  1. Sorry I can't help on where to find the dress but it's gorgeous!! I hope you are able to find it!!
  2. 20 lbs is still a great accomplishment Pam! I know it may not be your goal, but be proud of what you've done
  3. Hi Veronica....I was wondering where you bought the votive holders? The color isn't right for me, but I really like the style. Thanks!

  6. Well I sure hope it's ok to not send invitations via snail mail because I don't think we are this time! The first time around (for those of you that don't know we had to reschedule our date for 1 yr later) I sent out STD's about 11 months in advance - the STD's included our wedding web site. Then we sent out physical invites about 4 months before which included a postcard for the RSVP. We had received just about all the RSVP's back when we had to announce the date being rescheduled. So I'm thinking that if people weren't able to make it the first time, they probably won't be able to make it this time, and I think it's silly to send everyone new invites when we know it's only going to be about a dozen people attending. So this time around I was thinking about just doing an e-vite and include the link to our web site which will have updated wedding info. What do you ladies think?
  7. From what I've seen posted, it seems like a lot of brides have someone close to the couple (MOH, sibling, or another close friend maybe?) deliver the book to the groom before the ceremony. I've also see that many brides make sure the photographer is nearby to capture the groom's reaction I haven't gotten this far in my planning so I can't speak from experience just yet, lol.

NEVER. not once. and when linds met me in chicago, she kept remarking, "those are some perky boobs, cougs" and i kept insisting it was just the bra, haha (it was!). THIS was the bra! If I can have someone tell me how perky my boobs are while I'm wearing a strapless bra I'd be a happy camper!!! I'll need to check this bra out!!
  9. You are def not the only one Lisa!! And I feel like such a lazy ass because I blew it the first time around, and now that I had to reschedule my wedding it's like I've been given a second chance at this, so you think I'd be jumping all over the opportunity!! I really need to do something about it tho.....
  10. I thought it was Dawn soap? lol
  11. I'll just throw this out there in case it can help you or any other CR brides. During all my research I found a couple of locations that I think are just beautiful..... This was a recommendation from my FBIL and FSIL. They do quite a bit of traveling and out of any tropical vacations, they said this was their favorite by far. It looks absolutely amazing and FI and I are thinking of doing a one year anniversary trip here Check out the pics of the room accomodations...the view is just stunning!!! Hotel Villa Caletas - Jac Beach, Central Pacific Coast, Costa Rica. Hotel Villas Caletas jaco beach Costa Rica, small distinctive hotels of Costa Rica, Costa Rica hotels, Costa Rica beach resorts, luxury hotels of Jac beach Costa Rica, river raftin Then at one point we were also considering renting a house for us and our guests - since we are also doing a small ceremony - and I came across the villas below. I exchanged a few emals back and forth with Heather who manages the rentals and she was so easy to work with. The price sounds high but when you break it down by couple, it really isn't that bad. And most of the rentals were all inclusive too...chef, cleaning service, house boy, etc..and Heather also sent me a list of excursions/day trips that are available to book and they will pick you up right at the house. In the end this didn't work out for us, but I still think it would be an amazing place to have a wedding!! About Costa Rican Villa Rentals Good luck with your planning, wherever you decide to have your DW!!!!
  12. Hi Lisa!! Congratulations and welcome to the forum!!! I LOVE Negril and it was my original DW...long story on why the location changed, but if you have any questions about Negril, ask away, lol! And happy planning!!!
  13. Def make your reservations as soon as you can!! We were still debating on resorts last month so I was in full research mode.....I talked to one resort last month that had no availibility in the room category we wanted...and I talked to another a couple of weeks ago that had NO rooms available at all the week of our wedding (granted, this was a smaller resort so they fill up quickly, but still....)!! So we decided we really needed to get this moving and I finally called to make our reservations at Beaches and there was only one wedding time slot remaining for that day, and I took it!! I'm just waiting for an invoice from our TA to make it all final but I have my fingers crossed!! So my point is...if you have a particular date or resort that you really want I would book quickly. If you are more flexible and would be ok with switching dates/times/locations, then you can probably wait a little bit, But it's nice to get it booked so your guests can start planning and saving as well
  14. If you do a search for some of the threads were other brides have posted their TTD pics...or links to their pics....you could get some great ideas. You could also check out web sites of photographers that do DW's and I'm sure they have some TTD pics in their portfolios. Also....I think it's fine to give your photographer a list of some "must have" moments, but you don't want to try and plan each and every picture or else it will seem to stagedl. You want something that reflects you as a couple and something that feels natural....JMO
  15. Another Chicago bride - yay!!! Congratulations and welcome!! You def came to the right place for planning, and I have seen brides on here plan in under 6 months so I know it CAN be done!!

