  1. OH MY GOD!!! that is amazing! I love the little guy who is quoted as saying "always drink on your honeymoon!" LMAO So cool!
  2. So based on this thread, http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t46640 I thought.... hmm... themed candy buffet, meaning DW themed? Then I did some googling! cinnamon hearts for the love factor mexican sombreros for the weddings in Cabo...etc. Pineapple Candies for every location in the Carribean Gumball beach balls --- too freakin cute Ring pops to add some bling Runts.... for tropical fruits Swedish Fish.... for the Ocean! Other ideas that come to mind... Gummie Sharks Tropical flavoured Jelly Belly I could go on forever! All of this is available at Bulk Candy Super Store! .... CandyWarehouse.com Online Candy Store so cool!!!!! Why didn't I think of this?
  3. When you said 'themed candy' I was thinking DW theme... but I am a fan of a colourful candy display... there is a great website for ordering themed candy.... Bulk Candy Super Store! .... CandyWarehouse.com Online Candy Store I am helping my BFF plan her wedding and we are considering ordering from this site.

  5. I think you should pick the church you love... and be sure to plan a party on the bus there and back!
  6. B E A U T I F U L !!!!! You looked just radiant!!!!! Congratulations!
  7. Nope... no translation! You will need to complete a package from your resort wedding coordinator and fax it there three weeks before the wedding. Your coordinator will ensure that this is all done. it really is crazy easy!
  8. Congratulations! Can't wait to see the pix when you return!
  9. I think the bumper stickers from Zazzle are a much better idea than doing the DIY thing with a printer, due to colours bleeding.... I hope someone will post some pix of these projects!
  10. I agree with Tammy - you have at most 2 months before deciding to plan or postpone... I guess my other question is, ... are your family and friends who will be invited 'in the know' about the DW? Meaning the ones that you desparately want to be in attendance at the wedding? I would be verbally telling those 'special' people that your intention is to get married away in the next six months, to give them time to save money for the trip.
  11. The MTO people did not hassle me at all! OHIP was a different story because I still had an old red and white card!
  12. Offer for logo design still stands! I think it is awesome that you ladies are all collaborating on this project!
  13. Changing my name was EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even wait for the 'official' documentation to come in. When we left Cuba we had an un-official license, I used said license to first change my #1. Drivers License WHEN the new DL came in with my new name on it, I headed to the Bank and had all my information changed there. It was one step, and I didn't need to present my marraige license, just my DL. I then headed to the OHIP (ontario health card) office, and along with my DL, my un-offical marraige licence, and my passport (in my maiden name) I changed my OHIP card. ................then I got in a car accident, another story entirely Shortly there after (6 months after the wedding) our official **all stamped up** marraige license came in. This is when I changed my Passport -- which I am still waiting to receive -- I sent a copy of my new DL, my new OHIP card, my birth cert., and my old passport to Passport Canada. When I spoke with Passport Canada, they said that I did not need to send my marraige license, but I sent a copy anyway (the lady on the phone said that it wouldn't hurt). EASY...... Really, no marraige license translation at all!
  14. muahahahahaa great laugh on a friday afternoon!
  15. First off... as the previous posts said... chill -- the meltdown you are having is a result of the disappointment you feel from your family... the destination will be fine. Consider Varadero -- lots of flights to and from from both the east and west. Adults only resort to consider -- Melia Las Antillas... i have tons of pix... you can see a site visit review in this cuba section.. i'll bump it for you. Let us know which resorts you are considering, as many of us have been to cuba multiple times, and will be able to provide you feedback .... Have you found a travel agent? if you have and he/she is good, you should feel a lot more comfortable with the whole thing. Also, in terms of the time of day... I read somewhere that the cost for a ceremony outside the regular times is $150 CUC... I'll see if I can find that for you... Happy planning!

  17. Dimitri is absolutely right... but.... they cannot exchange coins... while there for my wedding a waiter sold my dad his toonies - he offered them to my dad 8 toonies for $10CUC... the toonies are worthless to them as they do not deal in canadian coins. Also, my dear friend Maureen in Varadero had a CDN $20 that had marker writing all over it, she couldn't exchange it and was going to toss it, on the advice of her dad she emailed me to see if it was still good.... I told her it definately was and she saved it till we got there and I traded her for a crisp bill.
  18. Welcome welcome to a fellow Cuban Bride!!!! You'lll find tons of help in the Cuba forum Cuba - Best Destination Wedding Forum and you can ask me ANYTHING about Varadero.... I bet I have the answer!!!!!
