Everyone was in surfer boy/girl attire, the groom & groomsmen even had solid dark brown board shorts on with nicer White button down shirts and most of the girls wore sundresses. It completely fit the two of them perfectly , they are surfers and actually moved to Costa Rica after the wedding . I think this looks beautiful. We may do chairs after all. I will let you know what we decide! Thanks to everyone for their thoughts!
  2. Okay, this might be crazy, but has anyone used beach mats instead of chairs for the wedding? I really don't like the way just 20 chairs look on the beach. I know some people have their guests stand, but I don't like that either. Let the badgering begin!
  3. I agree with most of the others here. We found out today that our pp transportation costs will be $40, which is quite a bit more than $12, and yet we will have to pay it in our minds. We want our guests to feel completely pampered on our wedding day since they are traveling so far to join us.
  4. If you still have these available, I would like to buy all 19. Thanks!
  5. Love this! Thanks! I will definately include pashminas or sarongs... I might even make 60x60 beach blankets!
  6. I believe you can change your name to whatever you want. My college roommate's parents didn't like either of their names, so they just chose something completely new to go by! It is not traditional, but it is legal.
  7. I don't know where I got this, but I have always thought that it was bad luck to try on wedding dresses before you were engaged. However, we have been engaged for two years now and only have 5 months left before the wedding and I still haven't tried a single dress on! I have looked at tons of pictures, I just don't have anyone who lives close enough to go with me to the salon. I guess I better get with it or I'll be in trouble!
  8. I am trying to do the impossible - avoid hurting my sis but not have her in the wedding. As of right now, my sister is just barely accepting that I am getting married on a beach (aka NOT in a church) by someone other than a Catholic priest, to a person she doesn't like. She and I have tried to be tactful in our discussions, but it is obvious she is not thrilled about the wedding. I was her MOH, but with our disagreements about my wedding, I don't want to ask her to be mine. I went ahead and asked my wonderfully supportive brother to stand up with me, but am trying to decide if I should ask her to at least be a BM. The truth is, we only have five months to go before the wedding and I really don't know if she will be supportive enough by then to stand up with me. Should I ask her to stand up or sit down?
  9. I think $200 is too much, but I have a MOH who is super cheap. I'll probably just buy her dress outright so I don't have to listen to her complain!
  10. We are hoping my FI's 8 year old daughter will walk down with our 2 year old daughter. Since they are super close, I think it will work. But since everything she does is cute (I'm biased), I don't think it will matter. As long as they are both as happy as we are, it's okay if thier personality comes out a bit! We are planning on doing the sand ceremony all together, as a way to join together as a family. That might give them a part of the wedding to look forward to, so they don't wander off! =)
  11. I will take all the lanterns as long as shipping isn't too crazy to 66018. Thanks!
  12. I am interested in the beads, all but the two large ones in the center. Can you calculate shipping to 66018? Thanks!
  13. I was going to include some kind of room freshener in the OOT bags, but maybe matchbooks would work for those moments when you wish you weren't in such close quarters! Love it!
