  1. Woohoo, that is exciting! You know we of course can't wait to see pics of you in the one you choose!

Do you really think standing in low heels for 5+ hours is a good idea? If you're not well, you're not well... don't make things worse... I know, totally not the best thing to do but I've been out with Mono for quite a few shows this Summer and one of the other sales girls already took the night off so I've got to be there. Sucks but I've just gotta pull through... Really the crappy thing tho is that my Dad (who owns the gallery where I work) strongly believes that we create everything in our lives so he gets upset with me whenever I get sick/hurt/etc. saying "Hmm, I wonder why you created this...?". It gets very frustrating and it makes me feel even worse when I'm already down. 3. Looks like I hurt my back - Bummer! I've been having intermittent leg pain all week that has slowly spread to my lower back. Today it grew worse and I spent most of the day in bed (FI was great, brought me breakfast in bed, kept me company, etc.). At first it was freaking me out because the pain seems to be more in my calf bones than anything. It feels like I've been on my feet working all day in high heels but I haven't done anything exerting at all. I was thinking "Can you still get growing pains at 24??" lol. I haven't put on weight but have actually lost 15 lbs in the past 6 months or so so that couldn't be it. Finally today when it hit my lower back pretty hard I did a little research on the net and it looks like I probably just hurt my back somehow. I walk a mile to class 2 days a week with a heavy backpack w/computer & books in it so I'm thinking that could be it. Chiropractor won't be back in until Monday. Martin wanted me to go to Carenow tonight but I decided to just relax (stayed in from a wine/cheese party ). Tomorrow evening we have a huge show at the gallery that I'll have to be sharp for and on my feet for 5+ hours. I can get away with some low heels but not much more support on my poor feet than that. If the pain is worse in the morning I'll try and get into see a doc before the show. Another thing is that this Mono seems to be lingering slightly. Whenever I get stressed (like today) I just end up feeling crappy and weighed down. My glands swell up and I get a mild grade fever (no more than 99.5) - just enough to make me loopy and whiney . I was hoping to get insurance but found out the other day I was denied because of high blood pressure. No bueno.
  4. That's great, thanks for sharing! I love that it's engraved too - what a great keepsake
  5. What a gorgeous, unique dress. The pics are really beautiful Leigh - great work as usual! How cute that their dog was in the ceremony
  6. Here's the one I got: Natural jewelry cleaner and jewelry tarnish remover
  7. Christine - you are the answer to my prayers, lol. I've been dying waiting for someone on here to get married at the Mayan so I'm SOOO glad you decided to join us!!!! Where did you get your cake from? Marco said they only include a small "symbolic" cake in the package... Also, how many people did you have and where did you guys stay? We plan on staying at the Westin. Oh man I'm so excited - I can't WAIT to see your pictures!!!
  8. The pics look great. I agree with whoever said that y'alls personalities really come out.
  9. I use this stuff I bought at the Bridal Show. It works great. I'll have to look and see what it's called, I know they have a website...
  10. I plan on getting married at the Mayan and staying at the Westin. If your guests don't consume a lot of beverages (mine probably won't) then a non-AI could work. Since I've told my guests about the switch from an AI to a non-AI I've been pleasantly surprised by many of their reactions - they love that they won't be "held down" at the hotel and can get out to explore more restaurant wise. Sorry I got off your subject a little bit If it's strictly between the Mayan and Marriott I would stay at the Marriott because I've read not so good reviews about the rooms at the Mayan on Trip Advisor. Hope this helps!

  12. Hi Gina! I am soooo jealous - Playa Fiesta was our top choice but it just didn't work out right for us. Anyways, congrats on picking such an AMAZING site!!! Jackie (PVBride) is also getting married there, so I'm sure you two will have lots to share! Welcome to the forum

As for "multitud postrada" this is the context: "Ella soñó cuando niña que estaba desnuda en una iglesia ante de una multitud postrada..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't know why, because honestly I do very well in English writing classes, but writing in Spanish is sooo difficult for me! I like to be grammatically correct and have my ideas for papers come across clear and concise but that just doesn't seem to work for me in Spanish... This is why I've been avoiding this class for so many semesters I have to keep telling myself "Come on, just get through it - you can do it!" because after this I should only have one more semester left (2 more senior level Span. classes and 1 junior/senior level Art History). Yahoo!
  14. I need help with some vocabulary words taken from a poem that I have to analyze for a paper on Tuesday. I found most of the words I didn't know in the dictionary minus these: - Huerfanita - Empleadita (female worker...?) - Multitud postrada - ________ crowd ? - Impuntualidad - (Not being on time...?) Also, if anyone wants to volunteer to look over my paper when I'm finished (for grammatical errors) that'd be great. Gracias!
  15. Ooooh, I love it! Very pretty and romantic. I like the back on it too. Martin says he really likes it also. Good pick!
  16. My FMIL gets migraines fairly often and she has found that taking one Chlortrimeton (you can buy it OTC at the drugstore) when she starts to feel it coming on really helps. She puts it under her tongue to let it dissolve. Then she goes and lays down with a mask over her eyes. She may also take an advil too - not sure. Hope this helps. Feel better soon!
  17. I love the color for the powder bath. We moved into our home about 8 months ago and still haven't finished the bedroom or office - we're definitely looking for color selections too! I totally wanna send in one of the rooms to a show like Divine Designs or something like that. How cool would that be?! We have this fantastic house but I cannot visualize spacial aspects well. Our wall colors right now are all "Cafe Ole" - a light, neutral coffee color. In our LR we went bold with a bright luxuriously red chaise lounge, dark deep blue couches, red and cream accent pillows and a red, cream and black funky rug. Most of our art is on the bold side with bright bold primary colors so we tried to design around that... As for the bedroom, I have NO clue what to do there. I really want to make it warm, inviting and sensual. Unfortunately tho we've just about reached our redecorating budget for now. Moving from a 700 sq. ft apt. to a 2,200 sq. ft. home is proving to be quite a challenge. We also have very high walls/ceilings and big open spaces (very contemporary new construction). So everything seems dwarfed. For example, we have a 50" Plasma in our living room that we thought would be HUGE but honestly it is not too impressive - I actually think we could have gone with the 70" and it would have really fit the space. Crazy huh
