread. I don't have mine figured out yet so I'd love to see what everyone else is doing.
  18. Sunset quoted us $12,500 for a buy-out in 2008. You have to meet that amount in food and beverages and we know that we will do that with our guest list. Dinner prices range from around $70-$100 pp and drinks are around $75 pp for 4 hours (basic bar). Now that's not including entertainment, flowers, attire, favors, decor, etc. Yikes! Now I'm realizing how much this is gonna cost! Before we went on our site visit, I was also in love with the Sheraton but once I saw all there is out there I realized there is no bad place to get married. Casa Del Mar is also beautiful! And you can't go wrong with Dreams. We just wanted to be closer to the city of Cabo.
  19. darn, I couldn't open this at work so I'll have to look when I get home. That's funny about the sheep! So how many guests are you inviting?
  20. I don't think it's anything major. We discovered that September is the time of year that most businesses close down to do major cleaning, painting, updating, etc. It looked like they might be hanging some new lanterns, doing something to the floor and maybe bringing in new furniture. The place was pretty cleared out when we were there and there were a lot of people working on the place. We didn't talk to the owner, Amy just took us there and we walked through. Any help would be appreciated...sorry for the hijak!
  21. I finally have a chance to post about our site visit to Los Cabos! We nailed down our wedding location as well as our WC, hotel, rehersal dinner and flowers! This is such a huge relief So after looking at several venues we hands down decided on Sunset da Mona Lisa for our wedding location. It could not be more perfect! We decided to hire Amy Abbott from Fiestas Los Cabos for our WC..she is so down-to-earth and sweet! She "gets" us and the vision for our wedding. We will most likely be staying at the Riu Palace because although Dreams was great, the Riu is in a much better location and we know that the size will accomodate our large group. And our rehersal dinner will be at Edith's. They were remodeling when were visited but we just know it will be beautiful and the menu looks awesome. Aaaahhh, I can't believe we have all of this nailed down! It feels very real now!
  22. Susan! Oh my gosh, you have everything down pat. It all looks so great. You are going to have a picture perfect wedding! I'm so excited for you!!! Love all of your ideas...thank you for posting pics. Have lots and lots of fun!!!!:
  23. Please post your pics of paper lantern set-ups or luminaries lit up during your receptions or pics that you have found. I need to show my WC what I'm looking for but have no pictures...help! I know many of you have used these or are going to. I leave tomorrow morning for my site visit and want to have something to show her so the sooner the better If there is already a thread like this please let me know. Thank you!!!!
  24. The poll doesn't match the pictures..or am I going crazy. I pick the second one!
