But I was thinking that printing them on rack cards from Vistaprint would have been just as easy and then you wouldn't need to laminate them. HTH We must have been typing at the same time. The rack cards are a good idea though... I hadn't thought of that! Sounds better than laminating them myself!
  2. I'm planning on doing some too, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I've read somewhere on the forum that some people have printed them through Vistaprint... that's what I'm going to do. If you order them as brochures, you can get 3 on a sheet, then cut them when you get them... I'm going to get laminating sheets and laminate them at home, then use a circle punch to punch a hole in the top so they go onto the door knob.
  3. We're also using "together with their families".... feels better including everyone all together.
  4. I don't think it's too early either... ours is on December 10th in Mexico, and I'm asking for RSVPs by Oct 17th... so we're looking at about the same amount of time.
  5. I only listed information on our AI resort, and on the STD card I referred people to our website for details.... on the website I simply added a statement under the resort information that said something like "Because this is an all-inclusive resort and all of the wedding activities will take place at this resort, guests wishing to attend the festivities must be guests of this resort as well." No one has had anything negative to say about it yet, and the 20 that have booked have all said the resort looks great on the internet and they're excited to go there.

I hate speaking with people on phone banks, because they don't get paid very well, so they tend not to care too much about doing their job correctly or about giving good customer service. Sometimes managers value their jobs a little bit more at those places and will work harder to solve the problem. Also, if you really wanted to get results, you could tape the conversation (or just tell them you are taping the conversation) and see what a difference that makes in their level of customer service. Good luck! It's both the airlines and Travelocity... the airlines have changed a flight, which makes the connection not possible now as well... so Travelocity is saying that there are no other possibilities for flights, and we need to fly them into Cancun and have them take the ferry over to Cozumel. The problem I have with Travelocity is that every time one of us talks to them we get a different response... a few weeks ago when we were doing this, they told me there was absolutely no option for the 2 of us and we would have to change dates or cancel... then they told my MOH, who was booked on the same flight, that they would move her and her husband to a different connection... so when she challenged them on that and said that I had just been told that wasn't an option, they said "don't worry about it... we'll just do this" so she demanded to talk to a supervisor, and the supervisor conferenced her in with the actual airline rep, who said the flight that Travelocity was trying to change her to, doesn't exist. I swear Travelocity has no idea what they're doing!
  7. Sorry if I'm venting... but I'm really frustrated with this whole travel issue. We're getting married in Dec in Cozumel, and we have people coming from several different states, and many wanting to go on different dates, etc... so we decided not to use a TA or group rates and just let everyone do whatever they they wanted on their own (we both have very opinionated families, so it seemed better just to say - you're on your own - book whatever you want). So we booked our own trip through the internet (Travelocity) and some of our family & friends booked the same flights, etc... Two weeks ago I got an email from Travelocity that I needed to call them about my flights... that turned into 3 different phone calls, each of them an hour long, and ended in me cancelling our package for the 2 of us and rebooking through a completely different site & airline, at a rate of $200 more per person. My mother, my aunt, and 2 of my attendants all had the same email from Travelocity, and all 4 of them got different stories from Travelocity when they called. Two of them are still booked and praying the "plan" they were given works out... and two of them cancelled the trip & rebooked like I did. After trying to relax for the past week and forget that mess... I get an email from Travelocity this morning about my future in-law's flights... my honey booked their packages for them, so we are now getting the email saying there's a problem... so I call them to find out what's happened, and find myself in the middle of yet another ridiculous situation with Travelocity, and they're not even my own flights!! I am trying so hard to take care of this for my future family, rather than pulling them all into it... but I'm tired of arguing with travel people!!! There's just no way to satisfy all of our opinionated family members... I DON'T WANT TO BE DEALING WITH THIS!!! I have enough to do with my DIY invitations, OOT bags, and everything else! UGH. Sorry for venting... how do the rest of you get through the stress of transportation issues
  8. Looks like #2 is the winner!!! That's the one that Jeff likes best too.... Thanks for the feedback! #2 it is!
  9. We're getting married in Cozumel, which is the island right off of Playa Del Carmen... we're doing a sunset cruise after our wedding, and the resort guy who runs the cruises said that in December the sun sets about 6:30-6:45.... so you should have plenty of time in the light, and then watching the colors as it starts to set but it shouldn't completely go down until about 6:30.
  10. Thanks for posting this!! I had heard of it, but never really knew what exactly it was. My wedding coordinator hasn't said anything about this option... but I think I'm going to see if this is something we can do!
  11. I'm re-designing our monogram so it's more formal... the pics are blurry and I can't figure out how to fix that... but which one do you like better??

    Congrats!! Welcome to the forum!
  14. kate.com - I love the votives and peppers!!! We're doing a Mexican fiesta AHR too... still in the beginning of planning for that, but right now (until I change my mind AGAIN) here's what I'm thinking for tables... while we're in Mexico, we're going to go to a store and buy a bunch of small bottles of hot sauce. For the AHR I'm thinking a small tin pail (like a beer bucket) with a ribbon around the outside in our wedding colors... then I'm going to "stuff" the bucket with sand half way, and then throw in a bottle of hot sauce for them to use on their food, maracas (also planning to buy those in Mexico) and a small bottle of tequila.... we're thinking of doing personalized shot glasses at each seat, and the table can do their own shot of tequila if they want (it's an all adult reception). I may change my mind for the hundreth time... but that's what I'm thinking right now.
  15. You can do it either way... we sent out very casual STD's and are doing a more formal invitation... but I love the passports as invites too! Just depends on what you want to do!
  16. I'm going to try to find a much cheaper dress that I like and wear that for our TTD pics... I don't want to ruin my wedding dress because I'll wear it for our at home reception later on.
  17. We booked a private sunset cruise for after the wedding & dinner... but that's really more part of our Mexico reception, so we're paying for it. Some of our guests have asked about deep sea fishing and things like that, and instead of booking it and paying for it, I'm sending out a pre-trip newsletter and I'll include all of "extras" that are offered through the resort. That way they know what's available and they can book it & pay for it themselves if they decide to do it... that way it's still their vacation too, and I'm not planning the whole thing for them.
  18. I've never heard that before either... I've already used mine, and we're not getting married until December!
  19. I love the sayings you put on the tags! May have to borrow some of those. Great job!!
