  1. I'm just curious if you've found a cruise line? My FI and I are thinking of doing a cruise around the island but I heard your choices are a bit limited....
  2. the best thing would be to figure out the top 3 things that you want for your day, and then be relaxed on the others. I think it's hard to find a boutique hotel in the world of all inclusive hotels in Mexico....you and your guests will have an amazing time where ever you end up, and Nov isn't a high tourist season so any hotels should be a bit on the empty side. Good luck!
  3. My FI and I thought of entering the room during the head banging part of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Something different and kooky....
  4. That's a great idea! I haven't been for my DW, but that sounds pretty reasonable.
  5. I really like the 1st one, it's nice and different Think i'm in the minority tho....
  6. We would like to take our guests on a luau in Hawaii, but I too am concerned about the costs of taking 30-40 people. Depending on numbers I may pay for half, and have the guests pay the remainder.
  7. tricky situation! Has the wedding happened yet? Do we have any follow up?
  8. I am also getting married in south Maui in early Oct next year, and my WC thought that 4pm would be a good time to start, that way we can have time to do cake cutting/toasts, take photos, and then be ready for sunset photos at 6pm. Our dinner will start around 6:30, and then we'll carry on till 10pm when the restaurant closes. I think it will depend how quickly your ceremony will be, plus how many photo's you want with guests or your bridal party before the sun sets.
  9. I think the minute it's a "private location" they can almost do what they want. When I looked into it, the hotel's were very similar to WOW in the sense that everything has to be approved by their coordinator and they charge 20% for everything. Very disappointing for you though! I've been working with Lori from Tropical Maui weddings and she's been very good and upfront about everything. She charges a higher flat rate but doesn't charge a % for anything she coordinates. Make sure you call around, and I checked multiple reviews on anyone/anything I was considering to use before confirming. It seems to me that Maui is beautiful, so I'm sure you'll find something just as nice. Good luck!
  10. The best thing to do is pick an island, or go to the various Hawaii threads in this forum. Good luck!
  11. I have to say it's rather nice to see some great marriage quotes! I'm inspired to quote some on our invitation or programs now . Thanks for sharing!
  12. That's a bit of a pain......weddings sometimes make MIL a bit crazy too, so I'm sure there are other factors involved. Maybe have a talk with her to clear the air and set up some boundaries?
  13. I wonder if this is more a Canadian thing to do? Looks like a great night!
  14. I have all my bridal party in a different country, so am only going to see them once before the wedding. I'm putting a lot trust in them, and am hoping they at least include me in what they choose to wear for the big day!!! I've left my MOH in charge of this, and just go back an forth with her when she has a question. I figure if I leave her in charge of the actual BM dresses then she feels involved but not overwhelmed..... I hope anyways
  15. Personally, I wouldn't bother with "thank you" cards for those who have booked, depending on how many are attending, a follow up call might be nice. Save the thank you cards to send after the wedding..... Regarding the paper invites, are you asking to only send them to those without emails? If you are happy with that, then go for it! I am only sending paper invites to those who have booked (this was a compromise with my HTB) as I was hoping to get away with the email thing too
