  1. I like the 2 tiered - especially if you're going for that really princessy look! My dress is very princessy too...I bought it way before I knew I was going to have a destination wedding. It's all lace and poofy. I'm just going to be careful with it when taking pictures...I really want to wear it all night long!! The slimmer typical DW dresses just don't look right on me cause I'm built like a string bean...I need some added curves! Your dress is soooo beautiful!!!!
  2. ooo! Good luck Joy! I was so shocked when I got the email just referring me right on...I totally thought I wouldn't get to talk to her for months yet! Your wedding date is even before mine, so maybe she'll pass you along! Alex, thanks so much for the review! It sounds like you had a fabulous time! Is anyone having an earlier wedding? Mine is at 1pm...and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to work that with dinner and everything without putting a break in!

  4. Hey all! I got assigned my onsite WC today! I was so shocked! My wedding isn't until July! I booked my wedding last week and sent in the charge authorization form, and today I emailed Katherine Rivera (my Miami WC) to ask her to send me some lists of prices for reception stuff. She just emailed me back with my onsite WC, who will be Kalena. I was soooo surprised! I was expecting it to be a huge hassle based on what others have gone through! Now I'm so excited to really get some planning done!!
  5. I know the Moon Palace has a free wedding package, because that's what FH and I are doing. I don't believe there are any minimum requirements for guests or anything like that! And, I think it's great you two feel confident enough to go it alone. FH and I have thought about doing that a few times...me probably more than him (cause my family has been giving more problems!)...LOL. I think it's great you're making your wedding about just the two of you!
  6. I got my contract within two days - but I called. I submitted an online request for July 18 for 2pm at the Moon Palace, and I got an email almost immediately saying 2pm was no longer available, so I called the woman who sent me the email (Katherine Riviera), to book the 1pm slot. She sent me the contract within 5 minutes of getting off the phone. I would call!
  7. Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone! I finally sent in my reservation request! YAY!! As soon as I get that contract, I'm sure I'm going to come up with tons of questions! I'm so excited - MP seems like the perfect place for my wedding! Marie - I don't think you're being too aggressive either. It's kind of stinky that we can't get answers until a certain date out - I understand the reasoning, but major details should be taken care of earlier! I wouldn't worry about it - get what you want!
  8. True that. I guess I must just be a little shy to jump on the bandwagon because I'm afraid something will go wrong or it will end up being too expensive for our guests (like a weird price jump or something). I think I'm just being a little overly cautious because my mom has already told me she won't be going because of cost. But, my FH and I both KNOW we want to get married at the Moon Palace, so I should just book it! Craziness!
  9. To jlwedding - we chose the Moon Palace because it looks like they have a lot of options to keep little kids and teens busy - and I read a super cute review on tripadvisor by a 14 year old, who said she had a blast. It's also huge, and I knew it would provide enough stimulation to keep even the wildest kids busy and happy! I would suggest going on tripadvisor.com and reading through some of the reviews - that's what I did. Moon Palace families consistently gave great reviews on the family-friendliness of the resort. GOOD LUCK!!!
  10. Hey everyone! I am hoping to book the 2:00pm slot on July 18th at MP! I'm so excited! I've been trying to find a good travel agent who works with the MP and will be able to get us a good deal for our guests...any one have any suggestions?? Did anyone book their wedding date before finding a TA? Is that allowed?? I'm so confused! Sorry if someone's already posted this info!!
  11. Hey Everyone! My name is Nina and my fiancee and I are working on booking our wedding for July 18th, 2009 at the Moon Palace! We are so excited! Right now we're trying to find the best prices for our guests, which has been a little confusing! But, I think we'll get there...I've already read a lot of great things on this forum! Talk to you all soon!!
