  1. I thought this thread had died for good...I miss talking to you ladies! I'm going to be in TO along with cougs and would love to meet you as well Lisa
  2. We are 11am...definitely wasn't my first time choice but it was all that was left when we booked so we''ll make it work
  3. Our date is May 5th too...we leave on April 30th!! What time is your ceremony? Brandy - love the review and all the pics!! Everything looked perfect!!
  4. I found some on etsy...but thank you everyone for the suggestions
  5. Kellygrrrl - I definitely appreciate the offer of the new starfish, especially since our dates are exactly one year apart But I think you should let Mochamakes3 start your journal since I already have another starfish lined up. But just wanted to say thank you so much for the offer And I love that you starting your starfish on a journey BEFORE your wedding - it will be so fun to read about all the brides before you. I wish your starfish a safe adventure for the next year!
  6. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm in Chicago so we don't have those around here
  7. Anyone have any extra fuchsia pashminas that they are looking to sell? Please PM me if you do! I only need 3 and unfortunately this is way below the minimum of any of the wholesalers online Thanks in advance!
  8. I don't know what you have left but I am interested in - 4 of the first aid kits 8 of the lip balms 4 of the lint rollers Please pm me if items are still available and how much $. Thanks!
  9. I know I posted that I was going to possibly purchase a new starfish to keep the the dc22173 clear stafish thread going, however I wanted to let you all know that I won't be doing this. Luckily a very dear friend has offered to let me borrow hers instead and I know that I just won't have time to keep track of a starfish once we get back from our wedding so I don't want to start something I know I can't finish. Just wanted to let you all know in case someone else wants to buy a new one to keep the dc22173 list going. I still think this is a great idea and hopefully someone will keep the starfish traveling
  10. A and A - I am the day after you so will be at the resort when you are having your wedding...I may have to walk by and sneek a peek at just beautiful your wedding is
  11. We ordered a suit about a month ago in the beige linen and we just received it yesterday and I was definitely happy with the quality. We had the measurements taken at a Men's Wearhouse (they did it for free even tho we didn't by anything) and the suit is almost a perfect fit. It's a little off in the rise (crotch) area....like if FI were to bend over or squat, that area just seems a little tight but nothing major. It would be fine without alterations, he would just want to be a little careful so he doesn't split a seam when bending over, lol. But I told him to take it to Men's Wearhouse and see if they can make alterations so we'll see what happens. Regardless - I'm still very happy with the suit, especially for $100! I have pics on my phone - will try to post.
  12. I feel bad that the little starfish is in such bad shape but I guess that's to be expected when he's been traveling for a couple of years now. dc22173 - do you think you want to just retire the starfish and keep the journal at this point? I'd be willing to buy a new starfish and start a new journal to keep the tradition going. I just don't know if it would get to Teira in time?? NurseM - I could be wrong but I think your dates were too close to another bride that was on the list before you? What are your travel dates again?
  13. UH OH!! Please let us know once you hear back from her.....
  14. Our wedding is this May and I just booked with them a few weeks ago, so I think you have a little bit of time to make a decision
  15. We have booked a private excursion with Atabeyra as well but it was a flat rate....not per person. We are booked for a half day excusrion with lunch (5 hours total) and it was just over $1000....$1100 maybe? I've heard such great things about them...we are definitely excited!!!
  16. We are getting married at Beaches T&C and I have a question for girls that have brought their own music on an iPod. I'm wondering on how many songs you selected for each part of the wedding? Since we are doing the one hour reception, that piece is easy to figure out...I know that we need about an hours worth of music (maybe just a couple extra songs just in case we run late) with the first dance song somewhere in the middle maybe? But what I'm more concerned with is timing for the music while guests are being seated...I'm guessing I should have 2 or 3 songs picked out for before the ceremony starts? And then obviously I need one song for when I walk down the "aisle". And then do they play music while we are signing the papers or doing our sand ceremony? So maybe I need one song for each of those? And then one song for after the ceremony when we leave and walk down the "aisle" together? I just want to make sure I have everything timed right so hopefully the WC isn't playing the wrong songs at the wrong times, lol. What do you ladies think?
