I may do just that, get heels for the ceremony (gazebo) and then some sort of wedge in case I need it

I bought cheap bubble wrap at the dollar store, so I think they will make it their unharmed! I would definitely NOT check these under the plane! Good idea on getting them down there. I love them as well, may have to think about doing something similar. Thanks for sharing!

Just so you know, I felt the same way!!! I don't like shopping (don't get me wrong, I love new clothes but just not the process of getting them) and wasn't looking forward to trying on a zillion dresses all day long....Thankfully, I had a friend with me who was such a great help - and I found my dress at the 2nd store! It really was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be - bring someone who can help make the day fun! (and know that you aren't the only one!). I am now excited b/c I found a dress!!
  5. so so SO amazing!! Absolutely beautiful pictures (loving the underwater ones) and it looks like you had a great day! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
  6. What a great review. Although I can't see all of the pics, the ones I can look wonderful! Congrats!
  7. I like it too. It's simple and elegant - I am also a fan of the love/friendship part. Go for it, girl!
  8. I just want to say that I love these invites and used them as inspiration for my own - especially the wording. Love it!

If your dress needs to be ordered it can take a minimum of 4 months.... I wore a bra and regular underwear... At the bridal shop where I got mine, they don't start alterations until a month before the wedding because they know that many girls lose weight. Maybe yours will be the same!!

The guests will then not be with everyone and will have to pay the cost to get to the wedding. The online companies suck people in by offering lower rates as they do not have to honor every room that is booked at the resort where the client thinks they are booking at! It is stated in the onlines terms & conditions. I spoke with TA's who said similar things but they, also, could not guarantee that we wouldn't be bumped if we booked through them. Only some vendors that TA's use have a 'no bump' contract, not all, so we decided that it wasn't worth spending that much extra money. I had also emailed my WC and asked what she thought the likelihood was of the resort selling out during our week, which she said was on the low side...

I think that even if it rains in Mexico, it's usually brief and not like rain here (well, where I am, not sure about everyone else!). I figure it's not worth it too stress too much - if I were having a stateside wedding I would DEFINITELY be worrying b/c there is so much more of a chance of rain - weather is just one of those thing that every bride worries about! Quote: Originally Posted by heidilynn28 Hi everyone! I just got back from a week's stay at the Royal in PDC. We witnessed 3 weddings during our stay.. one in the lobby garden (Mexican, local wedding) with like 100 guests.. it rained (spitted a bit) around 6h30, everyone went into the lobby for about 25 mins and when it was over, everyone went back outside.. not much harm done. Another wedding was on the beach (near the beach entrance, beside the pool).. VERY close to all the beach chairs, no intimacy, in front of everyone.. if you want to get married on the beach.. you might want to rethink this one since the location isn't that great! Prepare to have everyone watching and possibly walking behind, etc. The last wedding was very small in the gazebo. Less traffic in this area (at the end of the large courtyard near the beach, but not on it). This was my favourite set up by far! I'm attaching pictures to give you an idea of the way things look... I hope it helps a few of you. Tips and advice: - Get up early (6h30 max) to reserve chairs on beach and at pool - Try to sit on the left side of the pool when facing beach or else you get shade all afternoon on the right side of pool (jacuzzi side) - Restaurants are amazing, you will eat like queens and kings.. - Say NO to the sales meeting the first morning (they will say it's not timesharing but it is.. we were stuck there for 3 hours because they wanted us to be club members and they will deal you down but they lie lie lie so just refuse and don't get sucked in like us.) - Do order room service it is absolutely yummy, especially breakfast (beats the buffet hands down). You can order bottles of wine or sparkling wine with room service no problem - Very windy in the evenings, bring long sleeved shirts, especially if you want to eat at Pelicanos restaurant, which has no wind protection, it's all open - 5th Avenue is 2 blocks away from the hotel. Coco bongo + other clubs are within a 5-min walk - The shows SUCK, they are cheesy and corny and not worth it... plus they only start at 9h45 (a bit late). - If you're a light sleeper and go to bed early, ask for your room to be far from the lobby.. the music and shows are so loud until at least 11pm so don't expect to sleep easily at this time - Activity team at the beach is amazing.. Rosario, Adam and Oscar will stand out.. they get points if you give them good comments on your checkout survey, the employees get days off if they have enough points - Asiana restaurant is amazing. The restaurants across the street at Gran Porto Real are good, but the service is one notch down from Royal.. but it can be different to go over there. I guess that's about it.. if any of you have more questions, feel free. I'll try to check back in this thread often to help out! [/img] THANK YOU!

If you're looking for a dress that gives you a wicked shape but is light weight enough you won't totally melt down south...this is definitely a great choice! For those Toronto girls....I ordered mine from Bridal and Beyond! What do you think? You both look beautiful!!!
