I tried using some fishing lines to hold them in place but that turned into a disaster. That's why I was so curious as to how you did yours. I pretty much abandoned the idea, but now that I see yours...HELP! ) thanks... -row- * beautiful cake, by the way...and I love the cake table set-up * Honestly, I had the idea, but never tried it at home before we left. I just told the WC what to do, and how I wanted it, and she did it. I'm thinking it may be the type of flowers you are using. are they fresh or artificial? I double checked my pictures of all of our table pictures just to see if this was the only centerpiece that had floating flowers. All of my table centerpieces were floating. So, I think it may be the type of flowers you are using. I used artificial. I purchased them from Michael's. They aren't the real "real touch" orchids, but, it's close enough. Everyone thought they were real! Give it a shot, and let me know the outcome.

The maraca's were only $1.50 per pair! Hacienda Tequila was the name of the store.
  3. Here is a pic of our Cake. I HEART the way it turned out! Our shoe valet. Front says "shoe valet" Back says "Got Sand" This is a picture of when I realized I forgot to put my garter on for the garter toss! LOL! My awesome BM & MOH's ran up to my room to get it for me. But, that was after I realized NO ONE HAD THE KEY TO OUR ROOM! I forgot to take it with me when I left! DH carrying me through the threshold

Let me know if you're ever interested in selling yours! lol By the way, I couldn't really see clearly, but what did you have in your centrepiece? As our centerpiece I wanted to keep it as simple and CHEAP as can be. I used the same Orchid Flower Heads I used to make my MOH/BM/Bride Bouquet. I put 3 white orchids, 3 coral orchids, Sand, 2 fluorolytes and starfish submerged in water. Surrounding it, I had my Table # in frames with my Puppy's picture, votive candles, 2 maraca's which i purchased at the mall at Hacienda Tequila. I used as placecards glass votives that I purchased from Michael's and wrapped them with our guest names. and wrapped it with a colored ribbon of their dinner choice. For the escort cards, I purchased white starfish from Ebay, and attached our guest name with the table #.

Supplies: Fishing Line Crimp Beads Crimping Tool Crystals I guestimated the length of the fishing line by making it a little taller than my bedroom door. I then crimped a bead at my desired spot, added a crystal, and then another crimp bead, and crimped it right above the crystal. That way the bead will not move. I then spaced out on the fishing line approx. 10 inches and crimped another crimp bead, and repeated the process until i had about 16 crystals on the strand. Easy Peazy done deazy!

I was going to bring them with me, but, it just made it easier to rent.
  7. This is it for now. I'll have to update some of the other stuff at a later time. Thanks everyone for looking!
  8. THE RECEPTION STUFF: The Guest-Tree Sign in Table: I originally BORROWED my girlfriend's manzanita tree branch that she used for her wedding. I handcarried this bad boy, giving me scratches on my legs and arms... Come to the end, when we tried to go through customs when we arrived in mexico, after running it through the xray machine 4 times.. I couldn't bring it through. =( But, my GREAT MOH & BM went zip lining 2 days before our wedding, and smuggled into the resort 2 branches they took from the dessert! After all that, it was better than the manzanita tree branch only because it had a HILARIOUS story behind it!
  9. THE CEREMONY SET UP I purchased the Chair sashes from Weddinglinensdirect.com I loved working with them! I also purchased the Orchid strands from a fellow BDW member, and I made the "Bling" strands from Chrystals. Rev. Marco was awesome and had everyone crying!
  10. TO-GO CAKE BOXES & sign: "sweet dreams! Enjoy your midnight snack! on box sticker. My MOH's little sister designed the Sign: "Too full for cake? Take it for later! The guest loved it! I also handed out White Handled paper bags with a sticker that said "Thanks for Attending" no pic =( TEQUILA & CIGAR TABLE: The sign's were in the wrong place, but, it didn't matter... People got the jyst of it! The Snuggle up sign was supposed to be on the Pashmina table. But, who cares at this point!

  12. Where to begin! Before my now DH signed me on to this forum, I was such A Hopeless-Bridezilla who didn't know what to do with herself! I was seriously so manic because I didn't know where to begin! After 48hrs of nonstop being a BEST DESTINATION WEDDING FORUM STALKER I seriously had our wedding planned in 1 month. My hat certainly comes off to Tammy for starting up this forum for us Hopeless-Bridezilla's (in my situation) out there!! SO here it goes: THE ENGAGEMENT: It happened Christmas '08'. The best Xmas ever! Long story short, we were running late for church, and DH goes into the garage which i thought was to feed our dog-Greyson. As they both come into the house, Greyson runs up to me with Cute Reindeer antlers on, and DH says he's wearing my gift! Thinking to myself-he's not wearing a new snowboarding outfit, I notice a box hanging from his neck, I take the box from Greyson, and as I open the box, A shiny object falls to the ground! If you can picture an adult yelling "NOOOOOO" in slow motion, like her piece of cake is falling to the ground, and a big 85 pound pitt bull thinking a treat was thrown at him, running towards the same little shiny ring. It was the funniest thing! I shove Greyson away telling him "I DON'T WANT TO WAIT 3 DAYS FOR IT TO COME OUT".. I thanked my ring bearer with a big hug, and a pet on the head.. And me we make it to church 15 minutes late! Originally, my engagement ring was on a plain white gold band. In June, we went to the Jewelry Disctrict in LA to upgrade my wedding set and to also get his band. These are our rings: Mine: His: My RingBearer: THE GOWN: I purchased my gown at Novella Bridal Located in downtown SF on Maiden Lane during the Jasmine Collection Trunk Show. In purchasing my gown during a trunk show, I received 10% off, bust to floor hem for Free, and also a Free custom Veil! Sweet Deal! Since this is a POST Wedding planning thread, I'll show you the dress in the wedding pics. Front: Back and Veil: MY SHOES: Barefoot during the ceremony Reception Heels & Flats: Jimmy Choo's~in Silver Giuseppe Zanotti in White THE JEWELRY: Givenchy Bracelet and Earrings I don't have a picture of it on hand. But, my earrings were a chandelier type and the bracelet had chrystals on it. My DH gave me as my wedding gift a 1c princess cut diamond necklace to match my engagement ring, along with a pair of princess cut diamond earrings. He's such a winner! So I just had to wear it on my wedding day! Sorry. no pics yet. THE FLOWER GIRLS: Ordered from Weddingtutu.com. I loved doing business with them and were super fast! Pails i bought from Michaels and just embelished it with our ribbon, and orchid and a "C" pin. I purchased ballet slippers from Payless. The girls loved them! THE RING & COIN BEARER: Shirt-Calvin Klein from Macy's, pants-Gymboree
