  1. I was thinking a little bing on my shoes might be nice as my dress is soooo simple! I want something like the "trump" sandals, but not by 'ivanka trump' I know how this sounds, no need to judge Still considering the steve madden groom sandals - they come in color too - but have heard reviews that the jewels fall off easily. Saw them in person and they are really cute. Something about spending $80 for sandals that I know may fall apart isn't that appealing. I keep searching thinking something new will come out, fall is coming... who am I kidding, fall shoes are already here...
  2. Have you ordered your necklace yet? I have the same etsy seller in my favorites as I am using orchids too, was thinking for my sister, the MOH. Curious about the quality... Everything else looks lovely!
  3. Your pictures are gorgeous, I definitely left a comment!! 8x10's are ridiculously expensive from a photographer, hope you win!!!
  4. Welcome!!!! We are few and far between on this board!! I too am getting married in May at the Caribbean Club. Do you have a date? location?
  5. Thanks for posting this link, I was getting a bit tired of going thru every font on dafont to find the best tropical dingbats!!!
  6. I did the same thing with the sewing kits! Definitely walked by them a number of times!!! But was able to get enough in pink for each of my bags! Thanks again Tori!! ps MJKH your bags are lovely!
  7. love love love for a pop of purple... if only http://www.barneys.com/Kioko/501073364,default,pd.html?utm_source=GAN&utm_medium=DesignerApparel.com&utm_campaign=Primary
  8. @Tori - the Bagdley Mischka flats you posted pages back would be gorgeous with your dress!!!! I was planning on doing these Tori Burch sandals in gold, however when I was 18, I decided it was an outstanding idea to put a tattoo across the bridge of my foot. Unfortunately the vetical thin strap of these thong sandals looks ridiculous with my tattoo. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tory-burch-thong/2978493?origin=category&resultback=2928 Looking for something more like this now, similar to the matisse posted a few pages back... http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ivanka-trump-traci-sandal/3149872?origin=keywordsearch&resultback=619 Realizing the window of opportunity is shrinking though, when do "summer" sandals usually come out anyways?! April?? that's cutting it a bit close for my Type A personality! I only wish I could wear some of these gorgeous heels! At 6' and FI coming in 1/2" shorter than me, no chance.
  9. I'm really glad I found this thread... It simply amazes me that people think "beach wedding" means shorts and hawain shirts. My most recent back and forth is with my own mother. She keeps telling me what she wants to wear and even sent me a picture of something that looked like a MuMu the other day and her explanation was well it is on the beach... I tried my hardest to remain composed and kindly explain to her that both FI and Best Man will be wearing suits and ties. No she doesn't have to wear a typical mother of the bride gown but no she definitely can not wear a hawian print outfit. And no it won't make it better to offset her if my father wears a printed shirt too. What about those two outfits goes with understated elegance, it's still a wedding! If I didn't want people to dress for it, there's only so many reasons to get fancied up, i would have eloped! Amazing. So glad others are experiencing the drama. I will be including a section on our website as we get closer for attire. Hopefully that will avoid other issues, doubtful, but i'm hopeful.
  10. Looks Great! (Of course you are making your own ) What guage wire did you use? How long did it take? Fairly certain I'm just going to purchase off etsy but you certainly have tempted me into DIY.
  11. Get Both! Kidding... Knowing what you just posted, Dress A in my opinion is more appropriate (a bit more bridal and conservative) for hometown receptions. I still love Dress B though... Really it is whichever dress makes you feel the most beautiful in!
  12. Michael's has them in their clearance section right now, pink and black... for $1. If I were doing it, I would totally take advantage of the sale!
  13. These are great, even better that you get to use your supplies that you had left over! Your guests will appreciate photos from the event too!! FI and I were just talking about thank you cards the other day and i had considered making them... seems easy enough!! Thanks!
  14. What a great story and how special to have it posted on Yahoo!!! Congrats!!!
  15. Two completely different looks, what is the rest of your wedding design like? Flowers, decor, dinner, party/no party? I had a difficult time between two looks myself, in the end I went with what "flowed" with the vision I had of everything else. While I love the back of dress A, its gorgeous... I think B is unique and stunning! Even more so that you can pull off dress B effortlessly! I may even be a bit more partial to B as I believe it is a pronovias and I know first hand what the chiffon feels like, so soft and light (I'm wearing paola)!! Difficult choice for sure, both look beautiful on you, let us know
  16. FI is in desperate need of a new watch, was looking into a Rolex for him however, I want to get him something that is true to him and not something that he just needs. I may toss around the idea of getting him a different brand, perhaps a TAG, then get him a new "toy" if you will. He is very passionate about fishing and making his own rods, perhaps a new reel for one of them with the wooden storage box engraved with our date. Maybe for our 10yr anniversary we'll upgrade to a Rolex then...
  17. Are you doing and AHR? That's where I am incorporating the personalization... We are traveling with our families only, 18 total and our AHR will have over 100 of our friends and family. I left it up to him to pick what kind of dinner he wanted for the AHR, and since he is a seafood nut and charter captain on the weekends we are doing a traditional clambake on the water. I'm having a special cake made for him of his favorite fish, a bluefin tuna... Will add little things throughout the decor as well.
  18. I searched through all of the settings yesterday... unless it's hidden somewhere I didn't find it!
  19. I just googled my profile name and sure enough there it all is... clear as day. hmph. Thanks for the heads up!
  20. cheapest i found was through etsy... Was thinking of it myself but my conclusion was they will be heavy to pack and travel with, my guests may not have room to bring them back, the condos we are staying at provide bath sheet size beach towels. Just my 2 cents
  21. We are having a fairly small group of people travel with us which allows for a bit more $ to be allocated to our OOT bags. We'll be personalizing for each couple, FI's dad will be getting his preferred brand of golf balls personalized, my parents will be getting some sort of snorkeling gear, my sister will get some games and toys for the kids.... Standard items to go into our bag - Bubba Kegs - Tortuga Rum Cakes (local to Grand Cayman) - Local Magazines - the Best of Grand Cayman - Waterproof Cameras - Typical Baggie of advil, sunscreen chapstick etc - First Aid Kits - Sewing kits - Soduko or crossword books - Deck of cards possibly a few other little things. working on collecting stuff as I go...
