  2. welcome! i am also getting married in the DR. not sure of your resort, but look under the DR forum area. you might find some info there.
  3. great pics! i love how everyone matched in colour. looks great!
  4. trying to find a site for paper lanterns. i have taken a look at a few, but they dont seem that great. if anyone comes across one pls let me know. thanks. also, that time is coming where i think i need to sit with a TA. I'm getting married July 8 2011, when do you think i should tell ppl to have their deposits in by? i am afraid of the resort over booking. i havent sent out my invites yet, waiting till the jan 2011 mark.
  5. ok so this has nothing to do with my wedding, but i am stuck and figured you ladies could help me. my best friend is getting married in a couple wks, and she has told her bridesmaids to pick a song to walk into the reception too, along with the guy you will be walking the aisle with.... well thats great considering i dont know the guy i am walking with lol. i emailed the guy, and he basically doesnt care what song, and was no help to me.... so do any of you have any ideas what song i could pick.......so stuck!
  6. i am not doing a bag either. i got my girls all beach towels that say "bridesmaid" "Maid of Honnor" and "Mother of the Bride" stitched on them. my FI didnt want his guys to have them. And as a thank you gift, that most ppl give out at the end of a reception, we are going to get everyones photo taken some time during the trip by out photographer and frame that for them. so they'll have a nice prof. photo to keep. because some of the guests, this is their first trip.

  8. here are some pics from when my FI and i went down last year for a vacation.....great resort!!!! This is a wedding that was going on when we were on the beach. And this made us decide we for sure DONT want a beach wedding. Hence the man in the speedo, and yellow caution tape. This was the view from our room. We loved it. We got to see if the pool was busy but had great palms to give us privacy. This is where we are having our private reception. The Garden Grill. Great food! Just a nive pic of the lobby alive at night. They have great drinks! I would highly recomend the Diamond Club. We had super fast check in, you get this cute little room with a bar in it to go to for internet, this is also where the private check in is. You get extra dinners, as well as the diamond pool. which wasnever busy! it was great. you had the option of a nice relaxing pool or head over to the main pools for some parties. I do have more pictures, if anyone wants to request a certain pic. i will check to see if i took one. hope this helps.

  13. looking for a tropical blue, green and or pink. i'm not to picky. thanks
  14. hey everyone! i am getting married at the bahia on july 8 2011. ana has been a great help for me as well! one of my friends is a photographer and she is coming down for our wedding. if you are getting married during the week of july 3-9 i can ask her if she would feel up to "working" on her vacation. quick question in regards to the last post.....what is this surcharge for photography? do i have to pay something to have my friend take photos of the wedding? i have been to this resort on vacation last year, and i will hunt some pics down to upload on here. great place! i have choosen the gazebo(white one) and my time is at 1pm. we are having a private reception at the garden grill. any questions let me know! thanks ladies
  15. everything is amazing. i love the colours! so did the resort supply the lanterns? or did u bring them. as well as the chair wraps.
  16. i know a friend of mine who had a wedding in the early afternoon. and she actually loved it! she did the ceremony, and had a reception after.( just as if you were to have one later in the day). but the best part was she said was she got to purchase an evening dress. after the reception and all that fun. everyone took a break from each other to nap, refresh ect, then they hit up the resort disco and had a great night. she said it was almost like 2 receptions. she really enjoyed it!!!!!! my cemermony is at 1pm, so not far from ur time. and althou it may seem shitty, just think you get the WHOLE day to party it up and celebrate!

Alot of people are usually super busy during that month, with xmas and all. thinking maybe jan then. that way the invites dont get lost in the bussel of christmas.
  19. here are our table numbers/names. i am going to get a small tip marker and write the names of the guest on it. long story short, my FI and i met on lawn chairs.
  20. going to use these as my table names. going to get a small tip black mark and write the name of the guest on the chair. long story short, my FI and i met on a lawn chair.....
  21. i love when i come across posts like this! so exciting is right! hope it was magical!
  22. so i m trying to think to myself as to when to send out the actual invites to the wedding. i am getting married july 8th 2011, and have sent out save the dates. so how much in advance do u send out invites for a destination wedding? when we sent the std's out, we put the date of the wedding, but didnt really state what week ppl should be booking off work. i have not booked with a travel agent yet. have started speaking to one. so when is when? lol
