I know completely not useful info but i know here in PR Costco and Sam's Club do not make the cupcake kind. They do however make the 3 tiered cakes etc but they dont use fondant just like a whipped topping. So i guess a limited amount of what you can get done in the US but still probably a viable option. I always purchase these cakes for my sons bday's and actually contemplated purchasing it for our wedding lol! if it weren't because of a hidden gem found through a friend locally I would've! !

I hear you on that one! Except i dont think FI and I will be able to buy a house before April... I know wishful thinking but i hope the re extend the tax credit again.... =( Good luck in your search I know what you mean about the current house market, honestly, have you spoken to a realtor? We were investigating realtors in NY Queens area that also worked with LI for us to help our search. We tried for about a year on our own and honestly have come to the conclusion that with the help of a realtor its much less stressful. HtH

I used to be addicted to step aerobics back in the day (and still love it!) but i've become obsessed with spin classes over the last year! lol I wonder if there is anyone out here who shares my passion for it! It's hysterical I dread getting up at 5am to do it but gosh do I feel great once im done. Now if I can only get that sort of passion for strength training ~!!!!

Ok girls after debating with my cost conscious self for a couple of days I decided to go again today and try the dress on once more.. ... I decided to go for it couldnt take it off yet again felt like ME! They did my first fitting on the spot! This is my second marriage but my FIRST wedding, I never thought that the dress would be important to me, and even though its definitely not as important as being with Stephen that day, I loved that for the first time I saw myself through his eyes like he sees me everyday. I felt beautiful...I can finally say I found THE ONE! Thank you all for your great advice like ive always say you ladies ROCK! -
Its a great location. I wouldn't worry at all about fitting 20 ppl there and a band honestly. Rooms tend to look alot smaller in pictures than IRL =)..

Vent Your Pet Peeve with FI LOL's
**~Linda~** replied to Preciousmi811's topic in Just venting or funnies
Oooh i have plenty!!!...I have summarized them like so: Bag lady syndrome -He is a secret closet old bag lady, collects any piece of paper and leaves it lying around or stuffed in a drawer in his desk. There are like 10 yr old papers there and he won't throw any away!!! Clutter Male Syndrome- Many males suffer from this, mine is no exception. He is used to piling his shoes in a corner and not putting them away. He thinks its easier to find them all that way. He also does this with clothes and any electronic gadget he owns. He stuffs them way in the corner of a closet or somewhere because as he states "they are easier to find that way". Enunciation and Writing Impediment- My FI is an engineer who likes to blame on his New York accent his faults at verbal and written skills.. He tends to write things like he says it, an example of this is Linda I "spelt it right". Darth Vader Syndrome- He breathes on the phone! But its like this really loooouuuud annoying breathing... I have many peeves of folding laundry especially shirts etc. but he does help when he's around alot so I cant really blame him for it. I just refold it again when he's not looking.. Oh god that's alot of peeves!~ hahahahaah -

Oh God the faster it comes by the less prepared I feel. I just got hit with the dress curb ball from h*ll! So ATM im spazing about anything wedding related. I have yet to deal with the music which was supposed to be done last month and i have sat on it like if I were a hen trying to hatch my egg! FI and I have yet to pick out the song we want to walk to or our first dance... We do have the darn walking out to music (gotta love Dave Mathews!). It's a music start i guess.. Sooooo what else am I missing oh yeah along with everything else breathing?!! More so like hyperventilating but yas air is coming through the lungs.. Other than that the rest I have left to chance or faith that everything will get done in time at some point once i know have the final list of how many people are actually attending.. Did i forgot to mention that's next week and like 5 people have called already that they lost their RSVP's aren't people special.. FFS! WTF! On a brighter side of things OMG we are getting married soon gals!!! **Imppearl I love your dress... And that is soo great you were able to share that moment with them. You look gorgeous. **Lisa- Your aunt works wonders she will have it done in a heartbeat! She's done an awesome job taking it in shouldn't be much trouble at all.. And woohoo girl congrats on the weight loss!!

Im not at work today so my mind is racing with thoughts. **Shellk- I've read that in a few threads and quite frankly had given up on the idea of getting "the one" feeling until today. The original idea of a dress was, it fits the budget and it looks good SCORE! After doing the TTD and feeling so awesome in something that was ME I don't know if ill have regrets getting married in something that quite frankly i feel doesn't depict who I am. Urgh hope this all makes sense. OMW now to the store again with one of the bridesmaids wish me luck in making a decision wish I had pictures to show you gals but this boutique is one of those that doesn't let you take any pictures of the dress until you purchase it. -
Im a firm believer in that where there is loud music pumping people will get off and shake what they got! I wouldnt stress to much about it. It will be perfect!

I could go on and on about the story of how everything came about to what and how it is at this point but ill keep it short and give you guys the cliff notes version of it. At the beginning of the engagement i bought a dress at David's Bridal. I never thought of it as the one(you know the tears etc.) just said "huh this looks pretty good". In all honesty out of all of DB dresses this was the best one and trust me i tried all of them on! I always avoided going to the little bridal boutiques here in PR because everyone warned me about their high costs etc and well honestly i just couldn't dish out more than 1K for a dress because it wasn't in our budget. Fast forward to the present i have tried on my dress numerous times. I still haven't gone to one fitting and the wedding is January 17th and still haven't gotten that antsy feeling of loving the dress. FI set up an appointment at one of the little bridal boutiques in hopes that we could find a prom dress type thing or a very nice dress looking bridal dress( if thats even a term) to wear in the AHR in NY. Since the venue changed and we need it to be a bit more formal than the dress we used in the TTD. After i went in the store(it looked quite expensive lol!) she proceeded with me upstairs where she started to show me dresses. I told her my budget and she showed me a style that I wasnt quite sure would work. Since it was in a book she took out a bridal dress so that i would try it on and see if the top part of the dress would suit me. I took one look and started balling I didn't want to take the dress off .. Its so light and comfortable and simple and well me . It dont think i would change a thing about it.. I couldn't believe the feeling that came over me when i tried the darn thing on. I think she probably started thinking i was crazy insano or some type of a wack job case so I proceeded to tell her the whole story of my wedding dress. And right now im torn. As of right now the lady's sample is an 8(it's right out of the bag they just got it in yesterday) and perfect on me every which way. But it costs $1200. How do i justify this to myself .. I know i can always try and sell the other dress but David's Bridal dresses sometimes seem unrealistically hard to re sell. For those of you who became 2 dress brides how did you do it budget wise? FI is a sweetheart he doesn't care either way but with us trying to purchase our first home soon and having to deal with all the wedding costs ourselves I just cant seem to get my mind off the guilt of the money spent. Thanks for listening and im sorry for the ramble!

NY Bridal shoppers
**~Linda~** replied to karenk77's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Is RK Bridal really that much cheaper than alot of places in bridal and everything else? Do you guys know if they have gowns to buy on the spot like samples or are they only special order? -
Its not really a heck no but he hasnt and wont see it until the day. Originally i would've liked him to go with me to pick out the dress but my FMIL flipped out on us as to how it should be concealed etc bla bla bla... I just let it go and gave her what she wanted lol otherwise he would've been there
