  1. Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. Sandals is kind of pricy compared to other AI's but we had the best time there and highly recommend it!
  2. Hmmm, I am fllying Airtran guess I should call them to find out what their policy is.
  3. Username: Laura2013 Name: Laura & Jonathan Location: Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Wedding date: March 23, 2013 In Jamaica: March 20- April 2nd Congrats to everyone!
  4. Thank you for these suggestions, I am heading to Ebay for my veil now : )
  5. I say if its not important to you, then skip it! It is so easy to get wrapped up in things you don't really care that much about because everyone else thinks its important. I know from too much personal experience and need to take my own advice! But you could do an alternation - dessert bar, pie, cookies- whatever YOU and your fiance like.
  6. I really didn't want a wedding party either, but gave in to the pressure (of mainly my mother) and now I have 8 bridesmaid and my Fiance has yet to ask anyone except his 10 year old nephew....lol. Don't get me wrong, having my girls there is so important to me but just didn't want the formality of a wedding party...I should have just stood my ground because now we are dealing with the stress of finding their attire, which is really difficult to do being off season and the bridal party being spread across the US.
  7. Glad I checked this out- I think we also will be using Forever by Chris Brown. Thanks!
  8. @ Lizrmt. That's a great idea to do your TTD with your niece. It is prob best not to force the issue when just starting your marriage if he just isn't into it. You will still be able to get lots of gorgeous photos of you in your dress and then some playful ones with your niece.
  9. I am wearing a long veil for the same reason - I want that amazing photo with the veil blowing!
  10. We got engaged on our 6th dating anniversary in Jamaica and getting married on our 7th...in Jamaica : )
  11. Thanks for the suggestions Peach, no luck on either of those sites. I am determined though- searching online now : )
  12. I fell in love with the Aqueducts and looked into doing the ceremony there, but ended up going with resort, BUT we are definitely doing TTD there and the Rose Hall Mansion- it is only a few minutes down the road from Iberostar where is where we will be having our wedding. Congrats!
  13. I didn't book my wedding party, because at the point I had no idea on how many people I would have. She did tell me I couldn't get the discount unless I booked everyone all at once. I would like to see about getting my Mom an appointment with her too as her Christmas present.
  14. Thanks for the Aldo suggestion, I will check them out tonight. I will research studiosuits reviews too, I havent checked them out yet.
  15. They look fantastic. Invitations are what I need to be getting done right now and I am so dreading them, I would love to do them myself because I just hate the idea of spending so much on something that really is not that important to me.... you gave me some inspiration thanks!
  16. Well we are not having any luck finding groom and groomsmen attire in the stores with the exception of one pair (the last ones!) of Cubavera linen pants (real light tan color) my fiance found at Macy's that he loves. Now I am thinking we would like a vest to match for my fiance and the same (or very similiar pants) for the groomsmen and long sleeve linen shirts for all the guys. Anyone know of where to look besides Island Importers (they are a little more expensive). We are also looking for light colored sandals (not flip flops) which also seem very hard to find. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give!
  17. I am trying to figure out what we would like the Steel Drum Band to play for our first dance on the beach after our ceremony. The Wedding Cooridnator said they can basically play anything but it is hard for me to figure out what we be good because it will just be the music no vocalist. I wanna make sure that whatever song we pick is recognizable. If anyone has any feedback it would be grealy appreciated. I also need to a song for them to play as I and everyone else walks down the aisle, but am not as worried about that part. I have searched online and really haven't had much luck. Thank you!
  18. I read recently (either on here or the FB page) that those are not the chairs without the seat covers. The chairs without the covers are not very attractive for a wedding in my opinion and wouldn't look right on the beach.
  19. I also am a little more than four months out and still have not sent invitations. We sent out Save the Dates over the summer with our web wedding site address which has all the information on it. For whatever reason, I am dreading invitations and tried to find a way to avoid them but don't think its possible because we are also having an "At Home Reception" and inviting about 230 people. I really hate the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on invitations (much rather putting it towards something that will be more memorable in my eyes - photography or a group excursion, etc) and was going look into making them myself but haven't had the chance with everything else going on in my life. I think I need to just suck it up and get it done but I guess I just needed to vent lol...
