  3. Your bridesman (that's totally cute btw) needs to get with it! Seriously, it sounds like you guys are doing a lot for him - sheesh! As for the Dr. titles, that just seems silly to me. Geez people, get over it. Yay for you accepting a job offer! What will you be doing?
  4. I just read this and would love to hear the update!
  5. Oh man, my mouth is watering reading this thread! YUMMMM!

The TTD shoot we hired another resort photographer. We got 2 hours of her time 112 pics on the dvd, and 30 printed 5'7 copies from the dvd, this cost us $600.00. Tropical pictures has a monopoly on the resorts for photography, an I really think they kind of sucked. My photgrapher the day after was good but she really didn't know what she was doing and we just winged it. You got sooo lucky with your TTD photographer!

I am paying a flat fee of $3000 ($1000 for his travel, which I booked, and $2000 for his photog. services). For this fee I am getting: - 3 hours of photography for the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner - All day the day of the wedding (no time limit) - Trash the dress/day after the wedding photos at the ruins (his suggestion) His portfolio is awesome. Check out his website: Jean-Marcus Strole - Photography I think his rates have gone up a bit, but he is still reasonable. He lives in Seattle and will fly anywhere. I will post a review when I get back from the honeymoon in November. His work does look very nice, great deal on the price too!!! We'll be eagerly awaiting your review.

AAAHHHH here too! lol I just sent them a request for more info. Hopefully we will get to meet them in December! Christine, thanks for the tips! And yes you are our first Mayan Palace bride (thus why you're having so many questions fired at you ). Thanks for being so helpful!
  11. I have another question - why did you decide to hire an outside wedding coordinator? Marco seems to be on top of things so far. If you could go back and do it all over again would you still spend the extra $ to get an outside WC?

  15. Oh no!! I'm so glad to hear you and Brandy are ok - well, shaken up but ok I guess would be a better way to phrase it. That stinks that your FI is out of town. Big hugs for you both!
  16. Once again, I'm jealous! You are going to have the BEST time! Adam seems so nice, he offered us a site visit there awhile back when we were first considering it. However, we ended up going to Riviera Maya instead (not so bad since I got a ring on the trip ). Man PF is going to be sooooooooo nice. Have a blast!!!!!

  18. I have been to the Royal in PDC twice. It is soooo beautiful - it's what made us think about having a DW in the first place. Do you have kids coming too? I know the one in Playa doesn't allow kids, not sure if the one in Cancun does. I really haven't heard anything about the Royal in Cancun yet but the one in Playa is so fabulous I would expect something similar.
  19. Wow, congrats to you both ~ I'm sure you're jumping with excitement!
  20. Looks like you guys had such a great time. Adorable pics, thanks for sharing! The squirrel scene is priceless.
