  1. Celeste-----I don't what your current career entails but I'd say you found your calling! You could seriously go into business providing these services/ideas to other brides....by far one of the best threads on this site...you should be very proud. Your guests will be blown away! Wondering if you would share the template for the brochures and luggage tags? Awesome job girl!
  2. Me too,....can't find the link...You look fabulous...great pic.
  3. All the best Sandy....enjoy what you have worked so hard for......Lasallebabe.....
  4. Thanks KCB2011----I'll keep that in mind.......is the amount of duty due, based on the value of the package or weight? Thanks, Lasallebabe
  5. Funny, I was just looking at the stickers on-line.! You did a great job....I'll have to check them out Micheal's. Did you just hand write the letters and then glue on the crystals? Pretty happy with how it turned out, especially since it was cheaper than ordering the special stickers Here they are:
  6. Pictures would be great! FYI.....I booked through Air Canada vacations and you receive 2 upgrades to business class if 10 people book and 4 upgrades to business if 20 people book.
  7. I was going to rent from the resort but one day while searching "Kijiji" (Calgary), I found a wedding planner who was closing down her business and selling everything off! It was an awesome find.....I got all the stuff listed for $65.00..........
  8. Following my wedding in Oct 2011...I will have 50 orange sashes with 30 orange nakpins and 30 turquoise sashes for sale cheap......see attached photo. Picture isn't great, they are a burnt orange colour.
  9. If some sort of a cup....I would go with something with a lid.......
  10. Heidilynn28; Thanks for posting about the UPS charges. So you were home then when they delivered? Wonder if you are not home, do they leave it or take it somewhere for pickup and payment????
  11. Your dress choice is fabulous. You ordered from the same place as me. Did you receive it yet? Any issues? I was a bit nervous about ordering from them but it was the only place I found a dress I liked. I vote for the blue shoes... Here is a link of my wedding dress: http://www.inweddingdress.com/style-de035.html The following three pictures are my selected shoes. #1 #2 #3
  12. There are a few things I'm interested in......flip flop name card holders, tissues packs, and a few more. I'm not dead set on having everything personalized with our names (I'm an older bride and think my guests may not enjoy having our names on EVERYTHING.....so I would look at personalization like...."Thank you so much for coming" or something similiar. Im going to go back to the site and have a look around again......anything catch your eye?
  13. MsClarke724: is the $1900 the book price or the group rate? My book rate was about $2300 from Calgary (that was almost a year ago when I frist went to the TA). He put in an inquiry with the tour provider (Air Canada Vacations) and the Group Dept came back with a price of about $1400. Confirm with your TA ---and for back up, I would call Apple group bookings myself...another option might be to switch tour companies?? Good luck.
  14. I am beginning to order some items for my welcome bags. I've read many, many threads on here fron Cdn brides who have ordered from a vendor in the US only to receive the items with custom/duty owing hundred/s of dollars. I have found a Cdn site: theweddingshoppe.ca which carries many of the same fabulous items as the US vendors. However, in some cases you must order a larger quantity than I need i.e. flip flop place card holders, personalized lip balm, personalized tissue packs, etc. Wondering if any one is interested in putting in a joint order for some items....if we got a few of us it would be real inexpensive! They offer free shipping on orders over $250. I am in Calgary. Anyone care to discuss?
  15. Getting married 6 months today...Oct. 26, 2011 at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana. 27 guests confirmed. Most plans confirmed....working on program and welcome bag items now.
  16. Thanks jszy10 -----they're great...wow, good for you. Is the name tag on the inside of the plastic?....wow, nice to have personalized. I really do love these!
  17. Stupid question of the day....but maybe cut me some slack because I'm in Canada (LOL) and we don't have dollartree....how is it exactly that you customize them? Like print your own label type of thing? Does the clear plastic come off? Thanks Ladies.!
  18. That is so awesome....thanks! xxx-xxxxbdwMarch 13, 2010.doc
  19. I found an awesome item at the dollar store. I'm ditching the idea of wrist coils and id holders for the guests as I've had several male guests sort of chuckle and say they wouldn't likely use them. So today at the dollarstore I found what is technically a passport holder, although I think it is too small for a passport. They are black and have CANADA and flag or maple leaf on them. They have two zippered pockets and a netted pocket in the back. They are worn around your neck and come with one of those knobs things you slide to adjust the length. I can put a card/note in the netted pocket...and best of all, I'm certain they are an item my guests will reuse! They were $1.50 each and are good quality. Such an easy addition to my welcome bags without the work! They are light weight so will be easy to transport. I am attaching a photo...Just thought I'd share as these excited me so! LOL
  20. Hi CCin331.....I would love for you to send me the pricing please......please send to: [email protected]. Many thanks.
  21. Hi Aaronlori; I'm going the same route as you----doing the legal ceremony here first without telling the guests! A couple of people for witnesses and that will be it! I'm sure no one will be the wiser at the ceremony in the Dominican.
