  1. Thanks IslamoradaBride. I was thinking of using them too for my business cards. But I thought maybe the postcards would be fun for STD's. I like that you can choose your own photos too!
  2. Has anyone used moo cards before? Plantable invitations from places like Botantical Paperworks? Just wondering what you thought of them. Thanks...Wendy MOO | Custom Business Cards, MiniCards, Postcards and Stickers | moo.com Paper that blooms into flowers © - bulk paper, invitations, favors and stationery
  3. great review. thanks for taking the time to write so many details. when my time comes for planning our ceremony i will have to remember to ask more questions about what is included and extra costs. you looked beautiful...and most of all happy! congrats
  4. hi all, we're hoping for the end of april or beginning of may 2010 at the gran bahia principe-mayan riveria. we've stayed there twice before and had a great time so we picked there. plus it's less stress for us going to a place we aren't familiar with. i want a very laid back wedding so this should help. plus the price is reasonable, great place, lots to do...i can also answer any questions the guests have about the resort which i think will eliminate a lot of stress.
  5. welcome nicole! i'm new here too. i love this site it's packed full of valuable information!
  6. thanks for letting me know. i guess i'll have to decide which side to have the ceremony on, they are both beautiful locations! we've been to the resort 2x, but stayed at the coba side both times and just kept alternating the different areas of the resort to hang out...although we spent most of our time on the beach!
  7. oh i know the area you are talking about now. if you are on the beach by the swing bar and you keep walking down farther to the right. it is a nice location. i guess we were by there but no ceremony was taking place so i didn't realize it was the same area. yeah when we decide on a date officially and i contact the resort i will find out more about the legal ceremony. i have read some canadians had to get their birth certificates in the long form, whatever that means and it translated from english to spanish. i suppose i have plenty of time to do that if it's necessary. it would be nice to do it legally. thanks for the info and getting back to me. excuse my slow response.
  8. what boutiques in Toronto did you find out carry them, if you don't mind me asking?
  9. thanks jon! great photos, i enjoyed looking at them!
  10. love your pics...everything looks beautiful. i'm probably missing the post about this... but what side of the beach did you have your ceremony on...akumal or tulum? also, the flowers are beautiful. i don't know much about the different types or names but are those local flowers?

  12. hey lauren, i'm new too...and we're looking to get married at the gran bahia principe in april 2010 as well around the same time!
  13. thanks for the tips. i guess it is something we will have to think about more...since we have so much time!
  14. that's what i'm so confused about is the price...and the thing about the birth certificates. has anyone got married legally after their DW? my guy is wondering what our parents will think if they know our ceremony isn't legal if we asked them to come all that way.

  16. thanks everyone for the warm welcome. i appreciate the input Tlseege about the ceremony & blood tests. if you got married on the akumal side did you have a beach ceremony? i am still confused about the actual locations for the wedding. even though we have been there 2x we never actually saw the areas where the ceremony is performed. i like the idea that they do spanish & english, that's good to know. i joking told FH that i wanted to say something silly in my vows in spanish...haha thanks Sapphire723 i will check out that thread and try to help with any questions about the resort! i'm really enjoying this website there is so much valuable information.
  17. hi i'm wendy and in the very beginning stages of planning our wedding. we've decided on the gran bahia principe - mayan riveria in mexico...sometime in 2010. maybe april or november. we've been there 2x already so we are familiar with the resort. i'm interested in hearing others experience about getting the legal ceremony and getting the blood tests done there. we can't decide if we should do that or get married legally here.
