They have meal plans from 35 -65 usd a person, plus alcohol. And, they dont charge extra for beach setup...just a tent for $125 i think. Jellyfish Restaurant | Bavaro, Punta Cana | Restaurant, Bar, Lounge, Weddings, Events I would def. check it out! this place looks really neat! my worry is, you hear about all this stuff about going off ur resort and not eating anywhere else. makes me a little nervous about trying it. but it looks really well done.
  2. have any of you spoke to a travel agent at this point? if so what have they said about pricing and booking? travel agent i went to came back with a price of 1500 before tax per person, which is a lot compared to what i paid last yr. she said to check back in jan. but my fi an i wanted to get invites out right around then. how soon did u put ur invites out?
  3. my best friend is getting married this yr and she asked me to be her bridesmaid by doing this: she sent me a package in the mail, i opened it and there was a card and a bunch of puzzle peices. the card said open last. so as i put the puzzle together it was random pics of her and i and it said along the top. i would be honored if you would be my bridesmaid. then i opened the card and there was a bunch of mushy sweetness inside. very creative!!!
  4. how did u get a chance to tour through so many resorts? my FI and i stayed at the bahia and are thinking bout doing our wedding there. we did sneak into the majestic while we were there as its next door. beautiful, more modern looking. so thats also on our list.

That's what the at home reception is for, right? i was thinking the same thing. only because we have so little ppl coming. about 30 ppl if everyone says ok. saves on cost as well
  6. hey everyone! i'm getting married july 2011 in D.R either at bahia or majestic. i have bought my dress, ordered it 2 weeks ago. you know what they say, as soon as you find the one, GET IT lol but thats about as far as i am at this point. just reading everyones planing on here. getting to know things i would never have thought about OOT's ect. One thing i do have my mind set on is gettig my guests a mini bubby mug. you can find them @ canadian tire. my FI and i went away last yr and used them. best thing i was ever told to bring.
  7. i am not choosing to have my sis in the wedding. only because we havent been very close up until the last couple years. i hope she will understand. i feel ur stress. maybe try to incorporate her into something else. such as a reading of some sort.
  8. hey everyone! I'm thinking of going with a wild fu colour for my shoes. thinking like hot pink or fucsia. what are you ladies doing? and if you have any pics post them as well.
  9. i on the other hand purchased this dress 2 weeks ago for my wedding. with any dress you should definitly hunt it down and try it on. yes the flowers dont have the wow factor that i thought they would be. but i found that the dress was very flattering on me. i am short, 5'3 and didnt find it made me look any short then and other dress. but you will know your dress the minute you put it on. so dont just buy on line before trying this or any dress on. cause like the ladies said u may not end up liking it.
  10. what company are u ladies looking at? is anyone here from the toronto area?

Check out this link, it should answer all of your questions: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...e-items-28059/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...re-shop-38128/ Good Luck! When are you getting married? ~ Erica hey! thanks for the links! i'm getting married july 2011 in dominican. havent decided whether to go to bahia principe(been there before) or go to majestic.

  15. i am planning on getting married there in 2011. i am not sure what the centre pieces are, but from reading a lot of post on here. it seems like ppl are bringing their own......when is ur date?
  16. i'm getting married july 2011, works out best for a lot of my guests

I am getting my girls parasols and wrist corsages to save a bit of money. If you are interested in the prices I got from the web site I posted PM me and I get back to you. sorry i am alittle confused..... are we talking about silk flowers? i am so loast with planning a destination wedding. i am getting married july 2011. so i dont know where to begin and what to do first lol

You will choose the colour. Therefore, you would select a colour scheme for your wedding. Since the BM dresses are tangarine, we are going with an orange colouring sheme. We will use this colour for some of the flowers (that they supply) and also for the centerpieces that we need to supply. I was thinking that I would purchase some small glass containers (cheap ones) from Michaels. So I will try and find some flowers around the resort, put them into the water and then have a floating candle on the top. Also thinking that if we go with orange, I could probably pick up some orange floating candles just after Halloween. It would make for a good DIY project and be very inexpensive. For a photographer, we approached a school chum and unfortunately although he was very willing to do a destination wedding, we could only swing it if he would take the trip as a vacation and just get paid for the wedding job. He was looking for us to pay for his trip and the photography so therefore I think that we will just go with the resort photographer and try and get a deal. There pricing seems very expensive. thank you so much! that helped out a little. answered some questions. but like i said it seems all very stressful, which i thought it would be the other way around.

  20. hi ladies. glad to hear all you planning is coming along. i'm not getting married till july 2011 but i'm trying to get my head around the details sooner than later. what do you mean about colour scheme? are you bringing a bunch of centre peices ect yourself? dont they just have different colours for you to choose from? and for everyone, what about photogrpahy? this is a major thing for me. what are you ladies using? resort photographers? i hear some ppl fly in someone. i dont know, all very confusing lol i thought this was suppose to be less stressful lol thanks!