  17. We are planning on doing the one hour private reception. The main reason we chose the 1 hour over the 30 min is just to make sure we have enough time to do first dance....father/daughter dance...mother/son dance and have our cake/champagne toast....and I didn't want to feel rushed at all. I really don't care too much about the hors d'ouevres ....although now that I'm thinking about it, those stupid hors d'ouevres will probably almost be our lunch, lol...since our wedding is at 11am and then after the 1 hr reception we leave the property with Tropical Imaging for pics. So we won't eat again until dinner that night. Guess I need to make sure I order a great breakfast from room service, lol.

Please do not disappoint the brides after you by committing to this if you don't think you will send it off in time.
  19. Thank you so much for the info Krys! And I will stay away from the #3.
  20. I hope you were able to work this out? I guess we all forget that the starfish needs to end it's journey and go back to it's original owner permanantly at some point, lol. Depending on how many journal entries are still available, maybe you can set a date that you'd like to take the starfish out of circulation? I mean if you want it to keep traveling that's completely fine too I also wanted to add that borrowing your starfish means a lot to me because it was also used by a couple of girls that I have become great friends with (and have actually met in person) so being able to share that piece of their wedding is really sentimental for me. So thank you for leaving in circulation this long I have been so busy with work that I haven't been on here very much at all and I feel guilty. Have there been any new requests to be added to this line up? If there are changes please let me know - maybe PM'ing me is the best way to make sure I see your comment?
  21. These are the first pics of my actual flowers...still need to make a couple of changes (adding more fuchsia flowers and changing the ribbon to fuchsia) but so far I'm pretty happy with them https://picasaweb.google.com/AngelsAccents1/HeatherS?authkey=Gv1sRgCLjas_LA06221gE&feat=directlink
  22. I just wanted to share that I ordered my real touch flowers from Angels Accents and she has been fabulous to work with! I just received pics of my flowers this week and I did ask for a couple of small changes (wanted fuchsia ribbon instead of orange) but I am so happy with what she has done so far! https://picasaweb.google.com/AngelsAccents1/HeatherS?authkey=Gv1sRgCLjas_LA06221gE&feat=directlink
  23. Thank you Misti - I was trying to not travel with them if possible (one less thing to worry about packing ya know?)...plus I figured it might be nice to find some local cigars that maybe the boys haven't tried before as well. But thank you for the info anyway awwwwww sorry to hear your girls are sick. I had emailed Ileana about my wedding the other day and Andy replied and told me that she was sick. I hope she didn't have any weddings booked this weekend. I haven't had the flu in years and years (fingers crossed) but I do remember how awful it felt, so I hope everyone is feeling better soon!! Thank you so much for all the info! I would definitely love to leave the property at least once (besides our wedding shoot) to explore a little bit and maybe do a little shopping. I love the little shops that sell local items...my one requirement that I always buy when we travel is a christmas ornament. But it's good to know that I can buy cigars locally (as well as Cubans)...that saves me some shopping before we leave. Plus I was worried about the cigars drying out while we travel since they obviously wouldn't be in a humidor during that time lol. And I did email David last week to book a private sailing on the Atabeyra as well - thanks again for the referal!
  24. Krys - if you are around I have a question for you. We are doing OOT bags and I wanted to include cigars for the men, but I don't want to travel with them and would prefer to buy them once on the island (I actually don't even know if I could bring them from the states if wanted to? Not sure how customs works with that stuff). Is there anywhere either at the resort (Beaches) or close to the resort , where I'd be able to buy a few cigars? Thanks in advance!
  25. You do need the marriage license in order for it to be legally recognized....but like Tenny said, you could just go to the courthouse and do the legal stuff in the states and then do a vow renewal type ceremony in T&C?
