I really don't want to spend $800 - $900 on invites!! How much of a cost savings was it to DIY? They actually didn't take me that long... I think what took the longest for me was picking fonts that I liked, and getting the spacing right before printing. I bought the inserts as a packet deal, so they were already cut to the right size. I did cut the pink accent layer myself, but that didn't take long at all. I printed all of the pieces myself, put the flower and pearls on, and made the logo stickers for the envelope... I'd say once I decided on fonts, etc, and started printing, all together it took me about 10 hours, spread out over a few nights. I looked at my reciepts and I think it was a total of about $60 for 25 invitations. So just over $2 each.
  3. I am soooo tired! It's way past midnight here, and I have to get up at 5:30am for work... but I was on a roll and couldn't stop. I've finished my DIY invitations, and I love how they turned out! Here are some pics... What do you think??
  4. You're brave to do the running of the brides... but it looks like it paid off! The dress is beautiful!!!
  5. I am getting married in Cozumel too, and I did some searching for photographers there because I didn't want to pay to fly one in. I ended up hiring the photographer that is usually contracted with our resort.... but there were a few others that I saw that were located in Cozumel or in Playa/Cancun area, where it would not cost extra for the location. You can also check Cozumel Weddings, Cozumel Wedding Planner, Cozumel Mexico - Home.... they have a photogapher that works with them a lot, and I had them send me his info and the pics on his website were great... his prices were reasonable compared to the rest. Good luck!
  6. Wow! That''s a great price!! Wish I hadn't already bought mine... but thanks for posting this!

  9. I was wondering about it too, but we decided we might as well do it... at least that way there's no regrets!!
  10. They look great!!! I love the idea of lining the envelopes with your colors.... I was trying to think of a way to "spice up" my envelopes... I might borrow your idea!!! Nice job!
  11. We're getting married in December and we wanted to have a backyard BBQ but we'd have to wait until June for that (we live in MN)... we were thinking that was too long to wait, so we decided to rent a hall and have the AHR in March, 3 months after the wedding. Now I'm wondering if maybe we should have gone with our first plan! Oh well...
  12. Very cute!! I like the idea of using photos on one side and quotes and signatures on the other side. Looks nice!
