  2. Got my sashes and table runners today!!!! After ordering on cyber monday I have been dreading the arrival of these products. I was sooo worried I would hate the color or the fabric (it just seemed too good to be true!). After opening the box, I am in LOVE! The color (turquoise) is dead on! I assumed i would be spending this week trying to sell them on ebay. Such a relief, and I'm soooo glad I went for it and ordered these!
  3. I know! I can't decide which to use because i can't get through any of them without crying!
  4. I've never been to a shower where only one side of the family is there. I seriously doubt anyone meant to offend you and would guess that maybe it really is a cultural thing (sometimes MILs have a culture all their own).
  5. They do charge $100. Pics I've seen from the gazebo set-up show the isle runner does not go all the way to the end of the isle when using their isle runner. Where is your ceremony? I would say 100 ft would be plenty for a beach ceremony but i'm not sure about the gazebo.
  6. I've never heard of this, but it looks like an awesome idea!
  7. Looking for turquoise, fusha, white, and green paper lanterns...
  8. Getting married June 29, 2011. Family has mentioned having a shower sometime in April
  9. Initally we planned on having an AHR, but.... we are spending a LOT more money than originally planned, so there is no budget left for the AHR. I'm not worried about it though, more people are comming to the DW than we originally thought so we spending our extra cash on a private reception.
  10. I'm not buying bridesmaids dresses, but then again I'm not having bridesmaids. I'm having one maid of honor and I'm not buying her dress, but I told her to get whatever she wants to. I'm very laid back and showed her my colors and I know she'll look fabulous! I don't want her to be uncomfortable or to get something she'll never wear again.
  11. I feel like planning a DW allows our creativity to run wild! I'm soo excited about it. I always thought i'd have a great wedding in a church with all the traditional traditions (lol). Now that we are planning a DW I'm realizing that this is exactly what I've always wanted and i just didn't know it yet. It is kinda hard to let go of your inhibitions (at least for me it is), but once I get going I realize that i do have a lot of ideas and I'm doing this wedding MY way. I'm not having traditional wedding music (that was the first thing to go!) I'm having a lot of fun allowing my imagination guide me and my fiance to our Happily Ever After!!!
  12. LOVE this post!!! I'm a Michael's girl, but their prices can be completely out of control. I've started early and every week I go there and buy 1 item. Yup just 1 item, no matter how cheap. Every purchase you make there you get a coupon for 40% off one item. Sure you may feel crazy using a coupon on something little that only cost $3.00, but in the end the savings are HUGE!
  13. Ugh... I was wondering how long i would hold this infamous noobie status! looks like i've got a ways to go!
  14. Hotel photog is crazy pricey and in my opinion, the pics are a lil cheesy
  15. I've always known i would change my last name when I got married. I find it an honor to take my husband's name. I'm definately going to change it, but I recently did have a private cry over this issue... Giving up my last name almost feel like giving up a part of who i am. My FI just thinks I'm emotional (which i definately am), but it is kinda sad in a way. I really don't know exactly how to explain it, but it does make me a lil sad to know I won't be Sarah Cox anymore
  16. I know I definately lucked out with that one! I wouldn't know what to do if i didn't have her. The hotel photographer doesn't seem very impressive from what I've seen so I would do whatever I could to stay away from that. Also, if you are planning on hiring the ME videographer I suggest you google them and watch some of their videos. (youtube has lots). Just make sure that's what you want before spending your money!
  17. I'm using my cousin Erin Yaeger. She's a professional photographer for Hot Topic in LA. They don't charge vendor fee's if they photographer is staying on property.
  18. I have several guests staying at the ME for 3 nights and several staying 4 nights, so they do allow that. The $5pp/hr is for beer/wine/champagne/sodas no hard liquor. I'm not paying their crazy high prices for liquor. We are having the included dinner at Asadito and liquor is included in that. Our dinner is at 6:30 and reception from 8-11, so people can get a couple good drinks for free before the reception. It's an AI so if people want to go get a drink or two that's fine by me (I'm sure I'll be sneaking off for a cocktail or two)! We also plan on buying a couple bottles of liquor when we get there. My WC said they will provide buckets of ice to keep the bottles cool at no charge. Will probably just get 3-4 bottles and when they're gone, they're gone!
  19. Are you taking things to decorate the wet bar or getting a decoration package?
  20. From what I understand I'm paying $5pp/hr for beer/wine/champagne/sodas and that includes bartenders
  21. We are also going with the included dinner at the steakhouse. We booked the wet bar for a private reception after. Have you decided which place to go with? I'm trying to get idea's of how to decorate.
  22. my WC. she said they have to be 15 seperate rooms in any category for 7 nights not days. sucks
