  1. Thank you Collleeen12!!!! That makes me feel so much better! Its really annoying that they have to be so confusing. Now I am leaning towards the Beach over the Suites as the Suites are telling me 90% of the guests need to stay at the Rose or Suites, which makes more sense as they are more expensive than the Beach. Do you happen to know for sure if the Bride & Groom have to stay at the Beach? I would lke to have our choice of which one to stay at, would love to spend a few nights at the Grand Rose for our honeymoon. Thanks, Laura
  2. Now I am confused, I just received an email back today from Trisha-Gaye Hamilton, the Wedding Coordinator at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach and she said "We require 80% of the guests to stay at the complex, between the three properties. However once the wedding is booked for this property, all events will be held there." I am wondering if she made a mistake, but am hoping not. When is your contract dated for? Maybe they are changing the requirement. Wish this didn't have to be so complicated - lol! Quote: Originally Posted by albellis Hi Laura, I have my wedding booked with the Beach. If a guest is staying at the Suites or Grand, they are considered a guest of the hotel and only that $18 fee would apply (if you have more than 8 people).
  3. Oh my goodness!! Where did you find this picture?!! This is exactly what I envision for a beach wedding but hadnt seen anything like this at the Iberostar properties yet? I have been really leaning towards the Aqueducts for the ceremony location, but now I don't know....I just got off the phone with the Suites and they said they require 90% of the guests stay at the Suites. I am not sure how I would make sure that happened...strongly suggest my guests stay there, but what if they don't? How are you planning on doing this? I am still waiting on an answer from the Beach to see if they have the same requirements. Thanks so much for the info from the Hilton- that is def way more than we are willing to spend. Also, do you have an alternate location picked for if it rains?? Maybe it is possible to have my dream beach wedding and then either get photos at the Aqueducts and Great Rose Hall (I wonder if they charge to just take photos there) before the sunset ceremony. I CAN'T wait finalize this decision, this is so stressful!
  4. So glad you had a wonderful wedding! I am still narrowing down whether we are going to have the wedding and or reception at the Suites or the Beach. Do you know if you need to have a certain percentage of your guests staying at the Beach to have events there? And whether the bride and groom have to stay there? I know at the Suites they require 90% of the guests to stay there and the Bride & Groom can stay either at the Suites or the Grand Rose and guests of the Beach need to pay $30/person. I am not sure how to go about planning with the 90% requirement, what if I don't have 90% then we are out of luck? That is not real comforting lol.
  5. Wow... That is definitely way more than we want to spend. Hopefullly we can at least just stop there for some photos and head back to Iberostar or somewhere else comparable in price to Iberostar for the reception. Thanks for the information. Have you picked your venues yet?
  6. Juliajohn, I am also looking for a photographer. I am a photographer myself so I know quite a few photogrpaphers so I may bring one with me. But if I don't, I am really leaning towards Stacey Clarke. I love her work and I like how you can split your hours over two days on some of her packages. If you are interested, I can PM your pricing. She also has lots of postive reviews from happy brides on this site.
  7. Right now I am also considering having my ceremony at the Aqueducts and maybe the reception at the Rose Hall Great House with a buffet and open bar. I have emailed some Wedding Coordinators for price quotes, but am getting really impatient-I just want to make a decision already lol! I do already have a quote from Almarie at Tropical Weddings Jamaica for just the ceremony at the Aqueducts, but am trying to figure out if I want the reception at the Great House or back at the Iberostar. Does anyone already have price quotes or any type of information about what is available for a reception at the Great House (food, music, etc)? We are thinking we will have between 25-50 guests. Thanks in advance for any input, this site has been such a great source of information. : )
  8. Thanks Aunje, I should have thought to look it up! 8 mins is perfect, hopefully now I can find a WC to assist with making it happen. As for a photographer, I would love to share one if I was gettting married in July. We are hoping for March 23, 2013. Stacey Clarke is our top candidate for a photographer at this point.
  9. Thanks so much for clarifying albellis, I thought that was the deal (no charge for Iberostar non-Beach guests), but wanted to clarify in case it was a hidden fee. Thanks for your input on choosing your resort too. I am clueless as to where most of guests will stay, so it makes it difficult to chose between the 2 places. Guess its a decision I just got to make and live with. Thanks!
  10. I am also considering a staying at Iberoatar, ceremony and mini reception at aqueducts then pics at aqueducts and Rose Hall House and back to resort for dinner and partying. Does any one know how far the Rose House is from the aqueducts? I'm not sure how feasible my idea is? I'm also trying to find a wedding coordinator to make this all come together. I have contacted Almarie from Tropical Weddings Jamaica and am leaning towards booking her but wanted to see if anyone else had any recommendations. ...I'm also looking for a good Travel Agency. Any advice will be sooo appreciated!
  11. I'm having a hard time deciding between the Suites or the Beach. I received pricing packages from both and they are pretty similar. It is unclear whether their is any fees for guests of the Rose or Suites to attend festivities at the Beach. Does anyone have this information. I emailed the WC a few days ago but haven't gotten a response yet. Also, I am unsure where my guests will be staying so not sure what location (Beach or Suites) would be better....any one have any input on how they decided?
  12. Allie, Ughh, sorry. I am still learning how to use this site. I thanked you for the information. Your information was very helpful as I have only received a reply from the Beach so far. I was able to find the other price lists online that are dated March 2012. Leaning towards an off resort location (Aqueducts is my dream but its really expensive) with reception/bonfire at the Suites with us staying at the Rose. I just get confused with all their added fees for guests of the Beach to attended Suites and what percentage of guests need to stay at Iberostar for you to have a reception, etc, etc. This site definitely has been so helpful. I will be so relieved when I get picking a resort over with already!
  13. Thanks Allie, I just replied to you via email.
  14. I am also interested in info on the bonfire option. Have you found anything else out kpoovey?
  15. Hey Leah, Would you be able to send me that attachment via email at [email protected] ? I am new on here and just started working on getting enough posts to open attachments. Thanks, Laura
  16. Kristen, That date is really cool! It would be great if you could forward me that. My email address is [email protected] Right now I am trying to figure out which of the three Iberostars to have our reception at. It is really confusing with their fees for other Iberostar guests to attend. Thanks for your help. It pretty cool to have found a fellow March 2013 bride! Laura : )
  17. Kristen, Congrats on picking your date! We are strongly considering the Rose on March 23, 2013. Is that your date by any chance lol?? I tried to call today about details but of course the wedding coordinator is not in until Monday. Do you happen to have any recent emails from them or any type of info at all. I have been trying to figure out the location since we go engage in Jamaica in March and are so beyond stressed out!! Thanks, Laura
  18. Thanks for your awesome review Lizdee! After reading for the last hour on this site, I am almost 100% sure I am going to go with Beaches for our March 23, 2013 Wedding. Your pictures are great, how can I find you on facebook to see the rest? Also, did all of your guests stay at Beaches? If not, do you have any advice on guests staying at other resorts coming to the wedding? Thanks and congrats on you marriage!
