  1. I'm going to book Naiomi Whelan....I've seen her do a jp service and I liked her....and she and her husband are calgary icons...
  2. Funny you should post this site. I ordered a dress from these folks in china. Took 4 weeks but got it friday. I also read all the reviews and asked them lots of questions before I ordered......i'm sad to say...it is nothing like how it displays on their webpage. the detachable strap for the dress is dirty. the top part of the dress is ok but the bottom which is suppose to be white chiffon is actually polyester and off white...not sure if its faded or dirty. Very clearly they didn;t take my measurements and make me this dress. I went with them cause I am a plus size and they had so much to choose from. If my seamstress can't do wonders with with dress, I will defintiely NOT be wearing it.....Ladies be warned.....these sites from China are deceiving!
  3. Thanks for posting....great pics....indeed, the beach wedding is not private!
  4. So, I got a good deal. Stopped in Old Navy tonight (before sale day). Was checking out the flip flops. Sales girl says to me --flip flops are on for $1 tomorrow....ya, I know I say. So I ask her, if I buy tonight can I get a price adjustment on them tomorrow...she checks with the manager...yes, they will honour the $1 price for tomorrow, but I'll need to stop in tomorrow before closing to do that....OK, 15 pairs of flip flops in my bag! Nice, don"t have to fight the crowds tomorrow.....and ya know, some only had larger sizes left...like ladies size 10 & 11.
  5. Ladies----re: Old navy flip flop sale. I called today to ask about the sale. They open at 7 AM (Chinook) and it is a limit of 5 per person.
  6. You know...there is sooo much great info on here, includiing all the templates, wording for different things, etc....that I just bit the bullet and paid the $30. It has helped me get a start on things I need to be doing....I've gotten less for $30 elsewhere many, many, times! Including a family trip to McDonalds even!
  7. Thought I would fill in my fellow Cdn brides with some info. 1) Last night at Costco I purchased a product called: Health Balance: Diarrhea Relief. I read the ingredients and compared it to Immodium, which was also there. Same ingredients. It was 9.99 for 84 caplets. Inside the box were 14 packets containing 6 tablets each....I will include the ingredients + directions in the bag with each packet. I love it....and no shipping from the US. 2) I just went through my flyers and spotted some good deals. Here they are: Giant Tiger: has an item called a "water wallet". They come in different colours, appear to be a hard plastic case, have a seal/lock sort of thing and come on a lanyard thingy. They are on sale for $3.97. They also have some casual ladies sandals on sale. They look like a cork flip flop - for $5. 3) Jysk has an item called "moon lanterns" on sale. They hold a tea light/candle in the inside and are surrounded by glass. I already bought these and they are fabulous. They come in about 4 colours (I bought yellow). I'd say they stand about 8 or 9 inches tall. On sale for $3.99. 4) A liquidation type of place called : Smart Deals Canada has pashmina's listed for $5..and it says compare at $34.95??? The picture looks good. Think I'll check it out. That's my update for now! LOL
  8. Ladies, I went to my local AMA (CAA) for the rest of Canada probably and got both a thick travel book and a separate map for free as I am an AMA member. Map is good enough to use to sign and book has lots of info on the DR you could add in your welcome booklet or brochure!
  9. The wedding planner I purchased my sashes from here in Calgary, said to iron them and then roll them....they will not wrinkle that way she says....
  10. Yes, I am also suddenly having delays in email responses. I am long booked with deposits down and some plans made (confirmed ??). I am on the 4th WC since I booked---and as of my last communication it should be Awilda (sp?). It has been over a month since she or another answered a lengthy email I sent with about 2 dozen questions. So I followed up two weeks ago, and then a week later and now this coming Tues will be another week....my last notes reads something like...."hello, anyone there?"...LOL. I realize they are getting into busy season, so perhaps they prioritize based obn wedding date? 11. I also am going to wear a low sandal...I was going to go barefoot but a read on here somewhere a couple of times, comments from ladies who set out to go barefoot but only lasted about 3 or 4 minutes cause the sand was too hot to stand in! That may depend on your location and time of day though.
  12. Responding to this thread so it comes up front and centre for us Canadian brides again...is that called a bump? LOL
  13. Has anyone found actual first aid kits? You know the small ones made of hard plastic with complete contents? The US brides seem to find them everywhere...but I've checked a dozen places and haven't found anything I consider reseasonably priced...really don't want to pay $10 per kit. Thanks.
  14. I was in Office Depot at 180 - 94 Ave SW yesterday. Apparently, Office Depot (all stores) are pulling out of Canada by mid-June....big clearance--everything must go! I got tropical stationary and envelopes with matching thank you cards, the large name card stock(8 inches) - to be used at top of Survival kits, business card stock, etc...for cheap! They have so much for DIY projects! I got a bag of 50 plastic thingies (LOL) to attach luggage tag to luggage for 50 cents! Was also in Micheals and in their hidden clearance rack they had loads of wedding stuff ...invites, etc...
  15. I found another good site...www.theweddingshoppe.ca.....they are located in London, Ont so no outrageous shipping or duty. Clearly, we have found a market...LOL...one of us, who is not totaaly burned out after wedding planning and the wedding should start up a Canadian business....LOL. As you all will agree, it is so frustrating to soend time on a site looking at itmes and getting excited only to find out they don't ship to Canada or it is a ridiculous amount of money.
  16. Ladies: I am able to retrieve some information off the Dreams website but am looking for way more details for either a brochure or to put in a welcome booklet. Things like: restaurant hours; hospital address and phone; water sports rental prices; bar hours, consul address and number, etc....I have sent a couple of emails to my WC but she is slow at getting back to me these days...she must be swamped I am sure. Thanks,
  17. I'm with you....I would love a template from someone who went to Punta Cana and has relevant details in it. Thanks.
  18. You enjoy girl.....as you well know...we'll be waiting on details and photos! LOL...
  19. Thanks DramaticAnnie....I love how we are all willing to share our good finds with each other!
