  1. Those pics look fantastic i just might have to order one for DH to have just for the hell of it! lol
  2. This was my MIL's dress! She looked gorgeous in it! It's a chiffon im guessing with silk taffeta underlay.
  3. DH did this for our wedding and followed the instructions. Here is a picture it turned out great. We got 2 extra vases(you cant see the other one but its on the other side) from the 99 cent store and decorated them(his and her style the one shown was mine) and here is the end result . Regretfully I don't have a picture of it filled but it worked out perfect and had great meaning since he brought over sand from NY and I poured sand from PR. I was completely against a sand ceremony but would suggest anyone to do it. Its absolutely gorgeous!
  4. Yayyy I can finally post! So DH and I did something out of the ordinary I had asked him at one point in our relationship that if we were ever to get married I wanted to see my "real" ring the day of our wedding. So he proposed with a cute small promise style ring and replaced it on the wedding day. We both saw our rings the day of and here they are DH's ring My ring which i LOVE LOVE LOVE! Bottom Detail
  5. Pop that sucker open girl! Thats the beauty of corset backs! You need to breathe and be comfy in your dress don't let anyone make you not enjoy your wedding due to lack of oxygen !
  6. Black, white and turquoise would look gorgeous as well! I also love the black white and orange idea
  7. Welcome to the forum! Our fitness section rocks So definitely give it a whirl
  8. My gosh! Well for starters if you have tried talking about these issues before i think its time to probably seek some professional help to see if the communication lines open up again to the point where he is actually listening to you and not just hearing you. I believe anyone can change if they want to but it is that "want to change" that is hard to acquire. As you may well know the views that we have in life completely change the perspective of whats correct and what is incorrect. SO while for you and many of us his behavior might seem completely inappropriate and inconsiderate for him it might seem like just a typical day in your marriage. My thoughts are with you, big hugs headed your way!
  9. We got it at Khol's actually it was quite the deal 2 for 1 special it was a saleMalden Signature Frame. I think they still have the sale! DH brought it over from NY in his carry on and wrapped around bubble paper. He also placed the glass behind the mat as well but you could probably leave the glass at your house and just bring the frame with the mat to be signed.
  10. So FI and I finally sat down to review everything and anything wedding related. Here it goes ! Sit back and get your Coordinator - Diferenciate, Inc. Iraida I. Rosario - A++++ She worked for us far beyond what we could ever expect and did everything to our best interest. This was the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding. From the first day to the day of, everything was taken care of to the T. She worked with us on every vendor, not just with the thought of us as a customer, but as friends. She was and is still the best friend we got out of our wedding. Before Iraida we found ourselves lost with so many vendor choices and honestly thought we wouldn't be able to make our budget since many of the recommended vendors charged an arm and a leg for their services. From the day we signed our contract we were in good hands. With a blink of an eye she went above and beyond what our contract stipulated. Fighting for our budget every step of the way and getting us deals we couldn't even imagine. Not only that but she worked out last minute things like hair and make up in a flash. Her extremely professional demure and perfectionist quality made this wedding the best day of our lives. We couldn't recommend her more! Decorators - Konpalos- A++ What can I say about the decorators. My husband and I were both blown away the day of. We had a few meetings with them, showing us ideas and thoughts. Then the actual day came, and it was exactly as I had dreamed it to be. From the flowers, to the tables and even the decorations all around the whole room. We were supposed to have our ceremony on the beach, but due to rain they set up a room on the side LAST MINUTE. Let me tell you this, there is now way you could ever imagine they did that spur of the moment. The tables were amazing, and the centerpieces looking gorgeous! The drapes, candles and even all the way down to the little details on each table. Each accent of what we wanted in our wedding came to life with these people. The flowers were fresh and everything was spotless. A dream setting for a dream wedding come true. Im definitely looking forward to seeing all the pro pics of this since i have so little pictures to show you but hopefully helpful ! Tables Bride and Groom Table Plate Setting **hubby made the menus and the favors are from discount mugs!