When I first got engaged I created a notebook with pics of dresses, hairstyles, colors, centerpieces, etc. Anything and everything that I might want as inspiration. Now that I have decided on a destination wedding I don't really look at it all that much. I have started a binder like the other ladies have suggested to keep me organized. Happy planning!

I think my biggest stress factor was trying to make everyone else happy instead of myself. It made planning a headache and I didn't want to do it. My best friend told me not to worry about it and to do what I want, otherwise I'm not going enjoy my day. I did and planning has been much easier now!! -

I was in a similar situation, engaged for over a year, didn't know where to start, changed my mind a million times, but now I'm to the fun stuff....planning! I was looking at Cabo VS Riviera Maya and decided upon Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. Love the location, the beautiful Caribbean waters and the resort. Enjoy this site, there is TONS of info!!!

I hope to send my STD's out by the end of this year for a Sept. 2010 wedding. We are including our website and will post all information on that site. Our friends did it that way and it seemed to work well for them. They would send out monthly reminders to everyone as well. We are paying for our wedding, so if I can save on not sending out formal invites I will!

I tried to keep my STD's as simple as possible. I added at the bottom of the STD, " For additional information and to RSVP please visit our wedding website at....

i ran into the same problem. just when i found a place i loved, they didn't allow outside vendors. we are getting married at the royal in playa del carmen. you just have to pay a day pass for them.

welcome! after starting to plan an at home wedding, I too realized it wasn't "us" and it was much more expensive. Best advice I have learned it to do what you want, don't worry about pleasing everyone else. Worrying about everyone else has been a huge slow down for us, but we are back on track now :-)
