  1. I do Birkram Yoga and I LOVE IT! Talk about sweating, you will come out like you just took a shower...LOL. The health benefits are amazing and you burn an insane amount of calories. I believe an instructor told me its upwards of 600 calories in a 90 minute period. I know for me I come out not only feeling like I had a great workout, but like a more positive person as well! The only advice I can offer is drink LOTS of water before and don't eat right before either.

I dont know how the one in Playa looks. My wedding was at the RIU, I would not recommend the ones in playa." I recently went to a wedding at The Royal. The rooms and staff were amazing. The only problem we had was they gave us a room with 2 double beds, so make sure to tell your guests to request a king size. I really loved how the town of Playa del Carmen was less than 5 minutes away walking for those who wanted to get out and explore. I would definitely recomend this resort again! Happy Planning!
  3. white gold is actually rhodium plated yellow gold. you will find over time with your engagement ring you will probably have to re-rhodium plate it once every 1-2 years (depending on wear, etc.) That is so special your moms ring works with yours though! I wanted to use the diamond my dad gave my mom (they are divorced) but she didn't want to give it up yet:-(.
  4. WOW! absolutely amazing. I cannot imagine the amount of time you spent putting it all together. Great ideas!

That sucks 'cause I was thinking of getting Elizabeth Medina and bringing in a salsa band and don't want to settle with what the hotel offers. I just went to a wedding at The Royal and I know the bride hired an outside photog. They just had a symbolic ceremony so I am not sure if that had anything to do with it.
  6. My head is spinning too....LOL! I am planning a May 2010 wedding and my mind changes on a daily basis. I attended a wedding at The Royal in Playa del Carmen. We had a great experience and I would definitely recommend the resort. I would have my wedding there, but my fiance says we need our own identity....LOL
  7. we were together 6 years before he proposed. we will be together about 7.5 years when we get married. time sure flies! :-)
  8. Yay for you! I have a lot of clients that will pair a band with a colored gemstone. Just a thought. Heart shaped diamonds are very pretty, actually one of the hardest cuts of diamonds! I wouldn't recommend purchasing a stone sight unseen. I had a friend recently do that and the diamond he thought he was getting was not the one he got. Sapphires that are deeper in color will be more pricey and rare, that is why you do not see alot of them
  9. I work for a high end jewelry store and I agree with NJ bride that it sounds as if your stones were color treated. Many times companies color treat a stone to enhance the color, hide imperfections, etc. Every company is going to have their own standards on what type of enhancements they allow. For example the process of heating a gemstone to improve its color or clarity can be acceptable depending on the company. It sounds like your stones were either dyed or infused. Infusion uses colored oils that can dry out or be removed due to ultrasonic cleaning. I would recommend educating yourself on the various jewelry companies, various enhancements and whether or not they enhance their stones. I was in Mexico a few months ago looking at a Tanzanite. I asked the sales person if their stones were enhanced, he said absolutely not. Tanzanites receive their color by heat treatments, otherwise they would not be as vibrant in color. At that point I knew I could not trust what he was trying to sell to me. Keep in mind the toughness of the stone as well. Although tourmalines and topaz's are higher on the hardness scale, they are considered to be fair when it comes to toughness. Probably not a great choice for something you will be wearing on a daily basis. If you love pink I would look into pink sapphire. It is a hard stone (ranks a 9) and excellent when it comes to toughness as well. Sapphires should be cleaned with warm soapy water, steamer or ultrasonic cleaner. Acceptable enhancements would be heat treatment or infusion of colorless oils which is used for durability. Keep in mind (and it sounds like you have some time) this will eventually turn into an investment. Stones of excellent quality are rare and will probably appreciate. If the deal sounds too good to be true it probably is. This is something you will have forever. Hope this info helps!
  10. what great information. i am not a spread sheet maker and you have just made my headache go away...LOL THANK YOU!!!
  11. If anyone could post pics or other information that would be great! I am considering this resort for my May 2010 wedding. We are planning a trip to visit all of our "choices" in the early summer. Just trying to gather as much info as possible! Thanks!
  12. Thank you so much for your detailed experience. I am considering this hotel for my May 2010 wedding and I am so glad to hear to had a great experience! Thanks
  13. We are not having an AHR either. Aside from being extremely expensive we rather spend the money on a wonderful honeymoon. The way I look at it, all guests will have ample time to plan their finances and if they really want to be a part of the festivities they will find a way to come. It sounds harsh, but it is our special day! :-)
  14. You will love Riviera Maya, it is beautiful. I just attended a wedding in Playa del Carmen at The Royal. I have decided to get married somewhere down there next year. My mind changes on a daily basis though:)! I really loved the beaches of Tulum, but loved the city of Playa del Carmen. The Royal was AI and was about 3 blocks from the main area of Playa del Carmen. I really liked this because you did not feel secluded and could get out of the hotel easily to explore. Most bars/restaurants and boats to Cozumel were only a short walk away. Congrats!
