  1. I would love to be able to do a site visit to our resort, but airfare to T&C is just so expensive that we just can't. I just have to rely on all the reviews and info I've found on this forum
  2. I'm almost 7 years older....when we met, I had already been engaged twice, had a kid, and had been on my own since I was 18, and here he was, still in college and living at home. It used to freak me out a little bit, but now I'm used to it. Plus he's done a lot of growing up since we started dating.
  3. Great planning thread - thanks for sharing!! I especially love the reserved seating tags...I don't think I've seen anyone do those before...very creative
  4. I just did a search thru all the planning threads looking for Turks & Caicos and you are the only one to do a planning thread so far!!(at least it was the only thread that came up in my search results) Yayy for being the first!! We need more T&C brides on here, lol!
  5. My picks were already nominated...good luck ladies :)
  6. We fly in on either Sat or Sunday and our cermony isn't until Thursday so I know that no matter how much sunblock I use, I'm going to get some color before the ceremony...so I really need to find a strapless bathing suit or maybe a convertible one where you can remove the straps or move them to halter style, etc. Unfortunately this isn't easy when you're on the busty side (DD). Any other busty girls out there that can recommend a strapless bathing suit with enough support for the girls?
  7. Congratulations and welcome to the forum!!! The ladies on this forum are super sweet and helpful and there is soooo much info posted that I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for. Happy planning!!
  8. Everything looks fabulous, and I love your colors! Congrats and thanks for sharing!! Also - have you posted the template you used for the room key holders? I love the design and would love to borrow it!!
  9. haven't had in awhile : a good night's sleep
  10. Sorry about the rude remarks, and yes, I've heard them as well....not about T&C, but we did consider mexico in the beginning and FMIL said she wouldn't go because it's too dirty, and she bitched up a storm when we were boooked in Jamaica as well. I think you just learn to have to let any negative comments roll right off you. We did end up changing our venue, but I didn't really mind because T&C was my first choice anyway, but I thought it would be too expensive for our guests. So now when FMIL complains about the price, I just remind her that SHE was the one who refused to go to any of the less expensive reosrts we picked so now you just have to deal with it!! So try to not let it get to you, and if you do need to rant, you know we're all here to support you
  11. Congratulations and welcome to the forum!! There is tons of info on this forum so I'm sure you'll find everything you need to plan your dream DW. As far as a pavillion goes, I think that most resorts have several choices for where your ceremony can take place, and lots of them include a gazebo. Try doing a search for the word "gazebo" and I have a feeling you'll find what you're looking for But I've included a few links to reviews where a gazebo was used as well.... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...eview-k-54589/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...c-heavy-58646/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...vy-pics-60399/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...vy-pics-53639/
  12. something I'd like to try : zip line

  14. Hi Lena!! Welcome and congratulations!! This forum is absolutely loaded with information, so I'm sure you'll find all the info you need to pick a resort and start your planning!!
  15. Thanks for sharing - everything looks amazing!! And you are so lucky to have so much time off to be able to spend together after the wedding. I'm positive you are going to have a fabulous time! Congrats!!
  16. Congrats on finding your dress (and at a great price as well!!) and I wouldn't worry about hurting your mom at this point. After all, you did invite her and SHE was the one who bailed on you not once but twice. I know it was important to have her there but you can't control what other people do, and like someone else mentioned, you can always invite her to your fitting appt. so she can see the dress as well.
  17. delicious : birthday cake flavor ice cream
  18. Hi Daphne - don't feel bad, mine is also at 11am and it's frustrating because it was originally at 4pm, but then we switched resorts and had to move the time. 11am is definitely not the time we wanted but I don't want to switch the date so we're trying to figure out a way to make it work. I don't mind so much about the time gap, but I'm worried that as the day goes on my hair and makeup will get messed up and by the time dinner rolls around I'll be a mess! So we're thinking that the ceremony and reception will take us until at least 1...maybe 2. Then we can take an hour or so to relax and freshen up, and around 3:30 or 4, we'll go offsite to get our pictures done (we want sunset pics) and then by the time we get back it will be time for dinner. So even tho it may not be the ideal time, there are ways to make this work
  19. Good choice on the curve Lisa!! I've had my curve for almost 2 yrs now and love, love, love it!!
  20. Sarah - what an amazing planning thread!! You did a great job, and I'm positive that your guests will adore everything and all of your hard work will be so worth it!! Thank you for sharing with all of us and thank you for including the links to all the templates as well!! Congrats!!
  21. I love this thread - such great ideas - but unfortunately a lot of the pictures from the older posts are no longer valid links.
