  1. So glad I came across this...I was trying to figure out how to word mine...thanks everyone!
  2. Hi Sharon! Thanks for replying about the starfish/raffia. You finally made it to Michaels, lol! I'll probably make some of these for the aisle chairs... As far as DJ Molina, I'm still trying to book him through Ana. I know you and Lindsay said you had no problems booking him, but of course they have different rules for EVERYONE...I just got an email from her saying this: " About DJ Molina we need to verify the contract that he has with the resort but we have an excellent DJ his name is Mauricio Neri and you can contact him at [email protected]" Really?? If I wanted DJ Neri, I would have asked for him. In my original email, I told her I wanted to book Julian asap so he doesnt book someone else, and that's what I got back...Ugh...sending her an yet another email now. Did you guys have to fight to get him or where you just able to book?
  3. Love all of your DIY projects...I'm totally addicted too! I've always loved DIY projects anyway, but seeing how much everything with the word "wedding" attached costs, plus all of the wonderful ideas on this forum, my list is seriously like 2-3 pages long! Thanks for the inspiration...I love your matchbooks...too cute!
  4. I agree...these pics are absolutely gorgeous-they look like art. He does great work. After seeing the newer, more modern photojournalistic style of photography, I can't imagine ever going back to traditional "super posed" shots...so boring, imo
  5. I ended up buying a Maggie too! It was discontinued in 2010 and I couldn't find it anywhere. I finally found a sample out in California (I'm in CT!) and bought it without ever seeing it (except for the pics the store sent me) or trying it on...crazy, I know, lol, but I had tried on a similar style (an Allure dress) and knew I loved the shape/style. I just loved this one a little more. Heck, I figured if I didn't like it, I could always sell it...but it turns out I love it!! Here it is: It fits perfect, the only alterations I'll need is to get it hemmed-its super long on me right now! I don't have any pics of it on, when I take some, I'll be sure to post. The color is diamond white & pewter, and although the bodice looks very pewter-ish in the pic, it's not at all in real life. Also not very "beachy" haha, but I don't care!
  6. I know what you mean, I got my dress a size smaller too, because that was the only one they had (I bought a sample). The good thing about the Maggies is that the corset backs are pretty forgiving...you can usually get away with a size smaller or bigger depending on the style. I'm sure you'll look great in your dress...good luck!
  7. OMG these are so cute! Love the crossword and room finder pages! Have I mentioned how much I love this forum and how incredibly boring our weddings would be without it Thanks (everyone!) for posting such wonderful and creative ideas!!
  8. I love your MIBs! FI and I are doing the same thing, just the other way around. I sent out boarding pass STDs, and we're doing MIB for invites. I bought all the supplies from sandartsupplies too, and starfish and sanddollars from quality shells. Can't wait to get started on these! It's so funny that you bought Vanilla Lime oil, that's the same one I bought too! When I went to Yankee Candle a few weeks ago, I was determined to get Coconut Bay oil...except they didn't have any : ( (I'm not even sure they make it?) So I kept smelling "Sun and Sand" and "Beach Walk", when all of the sudden FI goes, hey, I really like this one...so Vanilla Lime it is! I LOVE the way it smells, it reminds me of a yummy drink, lol. The plastic palm trees are too cute!
  9. That's insane! I had no idea such places existed, lol. I personally have no problem buying discounted (or dirt cheap!) items that are slightly damaged/broken, if they can be fairly easily fixed...you just have to "think outside the box" sometimes, lol. I can't believe they have such high end designer gowns for those prices...good find!
  10. Congrats on finding your dress! I liked #1 the best too- great choice! I'm a sucker for sweetheart necklines : )
  11. Great find! I love OTC...was on that site today actually!
  12. So exciting! Congrats, it looks amazing on you! I think the lace will tie in nicely with the "look" of the dress : )
  13. Does anyone know if this is included in the Love or Ultimate wedding packages (starfish and raffia on chairs leading down the aisle)? I've seen something similar in a few DRC wedding pics and wonder if the hotel provided it or if the couple brought it themselves...
  14. I love this pic too, I have it saved in my "inspiration folder". I'm starting to realize that the easiest way to figure some stuff out is just to try it myself, lol (if I can). If I go this route, I'll just buy a little fabric, try it on one of my chairs, and figure out the length from there. You would think the resort (and all resorts) would set up a FAQ brochure for brides or designate someone to answer all of our questions besides the WC, they're too busy)...they're such trivial things, but honestly, a girl needs to know! How else can we plan/know what we need to buy?! What are the dimensions of the chuppah? How tall is the gazebo? What type of chairs are included? How size table linens do I need...Why wouldn't the WC's save themselves the aggravation and have our answers in one place! Ok, I'm totally venting, I think I'm done now
  15. Hi Lindsay! I've heard great things about Anel too...I'm still waiting to hear back from her. They sent me an email saying that their system crashed (or something like that) and they're behind in answering emails. I'm leaning towards using Adventure, because of the great reviews and reasonable prices...almost every other photog I've looked at is at least double the price, if not 3 to 4 times as much (ouch). Wish I had a bigger budget, but I don't : ( Quote: Originally Posted by Lindsay in love TigerLily, Anel from Adventure Photos is very good, that's who I'm using. If I had a larger budget for photos, I'd be using Del Sol hands down...they are amazing! As for booking your DJ, just ask Ana to book in AVI for you and the tell Juan Molina and he will set the date aside for you. I had no problems getting this booked, so I imagine it should be easy for you to do... Good Luck!
  16. Omgosh meows, that dress is gorgeous!! I guess we'll take your word for it being "unforgiving"...from the pictures you posted, it looks amazing on you!
  17. Great planning thread! Thanks for posting all the templates (even though I can't open them yet : ( I'm sure you saved yourself 1001 questions (requests), lol. I really like the starfish table number holders! I've been trying to figure out what I wanna use, and that looks really cute. Good luck on your wedding!
  18. Thanks for sharing this great idea! I love DIY projects, and this one seems pretty easy...I only need maybe 25-30 pens too, so this is awesome. Thanks again for posting!
  19. Aphrodite, your dress is beautiful! It's exactly what I picture when I think of a dw...congrats!
  20. JLR that Mikaella dress looks like it was made for you! Congrats on finding "the one"!
