  1. Carrie, you will absolutely LOVE the catamaran group outing! Honestly, my wedding day was the best day of the trip, but the private catamaran outing we did with (@80 ppl) - was the SECOND best. You will not regret it! The catamaran we went on took us to swim with the dolphins, snorkeling and to Cayo Blanco (a pristine island) for a big lunch. There were other catamarans (meaning other people) on the island but the catamaran and dolphin time was exclusive to our group. It was amazing, and once you go you'll agree that it is the best money spent!
  2. Yeh, well with those 2 criteria - you can't do the legal ceremony in Cuba. Your WC at the resort should be able to accomodate, what if you did the ceremony symbolically at the resort, arrange for your dad to officiate - but do the legal portion here in Canada first. I am sure that with a Dad as a minister - that there are ways around it.

  4. I am a huge advocate for the travel mugs. They were a huge hit with our wedding goers! Check out my planning thread for pix. I purchased them from 4imprint - they were reasonable $, and came in very quickly!
  5. If I remember correctly the notary costs are built into the package at the resort (@$150 CUC's) -- there are no costs for translation if you have never been married before. You simply need your passport and birth cert.
  6. Bumping for the bride that was looking for ceremony inspiration!
  7. Check out my planning thread for inspiration - we did passport style invites that included a disclaimer about understanding that not everyone would be able to join us in Cuba. The wording was well received and we recieved compliments on it.
  8. You won't need the notary for a renewal of vows - she comes just for the legal wedding. Is there a reason you aren't legally getting married in Cuba?
  9. Congrats on choosing a great resort, you'll love where the Solymar is geographically on the Varadero strip... Walking distance to town and to a favourite tourist hot spot Calle 62! Enjoy!
  10. I like the colour of #3. and the style of #1... however, if any of your girls are heavy chested -- #2 would be a good choice. I am heavy chested and have a hard time fitting strapless... although my wedding dress rocked. My BM's wore two different styles - similar to your #1 for my sis - very petite girl, and similar to your #2 for my BFF - who is heavier chested. Check out my review for an idea of how two different dresses looks.
  11. Engagement photos are TOTALLY worth it! I love love love mine, and used them in various aspects of wedding planning. I.e. in the passport invites, in the save the dates, and they are a nice keepsake for your family too!
  12. Edward Scissor Hands: Johnny Depp
  13. Little Women: Winona Ryder
