Do you know what the chances of getting this while prego? I have insulin resistance too and am worried I won't be able to stick to "healthy eating" if I get pregnant after our wedding next month. I'm currently on metformin to treat it. Sorry to hear you have to deal with this Amy. Keep positve! Sending happy healthy wishes to both of you!
  2. Great tips! I need all the help I can get. We are going to have some major home-fixing-up expenses coming up after the wedding; not that the wedding isn’t one huge expense in itself. We also eat out for dinner all the time while continuing to buy food at the grocery store which only ends up going bad. I’m in my “I hate cooking/eating anything at home” phase = $$$! Here is some of the things we do to offset (justify) our eating out so much: -pack lunch everyday (just me, FI still buys his) – this also saves me un-needed calories -FI and I share 1 car and 1 cell phone –whoever is driving gets the cell for emergencies –it’s a very basic plan and I use it to call my family long distance. We also keep our phones until they die and then get the cheapest phone out there- of course we get harassed by the sales people to upgrade our plan even though they can see we don’t use up all our minutes. -We’re homebodies and spend a lot of time at home – so we don’t go out much for entertainment – movies at home, walks with pups, visit family -Haven’t had cable since I moved in with FI- close to 6 years. We get basic channels over the air just fine. -Turn off lights when we leave the rooms -Save water using the old: if it’s yellow let it mellow… at least in the upstairs bath where I know it won’t matter if we have company over. -I rarely buy clothes that are full price; I have to absolutely love them to spend that much on them. Instead I to straight for the clearance racks, I get last seasons styles but who cares. Keep them coming!
  3. Oops, I forgot to ask the question I've been meaning to for a while: Is there a place to exchage money at the Dreams Tulum or near it? I want to do some shopping in town, and would like to have some pesos on hand. Also, while we are on the subject of money, how do travelors cheques work? I've never used them, can someone enlighten me.
  4. Thansk for postin the Spa Menu, I knew I'd seen it somewhere. To answer the who did I book with question: I used Tammy (host) as my travel agent and got a really good deal and much faster/clearer answer on my date.
  5. Have a great time! Congrats to you both! Can't wait to see your pics.
  6. We are doing the legal part here this Friday. We don't want it to be a big deal, but his parents are going (not in my original plan-but what can I do). I also would be interested in knowing what everyone wore to theirs. I don't want to be supper dressy but I also don't want to go in jeans.
  7. I searched and could not find anything on exchanging money in Tulum. I know most places will take US $ but, some of my guests are trying to plan how much money to bring and if there will be a place at the Resort to exchange into Pesos for going into town and doing some local shopping. My sis and I have some memories of going into town in Guadalajara and exchanging money with my parents and it being really wierd and unsafe feeling. How is it in Tulum? TIA
  8. Thanks! I was planning on going clothes shopping today there today anyways. I will prepare for sale crowds and good deals.
  9. We went down to get our marriage license today and we are going to have our legal ceremony next Friday. One little issue that we though of as soon as we were out of the office was about how our names will appear on our Marriage Certificate. We didn't include our middle names and now I think they should be on there. Any thoughts on this? Can we change it before our legal wedding?
  10. Seahagamy- I'm doing the complimentary Wedding in Paradise. I have some pdfs with the flower options, I can email them to you if PM with your email.
  11. Be prepared to spend some time there, it's not quite give us a scanner gun and let us do our thing. We got a tour and an overview of Bed Bath and Beyond, it took way longer than we thought. Don't feel like you have to make decisions right then, our sales guy had a series of questions to try to determine "our" style to which he got a lot of "I'm not sure's" from me. Remember, don't expect your FI to be as excited about this as you are, it's still just shopping for him.
  12. Here are the shoes I bought before buying my dress which is ivory and lace. I got them at Amazon for like under $20. They are white and the little rhinestone flowers catch on my dress So, poor lil me has to find new shoes, whats a girl to do two pairs of wedding shoes...lol.
  13. What about having a Mayan ceremony? I've seen those offered just do a google search. It would be something different and very cultural.
  14. Has anyone recieved their Lipchic sealer from the site? Just wondering before placing an order with a website I'm not familiar with. Thanks for the tip on this, I'm compiling my makeup shopping list and this is def on it.
  15. I love the Beazley House B&B(my sis works there). Beazley House Bed & Breakfast Inn-California's first Napa Valley Bed & Breakfast They are the first B&B in Napa and they are the BEST! They can guide you when it comes to which wineries you should visit depending on what you are looking for. Also, they can help you with dinner reservations and other things to do. I finally went on the Napa Valley Wine Train last summer and it was amazing, I would highly recommend it for the food and the experience. Napa Valley Wine Train -- The official website of the Napa Valley Wine Train -- Home Page I hope you enjoy your honeymoon in Napa!
  16. I just found these little poppers that are eco friendly that could be an alternative to the streamers and the ecofetti. I want to get them, but I just went out and bought bubbles at the local party store last night and FI would not be happy if I bought more stuff he thinks is unnecessary. “Have a Blast!†Biodegradable Celebratory Wedding Poppers
  17. Sadly there is not Five Below in OHio I love that they have name brands though, I think most of the Dollar store items are generic, which isn't bad, but it would be nice to get stuff people would recognize for OOT bags.
  18. Great tips ladies. I'm so worried about my guests getting sick. Any good DEET bug repellents out there that people would recommend for OOT bags? Somthing that would suit most people, not greasy, or stinky.
  19. Too cute! Do they come in his and hers? What about BM's? They would make great gifts!
  20. OMG Morgan, that video is hilarious! Yeah, I definetly would not want to get caught in the streamers, they look just as bad as silly string, LOL.
