  1. Since your photographer will only be with you for 3 hours ending shortly before dinner, perhaps you can give a bigger tip and a thank you card to show appreciation instead of dinner. This way, you can have a sit-down dinner and still give the photog a thank you gift.
  2. AllTourNative Alltournative - Off Track Adventures Hi all, this looks like a great tour company. I think a few BDW brides have gone on one of their excursions and really liked it. Would you mind posting a review of your tour and some pictures? The FI and I are honeymooning in Mexico, and I'm really excited about exploring the RM!
  3. You look gorgeous Sherry -- great photos! The sleeves are such an elegant touch
  4. Hi Madbride, my TA quoted for a 3-night stay, $535 pp (incl taxes, airport transfer) in the basic garden-view room. For the reception, I priced out a cocktail hh w/ a few hor'ds and a buffet dinner to be about $130 pp incl taxes and gratuity. I hope that helps!
  5. One year a couple of friends and I went as Alvin and the Chipmunks. We purchased super large t-shirts in red, green and blue, found Simon's round glasses, found a red hat for Alvin and used tape to make Alvin's A I told FI that we should go as "apple bottom jeans" and "them boots w/ da furr." I can tape red apples to the back pocket of my jeans and he can dress up like a big boot w/ fur. Stupid, I know, but I can't think of anything else
  6. Have a fun time, Jennifer! Hey, do you want to switch jobs?! lol Btw, will you be stopping by Paradisus?
  7. I feel the same way! FI and I had this conversation this weekend. I don't want to change my name, but he wants our future family to be united under one name. A friend and her husband both changed their names to a hypenated version of their last names. So, it's Joe Hislastname-Herlastname and Sally Hislastname-Herlastname. This isn't an option for us as our last names will be so long! We talked about picking a random last name for both of us to keep things fair, but I don't know about that. Right now, my plan is to avoid the situation for as long as possible

I feel like there should be bounty hunters for fugitive rsvp cards. Now, I am worried that my Feb 1 rsvp date for a mid-May wedding is futile.
  9. Thanks for the tip! Your wedding is coming up -- how exciting!
  10. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that he's designing a line of gowns for $2200-3000! AND it's supposed to debut this month! I love my dress, but wow, Angel Sanchez's gowns are SO beautiful... Wedded Bits | Angel Sanchez perfect bound: bridal, style, design & dish: angel sanchez: expert advise Wish I knew earlier! Have fun ladies who still need dresses!
  11. I've been on a travel slump for 2 years now, and it's driving me crazy! Thank goodness for a destination wedding! At first, we were considering purchasing around the world tickets for the honeymoon and having a small family only wedding. In the end, I wanted a bigger wedding w/ family and friends 1. China (Beijing, Tibet, Xi'an, all over) 2. Singapore 3. Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh) 4. Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Phanyang) 5. Cambodia (Siem Riep, Phnom Penh) I studied abroad in Beijing and after the semester was over, 4 other study abroad friends and I bought "Lonely Planet on a Shoestring Budget SE Asia" and backpacked for a few weeks. One of the "friends" is now my fiance Next on my list: Peru, Chile, Argentina
  12. I love dogs and brought home my first puppy this summer! She's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Indy. Since I was little, I had always imagined my dog being in my wedding. Sadly, Indy won't be coming with us to Mexico, so I'll miss her dearly! Nap time!
  13. Hey, I don't have my info w/ me but that sounds about right. Did you receive an amenities list from her? It has pricing for music and other things. I'll take a look at the document when I get home if someone hasn't already answered your question. Btw, I arrive at Paradisus the day of your wedding! Ooo! I am going to sneak a peek from afar!

  15. Blue Buffalo has great quality food - all natural!
  16. Yeah, I know what you mean. It's like if you remove the bachelor party and strip club element from it, that type of behavior is like cheating!
  17. Ick! is the first thing that comes to mind in regard to strip clubs! I went to a club w/ male dancers (no naked ppl thank goodness) as part of a girl friend's bday party and it was SO goofy! Imagine a guy wearing sunglasses, lip synching to some boyband song w/ a dozen roses in one hand -- all in tiny underwear. LOL. Just ridiculousness! Which is all that is... unless you're T-Pain and think you're in "in luv wit a stripper" LOL
  18. You should do whatever you like The FI and I like the idea of a bout for him b/c it adds some color his ensemble. He'll have a boutonierre (single pink calla) while the groomsmen will not have bouts. He's wearing a light tan suit and the guys are wearing white shirts w/ khaki pants.
  19. I love Laura Mercier. She has a great oil-free tinted moisturizer that I wear daily. For color, Nars products have good pigments. I use their bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, and lip gloss. Try going to a counter or Sephora on a weekday to avoid a huge crowd and you'll get more time w/ the makeup artist. Have fun!
