  1. well we ended up deciding on having an AHR as well and when i sent out the STD last month i put please 'reserve the dates' with the info the for wedding ceremony in mexico and the wedding reception back home. i figured people can decide if they can come to both or one or the other. either way...we are going to mexico to get married and doing what we want...if others join us...awesome...if they don't...too bad for them they are gonna miss a good time...haha. i think that's a good attitude to have for DW.
  2. i hope they find her soon. i work at a toronto tv station...and i don't recall hearing this story. contact all media stations, they will put this info on the news. my thoughts go out to her family for a safe return.
  3. love your stationary...i haven't seen anything like that yet. love your dress & the pink crinoline...it's fun and elegant thanks for posting your music playlist too...i am still working on ours for ideas! congrats!
  4. very stunning dress and you look beautiful in it. congrats on finding the 'one'!

They were able to pick out three dresses that suit me perfectly. They let you take off your shoes and wipe your hand with baby wipes before you go in which some people may find snobby but I was impressed with the store and the service there. I plan to check out Bridal Fashion Fraire as a last resort and then make my selection. I will keep you posted! I'm so glad you had a good experience there!! That is great. I also liked that they were delicate with the dresses by making you take off shoes & wipe your hands. Ivy at Bridal Fashion Fraire is so sweet. They have tonnes of dresses there & price ranges so if you know what you are looking for it might help.
  6. oh wow great links for sure! i'll be on here forever. i'm having the hardest time trying to narrow down music.
  7. i put the info on our wedding website. only problem is that no one booked the group rate quote before the expiry date (our travel agent only gave us 2 weeks tops for deposits to be in). we just sent our in STD less than a month ago and i have been hearing from people that they never even looked at the website. we are getting married in april 2010, that's 6 months away. since your wedding is over a year away, be prepared that most guests aren't going to book that far in advance. prices will most likely go down. i updated our website for guests with information for them to book their trips individually. we'll see how many people end up coming. either way...they were invited and in my opinion if they choose not to come that is their loss...haha.
  8. good review. that's too bad you didn't know before you booked that coba wasn't ocean/beachfront. you seem to have a good attitude...with how things went...especially the weather. seeing your photos is getting me excited for our big day in 6 months!
  9. i was having a frustrating time too dealing with TA's and group rate quotes. we ended up deciding to let people pick their own dates and book their own trip. we'll see how many people actually end up coming, but bottom line i didn't think it was fair to have everyone pay $300-500 more for their trip cuz of a group rate quote. it was cheaper to go online and book it yourself. i also noticed...your wedding date. we are getting married april 23rd, gbp -coba!

I just emailed Karla about it but for those of you who've been there before what are your thoughts on this i'm also vegetarian, and i've been to this resort twice. there should be plenty of options for food to eat. i don't remember going hungry once all week. do you eat fish/seafood, eggs and dairy?
  11. well it's good to know that not everyone did a group rate. i am still deciding...just waiting 'impatiently' for the save the dates! i think sending those out will start to make things feel more official too! so what's this info about conrad not being the resort photog anymore? or about bringing in local photographers? does anyone have the contact info or website for the new photog? i am just trying to figure out our budget now for that. thanks!
  12. oh this is great! i need some motivation for sure. Try this in the morning and kick-start your metabolism to give you some early morning energy. Before showering try: 50 step lunges 50 calf-raises 20 push-ups 30 sit-ups touch your toes 20 times If repeated everyday, you will feel the difference within two weeks.
  13. great stuff...congrats! i'm so envious of your garden. i live in an apartment and long for enough space to grow some fruit & veggies!
  14. looks great, and from what i can see the necklace is nice too. glad you had a good experience ordering online.
  15. i love the look of dresses in different shades of colour. i was debating on doing the same as i have girls living all over the place...but we ended up deciding on black and they are going to pick the style.
  16. wow...now that dress is a show stopper! you look great.
  17. we finally set our date a few weeks ago!!! friday april 23/10 tulum side. we don't know if it's the gazebo or beach. i kind of like not knowing as they both look beautiful. we've been to the resort 2x before so we mostly know what to expect. i am just in the process of getting group rates. i haven't been overly happy with the quotes we've received. 2 places said the rate is only available for 7 days. does that seem weird to anyone? i was wondering if others didn't book a group rate and just let their guests book their own packages? reason i'm asking is the prices seem much cheaper. for those who got married on the tulum side, can you recommend which al la carte we should book for the reception dinner? i can't remember which ones are on that side or if we ate there before.
  18. wow beautiful photos... now i'm all excited for my date in april! congrats!
  19. i guess we are a having a formal AHR. about 120, seated dinner, with dancing & drinks of course. i was trying to keep it casual, but it's turning into something more. we're planning it for about 3wks after the wedding.
  20. i voted #1...the style looks very flattering on you. i like #5, but i am wondering if that dress is too popular now. i have seen it way too much.
