  1. Hey Ladies! I just remembered something I've been meaning to ask! I think I've been forgetting for days...don't you hate that?? Anyways, does anyone know the specific companies that the MP uses to book excursions? You know, at the counters down in the lobbies? I really want to check some stuff out before I get there if possible! Thanks! Nina C.
  2. I'm using Claudia for my TTD! We are planning on going off-site for ours too! Good luck! TTD looks like SO much fun...we are really looking forward to doing it!!
  3. In the meantime, a lot of photography students here at school use blurb.com to make their albums - and they are really inexpensive. I read a recommendation for that website in Brides magazine once too - and I was like, hey, my RA uses that! LOL! We are planning on using Blurb for our guestbook, and I'm going to use it for my BD book for Matt too!
  4. Happy Birthday Tammy!! I hope you get lots of puppy kisses and plenty of presents!!
  5. Thanks Tammy! I love that dress. *sigh* Anita, that dress is so pretty - the back is so unique. 20lbs heavier, what are you talking about? You look pretty skinny to me!!
  6. I'm not really sure - I know that if we don't get enough people though, it says on the contract they might consider voiding our group agreement. I'm not really sure what happens then! *stresses* Our group contract is for 15 rooms, and I'm hoping we'll be able to make at least 10, so that should be enough! As we get closer, a lot of people I assumed would be staying in doubles and bringing guests are ending up coming single and rooming with other singles, which is cutting down on our room count. I just realized that very silly me forgot to put an RSVP deadline on our invites, so I am making some postcards on VistaPrint (they are FREE right now! For 100!!!) to get that information out and let people know about the payment deadlines. So hopefully, that will help. I hope I'm just stressing for nothing!
  7. I know!!! I only have two people with flights booked - no one besides us with rooms yet. I feel like I should be WAY further along than that - I'm trying to resist the urge to start badgering people. We have a clause in our group contract that states that 50% has to be paid by April 5th, so I am nervous that people aren't thinking about it. Our invites just went out though, so hopefully people will start thinking about it more. We'll see. If we don't end up having a lot of people, we will probably just do a shorter cocktail reception with dancing, not a full on dinner! I always figured I'd just do the ipod system - Matt's brother is pretty 'hip' or whatever - he should be able to pick some good music for dancing!
  8. I have two dresses - my DRESS, and my TTD. I was going to put them both in the same back and just carry on and hope for the best. I'm flying Mexicana, and from what I understand, there is no closet. I was planning on folding them in half and laying them over the top of an overhead bin - and keeping an eye on it like a hawk to keep anyone else from touching it. But...if it gets wrinkled, I'll just spend the extra money to get it steamed...I'm kind of figuring I'm going to have to do that anyways!
  9. This is great! I'm going to save it and put it on my website!! Thanks for thinking of us!
  10. Cool! This makes me more excited for our honeymoon - the Excellence Riviera Cancun made a few lists! I'm most excited about the ranking in the Most Romantic category though! Woot woot!!
  11. Dana, Ugh! I guess I'll have to work that videography into my budget. Well, maybe not, since we're waiting to see how many people we have attend before we decide about how formal the reception will be. Eh, whatever. Camie, I'm pretty sure the website says they have top shelf liquor - I'm not sure about specifics though. Maybe one of the brides who recently got married there will be able to tell you, or your WC? Also, I would imagine they would set up the reception how ever you want it set up. I can't see them forcing you to sit where they tell you to, you know?
  12. Thanks again everyone! When I get the CD, I'll post some more of my favorites - they are beautiful and I'd recommend these ladies to anyone!! I've been thinking about posting a few BD pics too...so we'll see if I end up being brave enough!!
  13. Well...I just ordered my dress, so I don't have very good pictures of it, but I'm so excited I'm going to post anyways! Here's the model picture: Here's me in the sample - it's 10 sizes too big, so you can't see the corset at all, but I love it anyways!!! I love the back...and the detailing is so pretty, but you can't really see it at all in the pictures! In May when I get it in my size, I'll post some more pictures!!!
