  1. WOW... what a crazy day! I cannot believe they kept you in your office... I honestly think that your organization should have a policy on such matters.`
  2. I too was worried, bought a great little dress to change into... at the end of the day with the assistance of 'Honey Dust' body powder..... I wore my dress the whole day. I highly suggest investing in some 'honey dust' body powder - I purchased mine through one of those fantasia parties... it truly was a godsend and kept me fresh as a daisy all day!
  3. I totally agree with the previous posts, this wedding is about supporting you, not the Mexican Board of Tourism. Sorry you are going through this, but this could be a blessing in disguise.
  4. Kate --- perfect idea!!! egsarah.... you need to tell your mom how important it is to you that she match your wedding colours... then send/share your ideas of what would look great on her. As for Kate's idea, you should also let us know approx. what size your mom is.... thus if she is super tiny, she could get away with a fitted style dress... know what i mean?
  5. Beautiful dress Miss Karla!!! the train is fantastic!
  6. Great pics Maureen! The island looks absouletly beautiful!
  7. What a weird situation. I have never heard of inviting people to a wedding via facebook. And sending shower invites before the wedding invites is like putting the cart before the horse.... just ridiculous. I wouldn't be RSVP'ing to the wedding, and would wait to see if she approaches you about attending the shower... leave it in her court... the girl is obviously weird.
  8. Lana!! thanks for the compliments on my BM dresses.... J.Crew! They are in the sale bin right now... Stacey! You can start communications with Belkis now.... I started the planning process around the same time, and my wedding was the end of Jan.
  9. Yeh... shorten it so it doesn't look so much like a train.. .and then rock that dress as often as you can! you look fab in it!

Your friends and family love you and will be there in Jamaica for you regardless of your sister’s wedding!!! I completely agree with Yael.... If you were both having a DW, then family members would be in a position to choose between the two. At the end of the day, those family and friends who want to go to your DW will be there, regardless of your sister's actions. I would however, put my foot down... regarding sharing the limelight on dress shopping day. Simply tell her that you have made your bridal shoppe appointments, and would be happy to join her when it is her turn. I hope she'll understand.

  12. Yep I have the contact information for the coordinator - her name is Sandra Linares Davalos. As for speedy replies, allow a minimum of a week for a response. There are 6 ladies that work in guest relations there at the Marina Palace. They may answer you on her behalf. PM me your email address and I'll send you Sandra's email and contact info. As for contacting the WC, I would suggest firming up the location etc and pricing with your TA. As for the posted packages, you probably don't have enough points. A few more posts and you should be able to access them. I don't have any serious complaints about the resort, we chose the Barcelo Marina Palace because we had so many children attending. I suggest you read my review - (you'll see the link in my siggy) - this may answer a ton of questions that you have about the resort without going through the WC. I am only too happy to help.!!!!
  13. My dress had a train... about 3ish feet off the back. I debated the same thing. This was the bustle the seamstress offered on my first fitting On the actual day - with the train removed completely Removing the train was the right decision for me. I might add that this alteration WAS NOT CHEAP!!!!!! Removing the train cost over $200. Bustling was going to cost $50... At the end of the day DH said "Amarillis, you have been known to spend more than than that on a bottle of wine, and you are skimping on your wedding dress?!?" Immeadiately after, I called the seamstress and told her to cut it off!!

I received this from the wedding coordinator via email. The prices may have changed.... If you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask! 15. There is TONS of info on the forum regarding the Barcelo Marina Palace. I can offer OODLES of pictures and information about the resort. I also visited the Solymar on an occasion, and can speak a little to that resort. Please post your questions! Here are some photos of the wedding gazebo! We didn't have our wedding in the gazebo, as our group was too big. the gazebo is in the distance in the top right not the gazebo... the lighthouse
  16. DH and i (before marraige) went on a group trip to the Riu Bachata in the DR.. It was OK... but not worth the $ that we paid to go.
  17. I love the music choices!!! Yael... you looked fantastic and absolutely radiant!!!!! CongratS!!!
  18. the pork was my choice, as every freakin wedding I've been to lately serves.... Chicken... even my wedding did!
