I know exactly what you mean, we're hoping for a October 2011 wedding and it's been a struggle to source decent accommodation. I've found Trip advisor very helpful and have read all the reviews on any place I've started to consider. Do you have anywhere in mind at the moment? For price and location I'm looking at the Aston at the Maui Banyan right now....I'm hopefully going to talk to someone who's husband works in the hotel industry (and is a frequent traveller to Hawaii) to find out if it's any good

Welcome! I'm in a similar situation as I'm Canadian and my partner is Aussie, so Hawaii seemed like the perfect meeting point for our guests. The first thing I would suggest is to decide which island would suits what you guys want to do while you're there (I think we'll be in Maui since it has great beaches, snorkelling, surfing and seemingly nicer out of the way spots then Oahu), and if you're cheesy, you get to say you've been "maui'ed"....... look forward to seeing you around the site!

I haven't booked anything yet, but think we will end up on the island of Maui for the big day.
