  1. Of course she did!!! Fairly certain I wouldn't be able to sneak that into the budget without FI spotting it...
  2. Sorry to hjack your thread R!!! @ Tori - My biggest problem are the images I purchased to use for the invites. Without having photoshop or being a skilled graphic designer (although I should have explored that option in college), I am left to match the font color to the image color. It's not terrible as I've found paper from papersource that matches it spot on but it's not perfect (in my mind) and I think we all know how that feels... Thanks for the advice!!! I still may bring it to a printer - not staples and see if they can do anything different.
  3. Where did you order your towels from?! I just ordered my bags last night from Lands End, thinking I may not have enough room for towels but i'm curious anyways...
  4. I have some from my younger days of doing craft fairs and such, making jewelry etc... But I'm thinking that they must make a pair that have smooth plates on the inside, I would think that the kind I have, almost looks ribbed or threaded on the plate would indent the wire when you crimp, no? Making my daily trip into Michaels today, will check them out...
  5. I wish!!!! FI and I have had conversations in the past of picking up and moving to an island... we are both on the same page there, if anything this DW has made me want to go even more (pretty sure I'd miss my family tremendously though)! We did our site check 1 year to the date and it was uber hot at 530pm.
  6. In my opinion, organized chaos (only when wedding related) is perfectly acceptable!!! I bet you know where everything is and where to reach for it if you needed it on that table!! Loving the door hangers for while you are getting ready! May have to use that one myself, if you don't mind?! Can't do the regular ones (shhh sleeping form attending ______ wedding) we are staying in family style condos and defeats the purpose. Thanks for sharing!!!
  7. You are on it! Have you posted your dress on the dress board yet?! How many are on your guest list?!
  8. Ooooh!!!! Those are going to look awesome in there!!! Clean and definitely not cluttered (I hate clutter, part of my type A i think)... Nicely done! As for the callas below... oh so gorgeous but is the $$ worth it?! I really think the focus for your dinner centerpieces is key because people will be sitting and conversing while eating. Outside, I would hope people will be up and dancing!!! I do have a few pictures of submerged orchids this green one below is also from my dinner location, i referred to it before about the color popping... Right with you on simple but makes a bold statement if you will. I would love to see more if you have them!!! Thanks so much!
  9. "Open Air restaurant" swoon those will be dynamite! As for outside, I love that you get to change locations! Keep it simple, for sure! Sounds perfect, carrying through the shells outside - all about the flow right?! Glad yo don't think I'm rambiling, I just start typing what I'm thinking and I go back and read half finished sentances... silly. BTW, thanks for the compliment about the orchids, I have another picture too of green ones with no table linens, they pop in the restaurant as it is all dark mahongany wood.
  10. What is everyone working on?! I got a lot of little checks done today actually! Major Projects Paper: Invites - DIY Boarding Passes, almost ready to print, Monograms done, working on my print tags for my OOT bags OOT Bags - I know it's early but if it's on clearance from the summer I pick it up. On a side note... also working on my invites for my AHR and trying to figure out cost for centerpieces as I'll be DIY'ing those too. It's likeplanning 2 weddings at once!!!
  11. Congrats to you!!! Can it really be 9 months already?! I feel like I just did my site visit and booked it a year to the day WOW! I've been looking at flights, figure we'll book our around 6 months out. Just going to keep aclose eye on pricing. Many of our guests have never traveled int'l so they'll need a lil assistance on when to book too! As for my dress, I ordered closer to the end of June, said it would be in in 3-4 months but they will hold until my first alterations appt on April 4th. Unfortunately (but fortunately) I went to the flagship store in NYC to order my dress, it's a 5 hour drive each way so I can't just swing in to see it. No nightmares and fingers crossed they don't mess it up, don't think they will...
  12. I just read the instructions you posted from the blog... Seems relatively easy, 20g, think I could manage. I thik the wood hanger adds a nicer touch anyways, despite the fact it will definitely hold up your dress
  13. Perhaps something like this?! Just thought I'd share... It's from my "dinner/reception" location. Love at first sight for me, no LED's though...
  14. @ TORI I just saw the shells atop the reeds... LOVE them even more! Great job!!!
  15. Love. Exactly what I was picturing from your description. I too like the stone but agree it's not light enough. I am thinking along your lines of sand in the bottom and a few shells on top, will be perfect! Will you be surrounding with votives? The height makes a statement for sure but they are still "soft" if you will... As for moving them after dinner... if you have a WC that you can trust to move these without disrupting you and your guests, go for it. Are you doing dinner in one room and then dancing and cocktails in another? What will the tables be like in the other room? Personally, I'd probably go for something different - opportunity to introduce another element into the mix or if the tables are round, keep it low to the table just for accent. Could you use your bm bouquets in this setting? Ok... I'm rambiling I do not want to start rumors on the board... but... I just checked the website to try to confirm and they wern't on there. It was a clearance item of sort, straight vase v shaped, I wasn't in there for them so took quick notice and kept on my merry way. I was hunting for apothecary style vases that of which they definitely do have (AHR)
  16. I see you're in Boston... Was just at ikea today and do believe I saw plastic ones there!
  17. Loving the purple paisley as well!!! I could only hope that my printer would print the purple the way it looks on the screen, it definitely prints more pinkish! Thoughts? Using an HP (also does photos) with individual colored ink cartridges, I think Canon does the same as far as the cartridges go... I brought it to a Staples to print, same color effect. Pretty sure they printed on a laser... Think I might be out of luck. Loving your latest project and so looking forward to the final review!!
  18. I love this for it's simplicity, it's meaning, the cultural background and that your FI designed it! The script font looks so nice with it, I definitely don't think it's masculine at all (I'm not a girly girl either)!!
  19. I can picture it and it sounds outstanding! Very creative and I love the height of them. I would think even more so to go with the callas as your centerpieces are simple but elegant (I'm all about flow) I may have to hunt through the canadian threads to sneak a peak... I can only imagine how many there are though, there are a lot of "you" on here As for real real touch flowers, didn't even know!! Apparently all the sites I've seen haven't been real because they've looked fake to me! I'll definitely have to search some more, just got my quote today for my bouquet at 150/200 CI dollars so 180/240 US dollars... ouch!
  20. Thanks for doing the test run for all of us!!! I was curious how these would work! Was there a smell that came from them at all? Usually a pain relieving patch will have a menthol smell... May have to give these a shot! Still really hot in GCM at 530pm
  21. I'm wearing my dress all night! I'm in the market for a short dress for my AHR though...
