Thanks Jenny for the pictures and also Anna for the menu! I just sent in my desposit for Paradisus yesterday, but now I may have a change of heart! Le Meridien reception package is amazing with all the options and there seems to be more freedom to customize (no required photog, etc) without penalty. And it's beautiful there! Is there a length of stay requirement or anything? Is a WC provided? Thinking about having guests stay at Le Meridien and/or Paradisus and having a shuttle. If any of you ladies would provide more info I'd appreciate it! Perhaps the WC's email? Their website doesn't have a link for weddings.

Rates from resort site and Expedia/Kayak/etc : Sat, May 16 - Tue, May 19 $300 per night for 2 ppl -- all inclusive; Deluxe Garden View Junior Suite $593 per person from Austin to Cancun Thu, June 18- Sun, June 21 $300 per night for 2 ppl -- all inclusive $652 per person from Austin to Cancun Did you use a travel agent and were you able to get a better deal on flights and lodging? The resort rates aren't bad but it would be nice if the flights were lower. Most of our guests are flying from Texas, California, Pennsylania and Michigan. If you could recommend anyone or share your experience I would greatly appreciate it!

Pretty much! All Fri-Sun reserved in May and the only Monday left I believe. For June, the earliest or only, Friday. I don't think I can wait until December though!

Thanks for all the info! I emailed regarding possible May and June dates for 2009, but no response so far. It seems most likely that all Fri-Mon dates in May will be booked though. Hopefully, something will work out w/ Paradisus -- I'm so nervous and just want to send out those save the dates!

My question is pretty basic although the answers may not be so with all the possibilities: Which wedding package should I get? The Wish, the Fantasy, the Aqua... there are so many options and customizations. The plan: - 50-60 people - Beach ceremony, cocktail party, reception (no pref on plated or buffet), open bar - Music during ceremony and DJ/iPod during reception dinner I would like options for customizing the dinners, bouquets, etc., but I don't have a set idea of what I would like, so I'm pretty flexible when it comes to options. From your experience, what is the best deal? Is it better to start w/ a basic package and then add on? Or is it better to customize a more elaborate package? My main goal is to get a reasonble rate for the cocktail and reception dinner. Thanks!