** Music - DNA- A+++ DNA was a blast! The taste of music that my husband and I share is quite unique, so we were a bit weary on how this was going to turn out. We literally spoke to the band maybe twice about music. We even met with them about a week before the actual wedding to give them an idea of the music we wanted and what we had imagined for the day. The day could not have gone any better with the music that we had. Yet again, new friends made and great memories were had all night long. They played everything from salsa, to latin rock all the way to classic rock. They performed like the best of them on tour to be honest. We danced the night away and loved every song they played. The sound and the voice that came out of that group was perfect. They even managed our IPOD in breaks and for the ceremony. Darixa & Harold Hidalgo ROCKED IT OUT! Cake - Granito de Azucar/Edwin - A+ Now this was something that we wanted to be special. We had gone to many of the "most acclaimed" cake vendors of PR. In all honestly most of them were extremely snotty and the charging us over $9.00 per slice plus design charges put us way over budget!... Since we didn't want just some ordinary tiered cake we tried to find someone that would make a cake to represent both of us. After a super long search I went to a bridal show in PR and found Edwin! His price was super reasonable and he didn't charge us extra for the design which was amazing! He was also super excited to do something out of the box which made it super awesome to work with him. We gave him the ideas of who we were, as if we were on one of the food network shows where they make the cakes in the competitions. After that, all we had to do was pick the flavors and the cake was perfect. It was exactly how we wanted it, and tasted great to boot. He had us over his house the first day to try a few flavors on short notice. My husband wanted to try the chocolate and he even gave us a piece he had baked for another customer and said they'll just make another for them. It was amazing! He really went into detail about who we were and his fondant work was great. Not to mention he has an array of different flavors ncluding pistachio, guava and almond... MMMMMM THE PISTACHIO KILLED ME!! Photographer - Javier Antonio - A+ Javier, ahh how much could I even say about our photographer. This was a great experience! From the trash the dress session we had all the way to the day of the wedding! Professional to every extent of the word. We are anxiously awaiting our wedding day photos, if they are anything close to the pictures from the TTD, we will have NOTHING to complain about at all. Limo Service - A+ The limo service we had hired was very professional and very prompt. They picked up everybody on time and in a very friendly manor. We have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. Top notch. They even stayed longer when dropping off the bridal party at the beach club due to the monsoon rain HELL that was going on outside and waited until everyone of the guests entered before escorting us out the limo. Hair and Make up - Felix- A+ A great price, and an awesome job on every single one of my girls. This was one thing that probably took the most effort out of everything to pick, and let me tell you this... It was PERFECT! The colors, the materials and the effort put into the work was spot on. I was complimented beyond question about the makeup/hair and how we all looked. Some of the girls were a bit hesitant but after they were finished, they just looked like goddesses! His assistant and him were super QUICK to! Extremely professional to work with! Location - Escambron Beach Club - C+ I have to say, this wasn't the best experience of all for our wedding. My husband had to have quite a few talks with the rep here, thank God he is calm and collective because somehow he gets his way on almost everything he tries to do. We had bumps and hiccups throughout the whole ordeal. From setting up a food tasting, to getting coffee for everybody set up. Even making sure we got a refund for the price difference from having the ceremony inside instead of on the beach. But in the end, everything worked out. The food was awesome, just amazing to say the least. Everybody bragged about it, and to be honest it all came together in the end. So all in all, the experience was good... in the end. But the road to get there was a bit too bumpy for me to really enjoy. Welcome Dinner - Don Tello A+ Now this restaurant was great for both of our families to finally meet. New York meets Puerto Rico, in a Puerto Rican restaurant! They accommodated all of us and fed us till we could burst. They were supposed to close at 8pm and left the restaurant doors opened for all our family to get there. We loved this restaurant because there was a great variety of food and everybody got to have something new or the one dish they loved. Everybody bragged about the food after that night. The environment was one to chill and relax and interact. It was simply put amazing! Overall the wedding was a blast! We couldn't have asked for a better representation of who we were as a couple and for an awesomer(yes it's a new word!) night.
  11. Definitely agree with getting a back up plan. Man that guys sounds like a real party huh?! NOT!!! Im sure it will all work out in the end so breathe girl! Hang in there!!!
