  1. great review, and i agree the rose petals really do make for pretty pictures! congrats
  2. great review and loved your pics too! how much was your reception costs for MP? just curious, as i didn't realize the legal ceremony is free there. might be an option for us, as we still haven't narrowed down a resort.
  3. sounds like a great idea to me and great price! plus i think if your guests know you they will appreciate something not traditional and different....and of course they will remember it because it's unique!
  4. i'm still in the very early stages of wedding planning and details i didn't even think of what "I" need to do for myself. there goes the budget again...haha!
  5. hot photos...your FI will be happy for sure! i'll check out that photog too as i live in the GTA!
  6. i love the look of parasols at a beach wedding! go for it! it will help save money too!
  7. those are stunning photos. you know it's good when a you look at a complete strangers photos, you laugh, you cry and you smile. absolutely beautiful!
  8. wow those are great! my wedding colours are inspired by the peacock feather. i have been looking for ways to incorporate them without it being overboard. i will also have to check out oriental trading for them! thanks for the tip.

They actually had a small selection Destination Wedding dresses under ranging from $199-$699. well for starters i didn't like that on their website they said they had tonnes of dresses in stock. when i went i would say they had about 40 if that. the store is very clean, neat, the staff is nice but...when i was there i made an appointment. my mom & i were the only ones in the store besides the 3 ladies working there. i tried on about 6-8 dresses. i picked a couple, but they kept bringing me style of dresses i said i didn't like. the one dress i did like, they put away and wouldn't let me try on again. i thought that was weird because we were the only ones in the store. they did write down the name for me & style number. i just didn't enjoy the experience, or attitude there. i figure if you are going to pay that kind of money for a dress, you should enjoy the process, and the service. i had no desire to go back there and i think if i found a dress i liked there i probably would of looked elsewhere for it. it's unfortunate too because i live about 10mins from there. now however, another friend of mine who is getting married as well went there and she loved the service & the store although she ended up getting her dress at bridal fraire after i told her about that place. good luck if you do decide to go. another place i was told to check out but never made it too was 'pearl' in port credit.
  13. we're planning on the Gran Bahia Principe, mayan riveria. you can choose from the tulum, akkumal or coba side and use all 3 resorts. i've been to the resort 2x before so we decided to go with what we know, less stress of the unknown!

I'm so excited but I have no idea WHEN to play it!!! that's awesome, that's your name...you totally have to play it! i'm thinkin' i need to put it on our list and surprise FI, he's always singing me random love songs from the 80's...it's hilarious! i love this thread. i copied a lot of the lists, to check out more later. i'm really big into music, and there are a lot of songs i don't know! i'm excited to check them out. thanks!
  15. i have been thinking about this recently as well. so glad you ladies shared your list. it's also good for others to see, just to get a feel for other music people like.
  16. i like #2 best! #1 looks good too, but it almost looks a little too casual. it's your wedding day remember wear something that makes you go 'wow'!
  17. i am sorta in the same boat you are although we haven't set our date yet due to FI starting a new job and waiting for his schedule. the resort we are going to we have been 2x before that same time of year and when i checked the price packages yesterday they are quoting $500 more than i know it usually costs. i don't know what to do either because i want to set a date, send out STD's and book, but i feel bad for the guests because i know they can get a cheaper deal if they wait. when it comes down to it. make the plans for you & immediate family. everyone else, just tell them that if they wait to book to do so at least 4wks before so they can get a flight etc. a couple times now i have waited til last minute (2-4wks before) to book a trip and there was nothing available for the dates or destination. also...remind your guests if they are booking so far in advance to pay to get cancellation insurance because you never know between things like H1N1 and travel/airlines going out of business. good luck with your planning.
  18. for all the canadian girls out there weddingbells.ca is having an online blogger search they are looking for people who are planning a destination wedding in 2010. check it out Weddingbells.ca | blogger search

  20. thanks everyone! now i just can't wait to get it...and wear it!
  21. i was just wondering about this the other day what needs to be done. we are planning a legal ceremony at gran bahia principe as well. i am confused by all the mixed information on this thread. some girls said they had to get the long birth certificates, and others said they only needed a passport & tourist card. has anyone gotten married at GBP lately? also...has anyone gotten married in mexico and not had the proper information? do you just have a symbolic ceremony instead?
