  1. Wow, that is an amazing location - go for it, especially if you can get the reduced rate.
  2. I think we'll be doing the same thing, asking all the guests to wear white and khaki/neutral/beige. I think the pics turn out so beautiful with this dress code. I've mentioned it to a few family members already and no one seems to have an issue with it. Sarah did have a great way of wording it that I'll probably steal when the time comes around.

Yesterday as a compliment Martin said "You look 24" lol. I said, "in 10 years I'll be wanting you to say the same thing"... Regardless, HAPPPPPY (slightly belated) BIRTHDAY COURTNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. You look HOT in those pics Maureen!!!!! Smokin'! It's really great for those of us who feel the same way you do about your body to see how comfortable and hot you look in those pics. GREAT JOB, you are beautiful!!!!! Oh yeah, P.S. - your eyes are gorgeous!
  5. I haven't made it all the way through yet but you look beautiful - love the dress and the flowers!!! Glad your wedding went so well ~ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
  6. Oh how exciting!!!! Jackie I know you're going to have a wonderful time. Soak it up!
  7. It looks pretty on you. I like the beading around the bust. P.S. Does your dog have one blue eye too?
  8. Sweet, someone's getting married after me!!!!! LOL Congrats, glad to have another '09 wedding on board!

We're already guaranteeing their revenue so that should be a non-issue, right? I agree with you, it sounds to me like they are trying to double-dip.
  10. Fish oil (capsules) will help your nails and hair grow. It also has tremendous health benefits - Google it if you're interested... If you do decide to take it, make sure you get the lemon flavored capsules.

Are you serious?!?!?!?!?! That is very surprising to me. I would think most hotel WC's wouldn't necessarily want an outside WC "butting in"...
  12. Heidi, I am so sorry. This brings up all kinds of emotions for me... My mother was also an alcoholic and drug addict, and she died when I was 17 from Cirrhosis of the liver. I completely understand your mixed emotions. I never cried when my Mom died - I actually felt relief. When I try and explain that to people to this day many of them don't understand. I am just now beginning to grieve for her loss. I have two older half sisters through my Mom (we all have different dads) and we all went through some very hard times with her when she was alive. I believe when she died she finally felt peace, and I believe this is the same for your Dad. No one wants to go on living that way, in such despair and misery. When my Dad and sister went in to see her body just after she had passed away they said all the tension had melted from her face and she looked so peaceful and young. My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Dad.
  13. That is a wonderful idea - it made me tear up reading this thread. How thoughtful.
  14. Can't wait to see pics of you in it, I'm sure you are going to look beautiful!
  15. WOW, you look so beautiful in that dress. Like some of the other girls I must admit I am a bit jealous but that just means you look damn good!

Do you think you will hire them as an outside WC or just stick with Marco?

I can let you know how did it went as soon as I come back. I have possitive feedback as far as today, they have send me better prices than the ones I originally found/negotiate with providers..... and since we are having a catholic ceremony also , they are coordinationg this event also, they will take care of everything: timing, flowers, priest, documents, etc so for me is much better. Thanks Edna, I will definitely be eagerly awaiting you review!

I understand why others have planners. She wrote the most unprofessional email I have ever heard...I don't know how she got my email and why she felt to write it. Beware...don't believe everything you hear. Sorry...I am still a little upset that she sent me that email because I felt like this forum and the other forum I was on was for brides only and NOT VENDORS. amy I understand that she could be trying to drum up business. Sorry you had such a bad experience with her! Honestly tho if I am going to be hiring somebody I want them to sell themselves to me. She did a pretty good job of that. Plus other people seem to be having or have had good experiences with her. I would really like to see a wedding that Marco has done on his own. I'm assuming you're using him alone as your WC? Can't wait to see your pictures!

  21. FYI after hearing such great things about Prisar Vallarta (WC) I wrote them and I wanted to share with y'all what Priscilla told me in regards to Marco: "Is very important you know the importance of hiring a wedding planner, because even though Marco is an excellent person, he is not as detailed as wedding coordinators are, for tell you an example we always take care that linens are long enough, the setting, etc, and is a linen is in not good condition we ask them to change it, may II explain? We are your eyes since the planning to the end of the event. There are a lot of advantages of hiring a WC. And also if you hire all suppliers through Mayan Palace you will pay a lot more because they earn a profit of each thing. With us, we negotiate with suppliers the best prices for you, we don not increase any supplier price." Kind of bummed but glad to know this info beforehand! We are now looking into getting an outside WC (another 2k, ouch!).
  22. Ok, I think we've come to the conclusion that we are going to need an additional WC besides Marco at the Mayan. I have heard good things from both of these companies. I just received an email back from Priscilla with Prisar Vallarta and I get a good feeling from her. The only thing I'm slightly worried about is that it might be difficult to understand and thus communicate with her. Her quote was between 1500-2000 depending on how many people we have and what type of ceremony we want. I'd like to pick a WC before we get down there (in December) so that they can take us to meet people at the hotels, vendors, etc. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated! TIA! ~Jaime