Did you wear the bra totally strapless? And you didn't need to constantly hike it up? Haven't started shopping for sundresses just yet but will definitely need some support under there!! Or.....if I could just get motivated enough to work out more, I could get the girls down to a full C/small D if I could get to my goal weight and then this would be as much of an issue!! But nah...that would be too easy, lol.
  17. I'm loving this thread...I'm only about half way through, but you ladies have posted some really beautiful pics. I'm going to try and finish reading the other half later tonight Quote: Originally Posted by beyondsmitten I have totally different advice for someone who does not wear makeup, if you never put it on I would TOTALLY not advise that you choose your wedding day to experiment. This is exactly of what I'm afriad of. I normally don't wear a lot of makeup...normal for me is some powder to absorb shine and even out my skintone a little mascara, and lip gloss. If we are going out then I add eyeliner and maybe a little shadow, but not tons. So on wedding day, I want to look polished, and I also want makeup that won't leave me looking washed out in our pics, but I also still want to look like me. As long as you buy $50 worth of products (which I have no problem doing,) the makeup application is free! Woo Hoo! You other brides may want to call the customer service number on the MAC website and find out if there is a MAC location at your destination and you can pretty much get your makeup done for free. Just buy some of the stuff they used! This is an awesome idea! I looked on the MAC site and unfortunately there don't seem to be any stores in Turks & Caicos Quote: Originally Posted by blushingbride I like both her hair and makeup and this is my inspiration. 21. I'm glad to see something posted on this subject...FI and I have def already been together but was thinking about asking him if we should stop for a certain period of time before the wedding. I have a feeling he's going to look at me like I'm crazy!! I'm still undecided on how long we should wait....our DW is in May, so it could be for that whole year (which would be just over 4 months since our DW is the beginning of May) or maybe just for the month before? I think the waiting would be hard for him, but with all the stress I have lately, it's just killing my sex drive, and if my schedule is as crazy as it is now, I think I might be able to wait with no problem. I might actually appreciate the extra sleep, lol!!
  22. I also wanted to comment about the whole upgrade thing....Obviously every bride on here (including myself) would love to be upgraded, but the fact is, it doesn't always happen. It seems like a lot of people (and not just brides...I have seen reviews on Trip Advisor for normal vacations as well) book the cheapest category room with the expectation that they'll be upgraded and then they pitch a huge fit when it doesn't happen. Sometimes the resort is fully booked and it's just not possible. My suggestion is to book a room that you would not be disappointed with if you don't get upgraded - that's what we're doing. We're not booking the cheapest room, and we're not booking a suite either. If we don't get upgraded, I'll be perfectly happy wth our room....and if our TA or the resort can swing an upgrade for us, that's fabulous too

I made the mistake of originally booking with another company that supposedly specializes in DW's but they really didn't. So I learned my lesson and this time have decided to work with TA Jennifer from this forum since she specializes in Beaches/Sandals resorts and that's where we are having our DW. Or if you know what resort or area you are interested in, you can look from posts from other brides - especially their reviews - and see who they used for a TA.
