  1. Labor of Love... The design process (powerpoint) alone took me far longer than it should but I must disclose, I am one to over analyze and tweak multiple times before finally being satisfied (aka Type A) I started these early so I could take a break between sections as I knew there were multiple parts in the assembly process. I honestly can't rememeber the cost of tools but all in all, paper costs, each invite probably cost me approx $2. Finally they are finished and going out in the mail tomorrow!!! Without further ado...
  2. I asked my photographer for tips, she directed me towards the style me pretty blog. I think your location plays into your attire a fair bit... I drove my FI crazy 2 weeks before the shoot (also coinciding with our trip to the island for our site visit) We are both very simple people, definitely not trendy at all... Whatever you wear make sure you are comfortable i it and it suits who you are otherwise it will show in your photos!
  3. Your day is right around the corner!!!! Please tell me you'll share pictures?! Who's your photographer again??
  4. I am getting married at Caribbean Club and dinner at Luca and no, there is no discount on the rooms. Caribbean Club only has 3 bedroom villas so if you are looking for a place for just the two of you to stay it may be best to look elsewhere. There are definitely cheaper options! Can't help on the videographer, we are only using a photographer, Rebecca Davidson of Picture This. Our budget is probably not applicable to your question as my FI and I have chosen to pay for a portion of Caribbean Club for our guests (without them knowing). Grand Old House does a lovely job and you can do ceremony and reception on site. My best advice to you.... check out crystalblueweddings.com Danielle is an AMAZING, trustworthy resource as it is all wedding things on Grand Cayman! Congrats on choosing GCM! They're aren't many of us on this board!!!
  5. Loving the welcome kit, and the drink flags!!! My favorite might even be the little purple crystal you put on the I do ! one It's the little things that count right?! Hope you had a good dress fitting!!!
  6. Still so very jealous that you guys get purple up there!!! I know I can order it from the site but refuse to pay $9 plus shipping!!! Maybe just one for me
  7. How many do you need?! I'm in Boston, can't imagine the shipping would be that horrible...
  8. They look outstanding! So well organized and very nicely coordinated!!! All of your hard work and time has paid off!!!
  9. Looks great, love the bar menu! What will you post next?! Can't wait for the final thread!!!
  10. We are having a small number of family members travel down to Grand Cayman with us, therefore we are able to spend a bit more on each bag. We are doing one per couple and a larger one for my sister as she is bringing her two kids with her. I was able to get a great deal on Lands End tote Bags so I ordered 8 med size and 1 large one for my sister's. We are including bubba kegs, 2 per bag (1 tumbler and 1 keg), a wedding week survival kit (standard advil, chapstick, aloe, sewing kit, first aid kit etc), playing cards, frisbees, tortuga rum cakes (native to grand cayman), cayman sea salts (also local company), going to do some personalized golf balls for those who play, soduko books or crossword books, underwater disposible cameras, DIY tile magnets (as favors), beach toys for the kids, also going to pick up some local Cayman magazines to put in there as we are going down a few days early. I will also be DIY a welcome packet that will include out timeline on a hand drawn cayman map, photoshare card and a handwritten note to each of our guests. We definitely respect how much money it costs to come on an excursion like thsi and by keeping our guest list small, my estimate these bags will run us about $50 each.
  11. I can respect the need for consistency, can't wait to see the new ones!!!!
  12. I'd be happy to hunt down two more for you and send them up if you want?? Let me know!!
  13. Were you able to get a price adjustment on this trip for past mugs?! I may just have to get a purple one for myself... Thanks for the heads up on Marshalls and TJ Maxx, will check it out!
  14. Super jealous of the purple ones!!!! Were those from Canadian Tire?! Had to scoop up the blue and green myself from walmart here in the states, could only find the purple on their website for $9 a tumbler!
  15. Love the magnets! Great addition! I think we need to get a countdown on for the unveiling of the finished OOT pics!!!
  16. These look great! Nice job with the wording too... May be using along the same lines in the future!
  17. Fabulous. Enough Said!!! There are plenty of shoe addicted brides here, no worries! and to order from Paris... swoon.
  18. I have a $50 voucher to Wedding Paper Divas that I am willing to let go of! I got it through RueLaLa and thought I would be able to use it in time but have found that I am not ready to order my invites for my AHR. The voucher expires on August 31st. I know that doesn't leave much time but for some lucky bride who's ordering invites, or thanks you cards, or anything papaer related this is a great deal!!! The voucher is an email so once purchased through paypal I will happily forward the email. Thanks! Stefanie www.weddingpaperdivas.com
  19. After seeing these in the hangover, I checked them out online and immediately emailed my WC. We are not doing a typical reception perse, just a nice long dinner and had originally planned to move our celebration beachside for a bonfire. Come to find out the bonfire is not allowed (boo!) but setting off the lanterns are! FI loves the idea and hopefully we can convince our photographer to stick around for photos, thinking she will as this is not a common photo opp down in GC. If not my sister will be able to take photos, she does weddings as a side business - just didn't want her "working" during her vacation!
  20. This is such a special way to thank your guests!!! FI and I were talking about a way to do it with pictures, create a card of such, but this is far better and REALLY inexpensive!!! Thank you so much for posting, I LOVE the idea and like the other 20+ brides who have commented before me, I too will be stealing your idea!!!
  21. Congrats and welcome to the board!!! This site has just about any answer you ever need and is so full of great ideas all from DW brides! We are doing an AHR (at home reception) 3 weeks after we get back, it was the only date that worked for us other than November so if we had a choice it would have been about a month apart. I don't think it's too far apart at all! I'd probably try to organize most of it before hand though so youre not coming home and frantically putting together another large party (just my type A personality peaking out here)... Where is Secrets Maroma Beach?!
  22. Still searching for great flat sandals! of course I fell for a pair from Bergdorf Goodman... that being said, they cost about the same as a wedding dress so scratch that but whew we they perfect! Anyways, found this cute colorful pair below, the color is great as it is close to what I am doing with my color scheme! Still searching though... would like to find some that have a little bling!
