  1. Everything looks amazing - I love your veil - you looked fantastic! Can't wait for your review!
  2. Great review Ana - thanks so much. Our wedding is in 6 weeks and we have Juan Carlos too - I got so excited when I read your comments about him - I can't wait!!!
  3. It never occurred to me to ask - I would never be able to sign off on my hair style on my own!! I'm bringing my MOH and a BM.
  4. Thanks for the referral Loni - I plan to check them out. They even have a boat for 10, whereas in a lot of my research max capacity is 4-6.
  5. Hi Connie - hope everything is going great! I picked our menu blind so I'm dying to know how your tasting went. We picked a beef tenderloin with a merlot reduction sauce, mashed potatoes and baby vegetables. Let me know if you tasted any of those items or if you tasted other items you would recommend. Thanks!!
  6. Loni - sounds like everything was fabulous! Thanks for the review and tips - and congratulations!!!
  7. Thanks for the tip Jess. How big was your group and much was it per person when you did it that way, if you don't mind sharing?
  8. If it's really important to you that no one else knows other than these 2 people, I would ask someone else and tell you bf, I understand, we'll just find someone else to help us that night. Because even if your bf convinces her husband to let her go without knowing what you guys are doing, you know she will tell him when she gets home.
  9. I also did research on villas before deciding on the Hilton and what killed that idea for me was that all the villas I checked into had hefty event fees for weddings, so it defeated any cost savings I pictured. I couldn't agree more that food and drink is astronomical. I believe some people on the forum have done receptions at restaurants in the towns as a way to save money, if that's an option for you. Check out the reviews section of the forum.
  10. I think that dress is beautiful and you should keep it and wear it!! Don't they say that anything goes in a destination wedding? That said, check our Jenny Yoo Collection or jcrew's wedding line for some casual and chich wedding dresses - they are simple and elegant I think.
  11. I've been experimenting with L'oreal self tanner and really like it.
  12. Have a fabulous time! I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a wonderful wedding.
  13. I embossed my metallic envelopes with a flower stamp and had no issues - I got my embossing supplies from Paper Source. Maybe try and different brand of ink/powder?
  14. An ivory dress and white shirts will not clash. I also have an ivory dress with men wearing tan suits with white shirts.
  15. We sent ours about 10 days ago for a May 30th wedding and July AHR with a response for both in mid-April. We pretty much know everyone who is coming to and those few that may still be undecided I wanted to give ample time to book even though we did send out STDs last November too. It's a little early for rsvp'ing for AHR, but I didn't want to send 2 separate rsvp cards and I figured can't hurt to get it on calendars early! There is a small group of people only getting invites to AHR, those will go out in May.
  16. We just bought my fiance and his groomsmen calvin klein tan linen suits from the men's wearhouse (it's under 2009 wedding looks - make a splash) - they are listed as not available yet online, but they are in the stores if there's one near you.
  17. I got my wedding invites from Wedding Invitations, Bridal Shower Invitations, Wedding Stationery, Wedding Shower Invitations and the turnaround time was about a week - I was impressed. I'm sure they'll do rush orders too.
  18. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. I suggest you find out who the director of sales is at the Westin and call him or her directly. Or even call the US number for the Westin and try and get someone higher up to hear about them not giving you credit for rooms booked directly through their website. Good luck!!
  19. I agree with Nurse, I think that's one of the best things about an AHR, having the opportunity to wear your dress again! I'm super excited to wear my dress twice and so are my bridesmaids. As for your sister's comment about rewarding the guests that travel for your wedding - I doubt that anyone cares whether you wear it twice or not - they're traveling (hopefully) to see your wedding, not to see your dress. Just decide whether you'd like to wear your dress again and go from there.
  20. I would talk to your parents and brother and get their thoughts. Maybe you can rearrange and have them meet you in Macchu Pichu instead! It certainly doesn't seem worth all these issues to spend all this money on something that people don't seem to care about. I know all weddings come with bumps and stress, but this seems like way more than usual. But take a step back and decide what you really want exclusive of these problems and go from there. Good luck!
  21. I don't think it's complicated. The kids were not invited and should not be included now because they ignored the invite, especially when everyone else is sticking to it and you've made a big deal of calling others up to warn them. Imagine if those who decided not to book because of the no kids rule heard that those kids were allowed to go! We're not having kids at our wedding except for the ring bearer and flower girl - that doesn't mean that others who have kids would be mad they couldn't bring theirs - the 2 kids are in the bridal party!! I had some guests who were considering bringing their kids so they could make a family vacation out of it, which I thought was great, but they knew their kids weren't invited to the wedding/reception and were fine with that. I don't think you have to book an adults only resort if you don't want kids to attend - people don't include kids all the time no matter where the wedding is. It's a personal choice and it's up to you how you want to handle it.
  22. I am renting some basic vases from my florists for the bouquets after the ceremony and they are $10 each. There is a costco in Cabo - you can check costco's website for exact location. Though from comments on this forum, I've gathered that you can't depend on it for things like vases or candles since merchandise varies so much.