  12. Sending you big hugs. My heart completely goes out to you at this time. I don't have much to say except im so sorry your going through this. We are all here for you.
  13. Well guys after the hell of weather we had this past week in PR it is finally over and im a MRS!! Yayy! It was a hectic emotional week but it all worked out in the end. We had a blast and have nothing to complain about (review of EVERYTHING TO COME)! Wanted to thank everyone for all the help this forum provided us during our planning process. Here are a few pictures some of our guests took and posted on f******ng FACEBOOK while we were still at the reception lmao!! New Mr. and Mrs. A Where the ceremony had to take place due to the freaking monsoon of a storm lol! Happy New Family! More pics with reviews of everything to come! Now on to our HM
  14. Gosh D im so sorry your going through this! First thing is first, I do agree that maybe you can find a similar style of a dress that you can try on AKA cut and sleeve option(strapless, halter etc.) so that you know if that dress will favor you at all. Second of all, if you are going to do a TTD and have already decided not to use your original dress i would place the order for the China dress. I dont regret the decision of ordering my TTD from China at all it fit like a glove having it custom made which also gives you an option JIC. Also i dont remember if you posted this already( i think you may have) did you go to RK Bridal and Kleinfelds yet? TBH i would first concentrate on getting the best fitting cut on your body and then narrow down the choices to details etc. What are the dresses your leaning towards now? Have you tried the style/cut etc. of it yet? Seaching through the web i found this article that I hope is of some use in finding accessible plus size samples :. Once the my wedding is over if you want next week i can call and pester the bridal shops i visited in NY to see about their plus size sample selections. They were small boutiques but i do think i noticed a couple of plus sized choices so ill definitely let you know. Hugs!!
  15. Friend lives in DR called her up to know how she was doing. She says the sound was horrible. My prayers are definitely with the victims and their families.
  16. So its cutting it close to the wedding down to the T and well the dress is still not done . BUT i finally got pics for you guys to see so here it is in progress to be almost done. Im getting really anxious thinking that it will be done for the day before the wedding but i trust in God that it will be done and fit perfectly this time ! I was alone again at the shop and had the sales lady take pics not the best but.......
  17. Definitely everyone is ok with my new dress and prefer the dress I originally purchased. But honestly Ive come to terms with it being our day and we should do and wear what we feel is best for us.
  18. Isn't it completely awesome when they do that! So totally cute and sweet!
  19. Ok ladies these are the finished product! Everything you see cost less than $14.00 to make. The flower girl basket was a total of $2.00 and the yard of each 1/2 in thick ribbon was $1.00. I placed the faux crystals and pearls in each crease and also on the upper part of the basket to give it a bit of a more fancy touch. Everything used in the basket except for the ribbon and seashells(got them at the beach) was recycled left over materials from the ring holders !!
  20. So im down to D - 7 days!! Im still crafting the DIY's since Im so organized LMAO! After alot of price researching I decided to make my own Seashell Ring Holders since i had to purchase 2 and the ones I loved were over $25 each! After much searching I went to Walmart last night and bought a few supplies that included: 1. 2 Lions Paw Sea Shell $2 each 2. 1/2 yard Polyester Ivory Fabric .70 cents 3. 1/2 yard Polyester Interfacing Fabric .70 cents 4. 1 Fake Flower Bouquet $2.00 - Brings about 6 flowers 5. 1 yard of Ribbon (1 Diamond White, 1 Turquoise Tye Dyed) .34 cents for both 6. Some fake crystals and turquoise flower details $1.00 each Total= $9.74 With a little love, a hot glue gun and a sewing machine(you can also sew it by hand really easy) this is a mock up of what I got . I will definitely post pictures once its completely done tonight. This was taken with my celphone . At the moment the pillow is pinned since I ran out of white thread ! I still haven't glued the crystals on the shell either but i was going to place one on every crease of the seashell. Also i was going to eliminate the small pink bud on the side of the pillow! Once i saw it in the pic it just didn't seem right! Opinions are definitely welcome!!
