  1. Our roommate's friends just got back from a honeymoon in St. Lucia and they loved it! Good luck, I wish you all the best...
  2. Tammy (host) is a TA. She's about to have a baby, but if she has time available she'd be great - everyone has had nothing but good things to say about her abilities! Also, I'm planning on staying at the Westin PV for our wedding too! We love the look of the hotel. My Dad got re-married there when I was 12. We're set up to go on a site visit there in December - can't wait!!!!
  3. Hi Sara, I also posted in your Newbie thread, but check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ulum-coba.html
  4. I believe there may have been a couple brides on here getting married there. Check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ulum-coba.html
  5. Oh my God, this is horrible. I just read the news. I don't know if this has been posted yet but here's what I read: Hurricane Dean underwent a good deal of strengthening on Friday and Friday night. Dean began the day as a category 2, 100-mile-per-hour hurricane; it ended the day at a category 4, 150-mile-per-hour major hurricane. Further strengthening is forecast over the next few days as Dean moves through the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. As of 5 pm (Eastern time), Dean was located near 16.1 North, 70.2 West, which is about 455 miles east-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, and about 165 miles south-southeast of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Maximum sustained winds are near 150 miles per hour. Dean is moving to the west-northwest near 18 miles per hour. The outer periphery of Dean is impacting the southern coast of the island of Hispaniola (the island on which Haiti and the Dominican Republic are located) and Puerto Rico, but Dean will more forcibly impact Jamaica and the Cayman Islands Sunday and Monday. Dean could be the strongest hurricane to strike Jamaica since 1950. Stronger than Hurricane Gilbert in 1988 which was a category three when it crossed the island from end to end. By Monday night and Tuesday, the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico will feel impacts from Hurricane Dean. Resort areas of Cancun and Cozumel should be getting ready for this powerful hurricane. A hurricane warning is in effect for the south coast of the Dominican Republic from Barahona west to the Haiti/Dominican Republic border. In Haiti, the warning runs from the border to Port-Au Prince. A hurricane warning is now in effect for Jamaica. A hurricane watch has been issued for the Cayman Islands. A tropical storm warning is in effect for the south coast of the Dominican Republic from Cabo Engano westward to Barahona, the coast of Haiti from Port-Au Prince north to the Haiti/Dominican Republic border and eastern Cuba, from the province of Camaguey eastward to the province of Guantanamo. Remember that watches mean that conditions are possible within 36 hours; warnings mean that conditions are expected within 24 hours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am so sad to hear this! To the girls whose weddings will be affected, I'm so sorry. Does anyone know if they will evacuate Jamaica? Where will the people go?

Although, word is that there are several major luxury hotels coming in the next 5 years--like the Ritz. We picked St. Kitts because we vactioned there last October and that is where we got engaged. I can't wait!! (although, I shouldn't be so anxious given the amount of stuff left to do before we go!!) Wow, that sounds amazing! Can't wait to see the pics

I was able to find some medication though in one of our tiny stores so I was thankful for that. I have a betta too...I work. He's soo cheerful to look at. We named him Masta Betta. Lol. I'm sorry Francois died. I take it hard when anything dies. I'm such a softy. My FI thought I was crazy last night. He was like...I hope nothing happens to your dog. I was like HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!! Haha, I'm that way too! I hate it when anything dies - it totally freaks me out. When my first beta died (his name was Sapphire) my friend had to flush him - I just couldn't do it! lol

My brother was the 1st person I saw and I started crying. I have no clue why. He told me how beautiful I looked, and I lost it. I had to regain my composure. It was so weird. When we started walking down the aisle, I saw James looking for me and it all went away. I was no longer nervous and so calm. I could tell he was nervous....it was so cute! Then I got to my dad and he was so cute and nervous too. When the preacher asked "who gives this woman away...", he stood there with his mouth by the microphone and had no clue what to say....he finally said, "I do"....haha! I was like, haven't you watched movies....you were suppose to say, "Her mother and I". Hillarious!! Hahaha, that's a great story!
  10. Oh no! We had a beta that died - he started getting all these white spots on him until we woke up one day and he was gone Poor Francois I'm sorry I don't really know what to say for a full fish tank but I hope you can save your fishies!! Can you go to a local fish store and ask what they'd recommend?

  12. Could you perhaps put something like "Remember the date" or some other verb that would be easier to translate? Do they not speak English at all? I'm assuming you're fluent in French, but if not I have a friend who is and I'd be glad to ask her...
  13. Wow, you're getting really close! Are you excited?? Welcome to the forum! I've actually never even heard of St. Kitts before... tell us about it!

I think he will take a desition on what to do on sunday... Ok, so if it's gonna hit he's outta there right?!? On another note, I feel bad for the Tuesday bride & groom! What do you do if something like this happens? Do you get a "re-do"? (lol)
  15. I agree, ask your BFF - she can't say anything to that (or shouldn't!). Good luck and remember it's YOUR day - do what you want!

A few hours before the ceremony I laid out on a hammock up in the hills overlooking the emerald water and I wrote my vows. It was incredibly relaxing. When I made my way down to walk out, I ran into the gm's who were waiting for us and my "song" started to play. That's when it hit me - this is it! I felt freakin fabulous, no nerves, no jitters, just a perfect peace in knowing this is so natural and so right. Sounds corny but it was true, the only thing I felt besides peace was excitement...I couldn't wait to see the love of my universe waiting for me at the edge of the ocean. It was magical, a strange calm that I didn't expect to feel because I thought all brides freak out at the last minute . . . I think I watch too many wedding shows..lol We hadn't seen each other in like 11 hours so I was dying to see him. When I finally did, and got to the end of the aisle, we kissed each other which felt normal to us, but someone later said we weren't supposed to kiss until the end....hahaha....nobody could have stopped us ) Awww Jamy - that really was beautiful. I absolutely love that story, thanks for sharing. I am going to try and remember that the day I marry Martin - I think it will give me strength.

On the news earlier they said that we should know more by Monday/Tuesday which direction it'll turn - TX/LA Coast or MX Coast...
