  1. this seems a bit harsh. jewler's a lemon but not your ring!!!
  2. Congratulations!!! I'll admit, I too have feared for this. I would keep everything exactly the same (okay you'll probably need a new dress!) but i would keep the AHR the same. That way it's just about you and your hubby (baby can steal the show later, lol). Roll with the punches and have the time of your life! You can always plan a mini outting with your besties after baby comes to "celebrate" the way you want
  3. I'm a nurse and never thought for a minute anyone would end up with cholera. My concern was the traveling restrictions. Thanks
  4. I didn't realize we needed the marriage certificate before changing our name. I know people who changed their last name (not after a marriage) for no reason at all.
  5. I'm also wondering about this. I'm trying to talk my fiance into doing this because his parents can't come to the DW and they could be involved in this. I'm hoping its not too much. def don't want to say vows twice!
  6. This is great (as long as there was no drama for you). I think it's hilarious she brought her new man!
  7. I'm so confused. This sounds really messy. Why is this better than a tampon?
  8. Sticking with the solution you came up with: can you have ur uncle by marriage MC the reception and the other one do a reading at the wedding? I'm sure whatever you decide, no one will get upset. It's your day and they all love you very much. good luck
  9. haha i was looking at the wrong post when i responded... Titanic- Leonardo DiCaprio
  10. What happens in Vegas- Ashton Kutcher
  11. We're going to wing it! We are doing the ipod thing as well. we are having dinner seperate from the reception, so who knows how it'll turn out. I'm pretty laid back, so as long as everyone has fun I'm not worried about planning every detail
  12. I'm in LOVE with this! Do you know where the mats came from?!?!
  13. I will definately be laying in the sun bed. Depends on your skin type, but when I get there I WILL burn if i don't have a good base tan. I also always have a bad reaction to ocean water and get a bad rash, the tanning helps dry out my skin and the rash doesn't come! If you do spray tan, be sure to pack a high SPF sunscreen so you're not tomato bride (J/K).
  14. I'm having a smaller wedding and having just my MOH. I definately need help in the isle songs area! Because I have one couple MOH and BM to walk before me should I have a seperate song for them? I don't want it to go on forever while I'm waiting to walk, but I always thought they should be two different songs.... Advice???
  15. I agree. Try to state it in a way that doesn't make people feel guilty if they can't bring stuff. I don't think you're overstepping your boundaries. good luck
  16. I agree. Things happen for a reason. It's sad people are treating you this way, especially so close to your Happily Ever After! The first time I every heard of an AI resort was about 6 years ago when my parents went to Cancun. Guess what?!?! Neither of them drink, ever! Don't let harsh words stick in your mind. They will live to regret this, but they should be the one's to live regreting their decision, not you. You will be a beautiful bride! Good luck and Congrats!!!!
  17. I did get a great proposal from my FI, but you're not alone. When I asked my mom about her proposal this is what she said: "Your Dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I said an engagement ring. He said okay and got me one." That's their great story! The best part is that is really IS a great story. They have an amazing marriage and I hope that my DH and I will be as happy and my parents. My mom's new favorite quote: "its not the wedding (or in this case the engagement) that's important, it's the marriage that follows!"
  18. I do not think this is a situation where you should compromise. Obviously your wedding is NOT a priority for them. Tell them this! Let them know you are hurt and that they are the one's who hurt you. I'm boogled that they would do this to you and I don't feel like you should compromise anything to accomodate them. Good luck!!!
  19. When one of my aunt's found out i was having a destination wedding she talked all night about how no one will come and she laughed when asked if she would attend! Little does she know I would rather cancel the wedding altogether than to have her there! People (relatives or not) don't think before they speak and we have to rise above this and be the better person!
  20. I've experienced the same problem. Unless everyone books the exact same trip, I can't find any deals. One TA quoted me $100 more per person than to book through Expedia! When I told her this, she said to book through Expedia (THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!). I'm having my guests book themselves. Putting info about Expedia and Apple on our wedding website.
  21. Love the idea of an AHR, but it's absolutely NOT in my budget. We are not having an AHR and I don't feel bad about it at all.
