  2. I'm doing this as well, but I'm not anywhere near DIY able...I'm a complete DIY failure! So I'm ordering off the internet and they are going to be great! We're using a picture my dad took in Cabo, rather than our logo, and the company has been very helpful. I haven't ordered yet, simply because we're waiting until our RSVP date has passed but I'll be ordering within the next three weeks. Here's the link: Bag Tags, Inc. - Custom Luggage Tags
  3. We're doing a lounge area, and renting the lounge furniture and will have a bar that is lit up and pink! So fun! Here's the bar: I don't have a pictue of the lounge furniture, but I go back to Cabo next weekend for a final site visit and will take as many pictures as I can! I think the lounge is a great way to have an informal area for your guests to relax and talk...some of them probably haven't seen each other in a long time!

I am paying a flat fee of $3000 ($1000 for his travel, which I booked, and $2000 for his photog. services). For this fee I am getting: - 3 hours of photography for the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner - All day the day of the wedding (no time limit) - Trash the dress/day after the wedding photos at the ruins (his suggestion) His portfolio is awesome. Check out his website: Jean-Marcus Strole - Photography I think his rates have gone up a bit, but he is still reasonable. He lives in Seattle and will fly anywhere. I will post a review when I get back from the honeymoon in November. Laura, looks great! Good choice and you definitely have bragging rights on this one!
  5. Photography was a big one to us, and we actually found our photographer when we thought we were getting married in Santa Fe, NM. But we fell in love with her work, so we are bringing her with us to Cabo. We're spending a lot on it, but it's a total fee, and for four days of photography (around $9k). It's a lot, but for me, worth every penny.
  6. We invited 280 and I expect roughly 110...we invited everyone that we would have invited had we done the wedding at home, since we didn't want an AHR. Instead of just applying a percentage to figure it out, I made a column on our master guest list of "Probable" and went in and added in who I thought would come, and who I knew wouldn't. So that's how I came up with 110. But, I'm an Excel nerd. My dad, however, is hoping for 20 people, so he doens't have to page the outrageous bar bill!

  8. We worded it "Resort chic" but asked specifically for no shorts. That's a great idea putting it on the website in greater detail though, hadn't thought about that. Thanks!
  9. Oh, we went to Brasil last time we were in Cabo and it was great! But they had the drummers that came by and that was the best part...still get that stuck in my head every now & then!
  10. I found this in a magazine a while ago, and scanned it in so I would have it. Sorry that's its a bit dull, and an attachment. But I think it's adorable! For anyone that doesn't want a "bonfire" but instead, just wants a station, it's just tooo freaking cute! LOVE IT! smores.pdf
  11. The Toilet Paper Roll--Does It Change Itself? Round Table Discussion. Meets 2 weeks, Saturday 12:00 for 2 hours. That's my favorite! Thanks Glenda, totally made me chuckle at work!
  12. That's so much fun! Yay for you! We have just started receiving presents as well, it's so much fun! I love seeing what people pick out and then writing the thank-you card to tell them how excited we are to receive whatever it is. I just checked our registry (I'm addicted, probably check every day just to see for fun) and noticed that someone bought us a copper fondue pot, so fun, and someone else bought us four salad plates for the china we picked out. So much fun! I can't wait to see who it was! It's just like Christmas!
  13. Oh I just love them! I love the one of you laughing and he's smiling to the side. I love shots like that, in the moment and totally spontaneous! They are beautiful! Best wishes!
  14. I love Calorie King! I don't use it to track anything, but I use it all the time to lookup the nutritional value of foods! Love it!
  15. Tara, you've got so much time I wouldn't even think about it now. I mean, you're thinking about it, but I certainly wouldn't go shopping yet. You can wait until at least January for your November wedding, so what's the rush? Keep an eye out for things you like, styles, etc but don't force yourself at all. People always want to know about the dress, the dress, the dress, but it's gotta be your dress, and you'll know it when you see it! I wouldn't worry about it at all! But if it helps, I wasn't really excited about going shopping either, I'm not a girlie girl, but I can be if I'm excited about something. And the moment I started trying them on, it was so fun! It's just an experience I've never had in my life, so it's new and fun and so different. There is something about wearing that dress that makes me smile! So hang in there, brush off the comments, and go when you're ready. And then of course, we want pictures!

They arrived quickly and I'm very happy with the order. There are 56 cards in the pack, and they are just too cute! Here's the link to the company I used: eeBoo Spanish Flash Cards
  17. Thanks Paula! Now one more question, since I didn't take Spanish, when is it appropriate to use the exclamation (but upside down?) at the beginning of a sentence? Just making sure that grammatically it's correct, as well.

  19. Ok ladies, I didn't mean to hijak the original thread, so sorry! But I just received my Spanish flash cards and they are adorable! I will post pics later. But I'm thinking of using them at the Welcome Dinner at Mi Casa, and putting a tag with raffia on them that say "Thanks for joining us" in Spanish or something cute like that. Since we're not doing a seated dinner during the weekend. See my post above for the flash cards...they have French ones too!
  20. Thanks Mora! How about: "Thanks for joining us in Los Cabos!" "Welcome to Los Cabos" "Thanks for joining us in paradise!"
  21. I completely agree, the earlier you can get out the information, the better. And the more information, the better! Personally, I would send them both, but that's just me being weird. Either way works, but make sure and give your guests plenty of time.

Congratulations! You'll love it here, and we have a few brides getting married in the BVIs also!
  23. I don't think it's bad either! Just keep the dirt & grime off of it, however possible!
