  1. That is including the DJ yes. I only brought my song for the first dance on a CD and I let him take his own music. The music was very good, everyone was up and dancing there were new hits and classics.
  2. Thanks, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you will be upgraded but like you said i'm sure you will have fun anyways, it is a great resort, so much to see and do.
  3. Hey everyone, I just came back yesturday from our wedding and honeymoon. I got married on April 5 and it was beautiful. I just wanted to say to all my group was upgraded to the Royal Suites too and it was AMAZING. All 27 of my guests enjoyed the extra services, free internet, private pools and butler service. No one had any issues with the rooms has they are really beautiful. Some other guests that didn't book in our wedding group said they had nice rooms too but nothing compare to the ones they saw in the Royal. I dont think it was an issue for meeting the people staying at the Palace, our group seems to have this meeting place so no one was ever left out. We were really grateful to be upgraded and wouldn't have change anything about it. The wedding was great really beautiful, we had a semi-private dinner at Le Arrecife and it was great. I didn't even notice there were other people in the restaurant. We then had the beach party. It was the BEST part of the day and so worth it. It is expensive, I paid $720 for 35 guests, but seeing everyone up and dancing and having a blast, it made us so happy and glad we did it. So anyone not sure about doing this, please do it, you wont regret it. We paid the wedding package by credit card. I dont know about flowers or hair as I brought my own flowers and did my own hair. For HDC I had prepare a money order before I left for the exact amount, I think that was the best way to go. I will try to get a full review soon, but if you have questions in the meantime, just ask
  4. Thanks for the information, it is really helpful. I'm glad to know they dont have a problem cooking the beef a little more for the people who likes thier well done. I haven't though about the kids cause I didn't had any coming at the beggining but now I have 3 who's parents booked last minute. Do I have to ask Caroline about the burgers and fries or it something they just do for all kids? I'm happy to hear that all of your guests liked it, its hard sometime to choose only one option for everyone, but im sure it will be fine. I'm glad they do little menus too as I am not bringing anything with me.
  5. I heard from another bride that they cook it medium-well. Maybe you can ask Carolina to make an exception for your wedding and have them cook it a little less so your guests enjoy them more. But you cant please everyone, you have to choose and hope that your guests are gonna love it. From the reviews I am pretty confident it will be great.
  6. So I talked with my FI yesterday and he would really like to go with the beef medallions so this is what we will do. If it is not cook enough for certain persons we will just ask the servers to bring them back and cook them a little more. I dont think they will have a problem doing that. We will probably take the ceasar salad to start and the fruits with desert since we will have the wedding cake too. Another thing to cross off my list.....
  7. Well if is is cook the same way for everyone, that means some people will not like it. I think someone who like their steak rare could always eat their well-done but it doesnt always work the other way around. I couldn't eat steak that has a little bit of red or blood, it really gross me out. I guess that if I go with the chicken, there is only one way to cook it. Does anyone know if the chicken Tetrazzini had good review??
  8. I have another question. I am leaving in a week and I'm starting to think about the menu. I know lots of brides have said that the beef medallions are excellent. I am concerns about how it's cooked, a lot of people have different taste, some like their meat red and some others like myself like their meat well done. Does servers come and ask how everyone wants it cook or do they only do it one way for everyone.
  9. Is everyone bringing a cake topper? I wasnt really planning bringing one but I was wondering if they put anything if I dont bring my own....
  10. I am sorry to hear that you have so much trouble having everything confirmed. Since I only wanted the beach party, i never looked at the other options. For me when I started planning it was mentionned 20+ for the beach party so I was fine. I think that if you still have the information of when you booked you should be able to have them respect what was mentionned at that time. My TA has been great, she had called Carolina directly to confirm my wedding date and time and beach party while I was sitting in her office. I was pretty impressed with her and everything has been really easy for me since she's doing all the work and answering all my questions
  11. My planning is coming along very well as I am leaving in three weeks from now. I've met with my TA last week and we went over everyting (Ive never spoke to Carolina directly, i've done everything through my TA). I am now at 32 guests and some are still looking for last minute so this number might go up a little bit. I am doing a symbolic wedding (already got married here in Canada on valentine's day) and having a semi-private dinner and the private beach party. My TA found out that Carolina has a big book that we can sign that will look exactly like it would be a civil wedding except that mine will be done in french instead of spanish then translated to english. My main concern right now is wether to have my wedding on the beach or in the gazebo. We are now schedule to have it on the beach at 3pm but we might change our mind once we see the gazebo. My TA told me I can change my mind once i'm there, they are doing no more than 2 weddings a day and they are not schedule at the same time so there's no problem if I want to change. We chose the beach at the beggining cause we though why go all the way to Punta Cana and not get married on the beach. But now were thinking that the gazebo will be more private and the guest will have more shadow to get away from the sun. We will still get pictures on the beach.....so I guess we will see once we get there. I am booked with HDC, they have been incredible to work with so far, they've answered all my questions very fast. Their pictures are fantastic and I'm not worried mine will turn out great.
  12. Hi girls, I have two more questions for you: 1. Since I'm having a symbolic wedding, can I write my own ceremony scrip and they will read it as it is written? 2. Does anyone kow how much it cost to have a private dinner on the beach for 2 people? I would like to this as a gift for friends who have help us a lot in our wedding planning.
  13. We have 27 guests leaving from Ottawa for the first week of April 2011. We are paying $1450 per person but that is in the palace section for a standard room. I know the Royal Suites are more expensive. We have booked our trip back in october.
  14. Hi Chell44 I would really like a copy, I'm doing a symbolic ceremony but the legal one will give me an idea for sure. My email is : [email protected] Thanks
  15. How are you choosing your menu. I would like to make my decision before I get there so it's one less thing to think about. Are you going with what you like or what you think your group will like. I think it's so hard to choose without tasting the food ahead of time.
