  1. Perhaps you can get a few of the relatives who are excited about your dw to be your cheerleaders! They can drum up some excitement and the grumpy folks will realize they'll be missing out! We know you have so much to do besides trying to convince people to do something you KNOW they'll ultimately enjoy
  2. Welcome new Paradisus ladies! The maximum number of people for the beach for a ceremony is 120 and 100 for the terrace.
  3. You're not crazy. I got confused trying to follow her "logic" for everything. Is she really the best option out there? Do you feel like you can trust her word in regard to the rate (meaning no surprises later) and that she'll be at the wedding and officiate according to the agreed terms? The fact that she was not transparent regarding services and rates gives me a bad feeling about the situation. Based on your post, it seems she's not very professional and even a bit sketchy. I hope things work out for you!
  4. Brooke - Welcome! If there's anyway I can help, please let me know. Do you have the banquet list, amenities list, etc for Paradisus? If not, I can post them. Your wedding is going to be fantastic and you'll receive extra care since you'll be the only bride for that day! Yamille - lol, I think between the two of us, no decisions will ever be made! The only things I can think of that we can share are decorations (table overlays, centerpieces, chair bows, etc). Decorating is the part I dread most! Part of me wants to say screw it, just decorate through Paradisus, but the other half says to just lug all that stuff down and save money. I think it would be funny if we had twin weddings with the same decorations! Honeymoons - Kelly, your extended stay w/ Royal Service sounds fantastic. Missy, your hm sounds like SO much fun esp the Chilean wine tour -- what a great idea! Yamille, we were thinking about Belize or traveling around Mexico too. I kind of want to hang around Mexico for a few more days to relax and then take a longer honeymoon in during the freezing winter to Costa Rica or somewhere warm. I HATE winter so much. IMO, it should snow on Christmas Day and the transition to spring should begin immediately after. Photogs - I don't have any info on the resort's photographer, sorry! My photog is Elizabeth Medina. She's so nice and I love her work. Sam - I have been working with Daniela and have had only positive experiences so far. She's really friendly and responds to emails in a timely manner. What time does your wedding begin and end? Ours is 5:30-10:00 for now (including 1 hr cocktail party), but I am thinking of extending it to 11. Yet another detail undecided! Wow, just realized this is really long and I probably should return to work!

  6. I feel like guys don't truly understand the work that goes into planning a nice wedding! You should just pick them up and then he should take you on a nice date or do your laundry or something in return for your doing the work!
  7. What a beautiful story; I am so happy for you! Your daughter is absolutely adorable btw!
  8. I want a picture of everyone in the family/friends (so do the parents), so I am going to a quick group pic. How about a more relaxed pose a la Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair (maybe not as dramatic)? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3042/...4907bd47_b.jpg Everyone can stand in a more natural pose (mom/dad holding hands, bff and her bf w/ arms around each other, leaning on a rock, a sassy hand-on-hip, etc) and smile! Elizabeth has a beautiful photo of the wedding party standing/sitting by large rocks in the middle of this slideshow that I absolutely LOVE and had to bookmark. Be sure to hit pause before it moves on to the next pic! Darlene and Manoj

Keep in mind that Paradisus only has 1 wedding a day. Quote: Originally Posted by KLC77 Hey Fanny and Yamille, are you guys going to be at the resort at the same time? Not sure what to do about the hm. Quote: Originally Posted by MissyR Sorry I've been MIA the last little while - we close on our new house at the end of this month so things have been crazy! 10. Your bouquet is absolutely beautiful! I love the colors and the roses look so real!
  11. Yamille, you've got great genes! Holy cow, you don't look 33. Oh I love skincare products -- well, products in general. I'm excited to see what you ladies like! I use: Facial cleanser: Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam. It works great and has gentle tiny beads in a quantity low enough for everyday use. Btw, I LOVE this brush Shiseido The Skincare Cleansing Massage Brush - Cleansers Skincare Shiseido - Beauty - Macy's Talk about a thorough cleansing! Toner - Shiseido Balancing Softener (alcohol-free) Moisturizer - Day: Neutrogena SPF 15, Night: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Gel (I've noticed that my skin is more even) Eye cream - some Aveda moisturizing cream Mask - Aveda tourmaline charged radiance mask (skin feels so soft and clean) Blemish control - Love Clean and Clear My mom, grandma, aunts all use Shiseido products and have AMAZING skin. Hopefully, this trend won't skip me haha. Can anyone recommend an exfoliating scrub?
  12. It's a tough situation! It's poor etiquette to propose during someone's wedding weekend, but then again, Mexico is a beautiful setting for a engagement. I llike Amarillis' idea of proposing beforehand. When you get engaged you want to jump up and down and let everyone know -- I know I did! Phone calls, talks of wedding planning, retelling the proposal story a million times to a million people, etc. If he proposed during your wedding weekend, she might feel like she has to hold back on all of that out of respect. What if: He proposes a before the wedding, so she has her own "YAY, I am engaged" day to share w/ friends and family He surprises her with a bag full of wedding magazines before they get on the plane to make things fun He makes the trip extra special by arranging special activities to do together to celebrate during free time (private dinner on the beach, couples massage, etc) Every couple has a different style but just a thought!

Is it a casual setting for guests to gather before going out to a more living setting, such as the Fun Pub or Disco, later in the night? I'm also hoping to get an idea of what the Fun Pub and Disco are like for nightly entertainment... Any advice, pictures, thoughts, etc would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Steph Good question! I am wondering the same thing. Also, how long does it take to get to Cancun for nightlife and the cost of cab/shuttle? The resort says snorkeling is part of the AI package. Are there any fees involved or do you just sign up and go? Has anyone been on a trip booked through Paradisus? It's been pretty quiet on this forum!
  14. I like this mascara although I don't think it has the same effect as false eyelashes (my lashes aren't very full to begin with though). It's great at lengthening, doesn't smudge and comes off easily with warm water. It looks so pretty and natural on. If you have thick lashes and just want some length and color then it's great! It would be better if it provided more volume for me though.
  15. Hi Christina, congrats on your engagement! We were also looking at Belize and Costa Rica initially, but it was too far for some family members to travel. Have you looked at Paradisus Riviera Cancun? They only have 1 wedding per day, 6 restaurants and a kids concierge program. Check it out on Riviera Maya forum -- there are some thorough reviews (most recently posted by Becks whose wedding was just beautiful). Good luck and happy planning!
  16. Oh my goodness, I am keeping my fingers crossed for all the DT brides out there...
  17. What a romantic dress and oo, France! I'm so excited for you and your fairytale wedding!
  18. Holy cow... your family is in my thoughts. Your mom is so admirable to look past the meaness she has received and still help out the family because they are family. I can see how it is frustrating to see them take advantage of her kindness though. Hang in there and get some rest
  19. This is a really sweet song "Dance with Me" by Anthony W. Carter YouTube - Dance With Me- New Wedding Song / Wedding Music (1st Dance) Guitar and vocals are so romantic
  20. Coolest Drop Of Rain by Daniel Ho what a great song!