  14. This was SOOO fun! Tammy, Trisha, and Maura are all AMAZING! We are just starting to get some photos back and I am SO impressed with all of them!! I was SO nervous about doing BD photos - I always said it was something I'd never do! But it was so much fun, and these three ladies are so awesome and make you feel so comfortable! I would definitely recommend you give it a shot!!
  15. What a gorgeous dress! It looks absolutely beautiful on you!
  16. Dana - How much is it to have the also make a DVD of the reception? Why did I think it was included in the price
  17. Shires - It looks like it was beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing all that information and the pictures! I get so giddy seeing them all! I agree about your bouquet - it is gorgeous! Congratulations!!!
  18. Shires - It looks like it was beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing all that information and the pictures! I get so giddy seeing them all! I agree about your bouquet - it is gorgeous! Congratulations!!!
  19. That is an awesome dress! I LOVE LOVE the top! I actually really like the hair down in the picture...and not to be a creeper, but your siggy pic looks like you also have gorgeous long hair. *jealous* Are you going to wear a veil?
  20. TinaM - Yeah, I really am having a hard time with it. I really want to set a schedule, but it really depends on how many people we are going to end up with going and all that! Which of course, we won't know for a while yet! I can't believe you already have so many rooms booked! I don't think ANY of our guests have booked yet. I so thought an afternoon wedding would be nice...and I always wanted to have one. But now that I'm trying to figure out reception stuff, I'm really having a hard time. Granted, most of this difficulty comes from the fact that I want to have an evening party reception...but I want to do it with my dress on! Do you think people would think it was weird if I had the wedding at 1pm, then still had my dress on in the evening I want to get as much wear out of it as I can!!
  21. I bought my first dress at David's as well, and it was a great experience! The associate I worked with was really nice and helped me find the dress I bought - even though I would have NEVER pulled it off the rack. However, the did NOT tell me that the dress was difficult to alter...which is part of the reason I'm now shopping for a new one.
  22. I ended up booking Claudia for just our TTD. She quoted me 1000 for a beach and town TTD, and 1500 for a cenote and town TTD. It's expensive, but I'm hoping it will be worth it!!!
  23. This is a gorgeous dress! I am about 5'2'' as well...I would DEFINITELY take the picture to a seamstress first. The first dress I bought, a solid lace gorgeous gorgeous dress with beautiful lace scalloped detail around the bottom and train, CANNOT be altered without cutting into the dress and hacking it up. I bought it from David's Bridal, and they didn't tell me this! When I took it to another store to have it looked at the other day, they told me they couldn't shorten it without pretty much ruining it. So, I'm also in the market for a dress!!

The girls there are usually pretty good at helping with make-up for your skin type. Have you tried mineral makeup?? It's so great!! It's light and powder only, no cakey foundation! My friend also has extra sensitive skin and she uses it and loves it. It's has such amazing coverage. It evens out my skin on those blotchy days! I'm just worried about my eyes.. I bought all new brushes and now I have to learn how to use them LOL! Good Luck ladies, I'm sure you will look beautiful Yeah, they are just building a sephora near me, so maybe it will be up soon! I have no idea when it's opening. Otherwise, I'm sure the Aveda salon I usually go to will be just fine. I NEVER wear make up, so I should go soon - I have a lot of learning to do!

I think the lighting isn't a bad idea and the price isn't too bad! Also does anyone know if the day of the wedding counts as one of the three days we need to be there? We are getting married here and having a symbolic ceremony there but I still think we need to be there early. Is anyone doing this? We both need to get passports and I'm not sure whether to get one now or wait until May (we are just going to the courthouse to marry ourselves) and then get a passport with my new name? MsLeBlanc - I wouldn't wait until May to apply for your passports if your wedding is in July - last I heard, it was taking three plus months for passport applications to go through! I'm pushing my family and friends to apply now and my wedding is also in July. When I got my passport last year, it took two months, and then when I got it, my name was spelled wrong and I had to send it back. I know if you get married, they have a form you can fill out to get your passport changed, which might be quicker than doing the whole passport process. Or, you could wait until you get back in July to change your name! Good luck!
