  1. Great thread as I was wondering how the sand stayed perfectly for traveling... Love the etsy frame, thanks for the link but also found this one, tough choice! http://www.sandsationalsparkle.com/Unity-Sand-Frame-Kit--Perfect-for-traveling_p_11428.html As far as wording for the ceremony goes, is that up to FI and I? We do not have our officiant booked as of yet, so not exactly sure....
  2. I built mine using posterous. It's more of a blogging site but has a great destination theme as a base. It also allows you to purchase the domain you want for $30 to make it easier for your guests. I made sure it was done before I sent my std's out so family emmbers could get all of their need toknow stuff on the website. Have had great reviews from our families, quite thankful I did it. Also keeps from having to tell your guests the same information over and over again.
  3. May 26, 2012 Caribbean Club - Grand Cayman Island Feels like we were just there doing spot checks and now it's almost August?! It's going to be here before we know it!!!
  4. Check out crystal blue wedding studio - www.crystalblueweddings.com Danielle has been so helpful in the process and has so many great reviews of the vendors on the island, all in one easy place!! We are doing Caribbean Club, dinner at Luca. Our party is much smaller at 18 though...
  5. Gorgeous is an understatement. Screams Pronovias and oh so soft... Love it! Looks very similar to Galante yes?!
  6. I jumped on the Bubba bandwagon... What a great deal! Went with the tumbler myself, $4.97 @walmart right now...
  7. Thank you for the feedback on the punctuation... that is EXACTLY why I put it up here The font that I was using the all small caps one - I forget the name - doesn't have puncuation so I had to insert using another font... time consuming for sure! i did just post it (without corrections) as a pdf so maybe that will help see it better? Thanks again!!!
  8. Thank Tori! I think the reason why things were all moved around is because my laptop uses the most current version of ppt so older ppt versions have a tough time. That being said, I tried the format thing before I posted here, thinking that would be the most obvous way to save it as a jpeg. Unfortunately, jpeg isn't listed as an option. I did however manage to save it in adobe as a pdf so let's try it this way. If that doesn't work then perhaps the older version of ppt will work - see attachment #1 fingers crossed... 9. btw... I love that I can't even open my own attachment!!! Come on 150 posts... fairly close I'd say!
  10. My Labor of Love... I will apologize to those who can not open as I am attaching this as a ppt file. Not sure exactly how to save it as a picture on my laptop. If someone can tell me I'd be happy to repost. Funny part about all of this, FI hasn't even seen these yet as he is on a business trip, hopefully he will love them as if he doesn't he can pony up the $300 for the 10 invites I orignally wanted and just absolutely could not justify spending $30 per invite. Please feel free to critique, make suggestions, point something out I have missed as I have been working on these for pretty much the past 24 hours straight - not to include the countless hours I spent searching for just the right graphics and fonts. I must make note that while I thought ayleebits template was a great place to start, I do not enjoy working in Word so I created this template myself in powerpoint. What I did take from her template and must give due credit was her bar code graphic. These are a work in progress, although I am comfortable shutting my screen down for a bit and coming back to them to tweak... Cheers! Boarding Pass Invite.pptx
  11. Tori - These are outstanding!!!! Your design job really makes everything flow perfectly! I too am a very detail oriented bride and need everything to "flow" Your guests are going to love these!!!
  12. Thanks!! All that lace for 1500?! It simply amazes me how affordable Pronovias dress are... I love lace and agree with you if it were in a church... It does look gorgeous on you even though it's not your dress Online, there is a piece of material that snaps into the back of the dress to give the appearance of a long train. It attaches at the top of the bodice in the back and I won't be using it. The train on it is actually decent, a bit more than a puddle train, I may even be shortening it because I'm not a fan of how chiffon bustles.
  13. I agree with everyone else here, your dress budget should be based on the overall budget of your wedding and or feel. Personally I had a 2500 budget, FI said I could spend whatever but we are paying for this ourselves and I knew with it being destination and a very small family oriented wedding that I wanted simple but not understated. Pronovias carries amazing dresses for very reasonable prices! The material is amazing so soft and couture without the pricetag. I went with chiffon as I wanted it to be cool and flowy in the breeze (hopefully we have one). I orignally started looking at Nicole Miller dresses - perfect for destination - but honestly was concerned with the silk charmuse and sweating through it (sorry to be gross but it's a fact of life in a tropical climate). I went straight to the designer in NYC and ended up with Paola, it was 1500 but got 10% off. So dress and alterations plus tax total $1950. I am not wearing a veil, just some orchids in my hair and my shoes well... I fell in love with a pair of Tory Burch slides but having a difficult time justifying them, we'll see what happens there!
  14. Wonderful News Tori!!! I bet it's gorgeous!!! Can't wait to see a picture! Congrats!!!
  15. I thought this was the Mikaella too!!! I had very similar feelings about 1406, silk taffeta, light and airy, gorgeous shape!! Had to remind myself of the simplicity of our wedding though... @Laurelyn - this is gorgeous on you! Congrats!!! @Tori - toguh choice between Galante and Mikaella - both beautiful for completely different reasons!!! When are you shopping??
  16. GrandCayBride - you look gorgeous!!!! Where did you have your hair done? Having a tough time deciding on that one! Ive heard great reviews of Amy, can't wait to see the rest of the pictures Who did you use for an officiant? Haven't got that one nailed down yet either!! Probably the most important one too!! ls415 - when is your trip?!
  17. Congratulations!!! Looks gorgeous!!!!! So glad the rain cleared for you! I can't wait to hear a full review and more pictures please Who did you use for a photographer?
  18. These are gorgeous! Clean, simple yet make a statement! Where did you find the yellow damask print?! I have been searching through dreamstime, found a few but not exactly what I want. Looking for a classic damask in navy blue/white... Great Job!!!
  19. We have a small group as well, 18 total and our families have never met. We will be staying in 3 bedroom luxury condos and will be hosting/cooking a welcome dinner in our beachfront villa the first night. I have received a little kick back about the cooking part, my parents want us to have it catered but I think cooking together creates a warm casual family environment, perfect for the first evening, besides I love to cook!!
  20. I'm doing a TTD the following day... because of the lighting on the island and we want to stay traditional and not see eachother before the ceremony, we will be doing a portrait shoot before heading to the beach to trash it. It makes for amazing photos and I say one man, one dress... I will be purchasing a short white dress for my AHR, more of a party dress! Can't wait!
  21. Thanks for the advice, I have been in touch with Sarah, thinking I may order just the pass and make the rest myself... investigating options right now, we have a bit of time... As for the steve madden sandals, I put them on my wishlist on the site, I believe they are called groom now... comes in a multi colored jewel (kind of fun!) and the standard clear jewel. they certainly photograph well!! http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/steve-madden-grooom-sandal/3148916?origin=category&resultback=2507
  22. Everything looks so wonderful! I adore ee cummings, what a lovely idea! I have been obsessed with those invites from sproullie designs on etsy... Love them! Just trying to somehow justify the cost seeing how I only need 15... She just created a new color scheme to include what I am using - purple and orange... Did your guests love them too?!
